Chapter 365 - 365: Twists

Chapter 365 - 365: Twists

Moments Ago…

After Pyris left his mana pool, where he had spent an unknown yet significant amount of time, he made a startling discovery—time within the mana pool flowed differently. The world outside seemed to remain nearly still while he was inside, as if the passage of time paused or slowed to an unmeasurable degree. It was a phenomenon he had never deeply considered before, and he blamed himself for not conducting enough re

Silent Night's body lay motionless on the ruined ground, scorched and battered. Her breathing was shallow, strained. Even though the healing pill had stabilized her condition, her wounds were far from healed.

In an instant, Song vanished from where he stood—his body blurring like a specter as he reappeared beside her.

He crouched, silent, fluid.

Then, with practiced ease, he slipped an arm behind her back and gently lifted her upright.

"It's fine now. You're safe."

His voice was low, soothing. A carefully crafted warmth laced his tone. As if to seal the reassurance, his fingers lightly stroked through her silken black hair.

Silent Night stiffened.

Heat rushed to her face, a deep blush creeping up her neck.

Her heart pounded.

This—this was Lord Pyris?

She couldn't even look at him directly.

The legends of his charm, his overwhelming presence—she had heard them all. But feeling it this close? It was intoxicating. Even in her weakened state, the aura around him was irresistible. He wasn't just powerful—he was effortlessly magnetic.

And yet—it wasn't really him.

Song's disguise was flawless.

Every detail—perfect. Even the subtle, almost unconscious charm that made Pyris so dangerous. And yet this disguise was nothing compared to the real Pyris.

And Silent Night was falling for it. Could she handle the real deal?

"I don't know who you are," Song continued, his voice carrying the perfect balance of curiosity and authority, "but it's safe now. The vampires won't be a problem." His golden eyes darkened, a dangerous glint flashing in them.

"I figured… since three of them came after you, you must be important in the Dragon Imperial Court. And I couldn't just sit back and watch while those vermin stepped on us." A wave of killing intent burst from him—raw, suffocating.

The air cracked.

Silent Night's breath hitched.

Her instincts screamed.

For a brief moment, she felt like her very existence was being crushed. Then, just as suddenly, the pressure vanished.

Song exhaled, shaking his head. "Oh, sorry—I nearly lost control." He let out a bitter chuckle. "It's just…" He clenched his fist, his expression tightening. "I hate that we're in this situation."

His gaze lifted, piercing and unwavering.

"Most empires think we dragons are divided. That they can do whatever they want to us. The audacity. If only we were united, we could remind them what it means to be a dragon." His voice was cold, sharp, unyielding.

Then, after a pause—a shift.

The faintest smirk played at his lips. "But regardless of our separation… We Obsidians will not sit back and watch a dragon be walked on by outsiders." His golden eyes burned.

Silent Night felt something stir deep inside her.

She wasn't sure if it was fear… or something else entirely.
