Awakened: SSS Ranked Soul king

Chapter 79 Considerations

Chapter 79 Considerations

"What do you mean by they are a lot more?" Quinn frowned, looking a bit confused.

He had scouted the left gate where the mythic beast was, and everything seemed the same—there were no extra beasts or anything, just that menace of a beast planted at the main door.

"I was surprised too, but I saw it with my own two eyes... uh, scratch that, I saw them though," Guilliman explained.

The soul was a very mysterious thing; it was the driving force of all living beings, and a myriad of cultures had different ways of knowing and experiencing the soul.

The shaman race had the most knowledge on what was right and what was wrong, and this situation was very wrong.

He used the soul pulse skill to detect what was inside the outpost, and very much so he got the accurate numbers; but after the initial scouting, he noticed a new grand beast amongst the lot.

It didn't make sense—there were no beasts in the perimeter; if there were, he would know. As for the general population, it was exactly the same.

It was confusing,

until he peered through that window. Inside the outpost, there were dozens more beasts—some of which were sacred and some grand. As for the reason he couldn't detect them at first?

It was probably because they were all asleep. The new grand beast that had joined them was woken up not too long ago, so he didn't detect it.

Now that it was awake, though, Guilliman could easily see them—it had to be because of sleep.

But when had sleep ever been a reason not to detect the soul?

"You say there's another mythic beast?" Cyrus asked, a frown forming on his face. This was a disaster—if there was another mythic beast, then this whole thing had to be abandoned.

"Yes... though it's severely injured and sleeping...I doubt it'll get up anytime soon," Guilliman continued.

"It's just information. I don't think those guys will pose a threat to us—they are in a totally different section of the outpost. If our goal is to kill the first mythic beast, then we can just avoid the other."

The right gate, which they thought was so safe, seemed to be the most dangerous of all; at the left gate there was just the mythic beast and a few grand ones.

However, for Guilliman, he had to wait a bit for Victoria to get ready and meet him outside the camp.

"Okay, let's go." Victoria pulled up in a gray battle suit revealing her luscious curves and well-fitted body. Her silver hair flowed down from her head as she walked past Guilliman, heading deeper into the forest.

'Hmmm, she's the only mystery...' Guilliman mused.

He had always been interested in Victoria—her backstory, at least. He knew about the rest, what they wanted, why they were willing to put their lives on the line to get it, and all of that.

But Victoria was an enigma; she had everything she could ever need—strength, a powerful backing, and a good bloodline. From the looks of it, her family wasn't even involved in Blacksteel Shelter politics.

So why was she here? Just to become strong? It was categorized as a yellow gate, after all... maybe she was just stuck here like the rest of them?

But Guilliman didn't think so; she was the only one who, for some reason, seemed to like it here.

"Hm?" Suddenly, Victoria stopped, causing Guilliman to pause as well.

"That's far enough, right?" She turned and said, with an awkward look on her face.

Taking the initiative like this was a bit odd for her; she hadn't really asked anyone for anything before.

"Far enough? For what?" Oblivious to what was going on, Guilliman asked, looking around subtly.

They were in the middle of a forest, quite far away from the main camp—what was this all about?

"Ehnn, I was wondering if maybe we could spar?" Victoria smiled weirdly, a glint of light flashing through her eyes.

For a very long time, in fact, after first seeing this kid fight, she was convinced something was strange about him. She wanted to get to the bottom of it, but also didn't want to be rude.

This time, seeing his resolve and determination to accomplish what he wanted, she just couldn't help herself anymore.

She had to taste this mysterious strength
