Chapter 307 Exiting the Abyss, The Angel King is Here
Chapter 307 Exiting the Abyss, The Angel King is Here
The exit of the Abyss finally appeared the moment Alex defeated Varyn, the God of the Abyss.
It meant only one thing.
He was allowed to leave.
Without hesitation, he stepped forward.
He entered the swirling black vortex that had appeared before him.
The moment he did, he emerged on the other side, his feet landing on solid ground.
The first thing he noticed was the scenery.
It was unlike anything he had seen before.
The sky was a deep, unsettling shade of red, casting an eerie glow over the land.
The grass beneath him was pitch black.
There was no wind.
No sound.
Just an overwhelming sense of emptiness.
This was the [Dark Lands].
The third zone of the [Double Experience Zone] of the angels.
Realizing that, Alex turned around.
He already knew what he would see.
And sure enough, just behind him was a massive, gaping hole in the ground.
It was the entrance to what used to be the fourth and final zone of this place.
The [Abyss].
But now, it was collapsing.
Or rather, it was being erased from existence.
It was disappearing into nothingness.
It made sense.
He had cut through the very essence of the Abyss with the [Blade of Destiny].
In doing so, he had severed its existence.
It was gone for good.
Just as Alex processed that fact, a golden panel suddenly materialized before him.
A familiar voice echoed in his mind.
"Good choice, human."
His eyes widened slightly before a relieved grin crossed his face.
"Kaelios!"
He had never thought he would be happy to hear a god's voice.
Yet here he was.
"I couldn't communicate with you inside the Abyss, but I saw everything."
Kaelios' voice was filled with genuine admiration.
"That was... incredible, and you also made the right choices in what you did."
Alex stretched his arms, feeling the fatigue settle in.
"What do you mean?"
"I'm talking about what you decided to cut with 'World Cleaver'."
Kaelios explained.
"You didn't realize it at the time, but Varyn was practically immortal inside the Abyss."
"What?"
Alex's eyes narrowed.
"His abilities relied on the countless souls trapped there."
"One of his most broken skills, 'Revive', allowed him to resurrect himself for just five souls."
"And since he had millions of them... well, you get it."
Kaelios chuckled.
"Even if you had killed him once, he would have come back over and over again."
"Cutting the Abyss itself was the only way to truly defeat him."
"Congratulations."
Alex exhaled, running a hand through his hair.
"Damn... that was way too close."
If he hadn't cut the Abyss, he would have been stuck in an endless fight.
The thought alone made him shudder.
He had survived purely by coincidence and thanks to his instincts.
"I guess that's good, then."
"Come back to the Garden of Destiny later."
"We need to talk."
With that, the golden panels vanished.
Kaelios' presence disappeared.
Alex nodded to himself.
"I received some... information a few minutes ago."
His tone was casual.
Yet something beneath it carried weight.
"Information that, frankly, doesn't seem real to me, I mean, after all, how could it be?"
Alex didn't respond, he simply waited.

He was ready to fight at a moment's notice.
He still had some [Destiny Points] left after the abyss since he used Lorien as a point farm.
Though it didn't matter much.
If worst came to worst...
He had wings now.
He could fly.
[Volks Wingser, Angel King, Level 2,000]
'Shit.'
That was bad.
Why were the angels here so quickly?
The answer came almost immediately.
Volks stopped walking.
His gaze locked onto Alex, ready to ask the big question that all other angels also seemed eager to know the answer of.
"Tell me, human."
His voice was lower now.
More serious.
Tension in the air tightened.
The surrounding angels held their breath.
"Where were you ten minutes ago?"
In fact, even the Angel King seemed... nervous?
Alex narrowed his eyes.
It wasn't hard to figure out why.
As the Angel King, Volks was undoubtedly one of the strongest beings among his kind.
But he wasn't at the top.
There were others.
Grand mages.
The Hatred Demon.
Beasts like Xyrran, the Primordial Dragon of Space and Time.
And above all... the Gods.
So when news reached [Angel City] that the Abyss, a place ruled by an immortal god, was collapsing...
It must have caused absolute chaos.
Alex turned his head.
He glanced back at the shrinking abyssal hole.
"So it really is disappearing..."
The same conclusion the angels must have reached.
They were right.
Not only had Alex killed the God of the Abyss.
He had taken the [Crown of the Abyss God].
The very thing that sustained its existence.
The abyss was gone.
"I was inside that hole," Alex finally answered, pointing at the vanishing abyss, "Why?"
The reaction was immediate.
The surrounding angels gasped.
Volks' expression changed.
A realization settled in his eyes.
"Did you..." He hesitated, almost unable to believe it, "Did you kill the God of the Abyss?"
The question hung in the air.
All the angels around him stiffened.
Their gazes drilled into Alex.
Waiting for his answer.
Alex simply smirked.
"Well." His grin widened. "He didn't let me leave when I asked." He shrugged. "So I killed him."
Silence.
Dead silence.
Then...
The angels' faces dropped: a human had killed a god.
That realization hit them like a storm, for an event of this scale had never happened before.
