The Delicate Female Lead Only Wants to be Loved by the Villainous Young Ladies

Chapter 62

Chapter 62

Blood thirst, one of the most defining characteristics of vampires, was often referred to as their “inherent flaw.” However, some believed it was a curse, a divine affliction bestowed upon them by the gods. It was said to reside within the True Blood left behind by the deceased deities. The True Ancestors, having consumed this divine blood, inherited this curse and passed it down through their lineage.

If a vampire failed to quench their blood thirst, they risked transforming into a mindless monster, their sanity crumbling, their “SAN points” plummeting, as some might say. From this perspective, vampires were quite Lovecraftian indeed.

Generally, a vampire’s blood thirst manifested once a week. In its early stages, it was manageable, controllable through willpower. Even the most ravenous, blood-obsessed vampire shouldn’t experience it twice within such a short period.

Therefore, Adele’s sudden blood thirst was undoubtedly... a ruse!

After all, she had just indulged in Celeste’s delectable blood the previous night. The bite marks on Celeste’s neck hadn’t even faded! Or perhaps Celeste cherished them, unwilling to let them disappear. After all, high-ranking vampires possessed remarkable regenerative abilities...

Regardless, it was inconceivable for Adele to experience blood thirst again so soon after draining Celeste. It defied all logic.

Furthermore, the quality of Celeste’s blood was exceptional. While not as potent as Hermione’s or Dorothy’s, it was still incredibly nourishing, akin to a human consuming a potent restorative tonic. It was impossible for Adele to experience blood thirst due to insufficient or low-quality blood.

Adele was playing a game of information asymmetry. Sweet, innocent Sharon had no idea that Adele and Celeste were still very much... connected.

They were mistress and pet, after all!

This made it even more improbable for Sharon to know that Adele had already satisfied her blood thirst with Celeste. Sharon’s desire to help stemmed from genuine concern, a concern that had overwhelmed her rational thought. She had completely forgotten about the blood bags provided by the academy, readily available in Adele’s room.

There was no need for her to offer herself.

But in that moment, her mind, clouded by worry, had fixated on this as the only solution.

High-ranking vampires were meant to be the predators, the wolves, the tigers, the apex predators of the vampire world. Lowly Sequence Fives, on the other hand, were the prey, the sheep, the most vulnerable creatures in the food chain.

And yet, in Adele’s room, a scene that would have baffled any seasoned vampire was unfolding. The wolf was offering its neck to the sheep.

Not for slaughter, but... almost.

Sharon had exposed her most delicate point, allowing Adele to see the alluring blue veins pulsing beneath her pale skin. She had turned her head to the side, her cheeks flushed, her hand tucking a stray strand of silvery-gray hair behind her ear.

Adele’s pink eyes darkened, a crimson hunger swirling within their depths.

And then, without hesitation, she sank her fangs into Sharon’s neck.

*Sweet... So sweet...*

Adele finally understood the obsession Dorothy and the others had with her. Her blood was... unique. Precious.

And after experiencing high-quality blood, drinking from a blood bag was like... well, it was like chewing on tasteless wax. Bland, unappetizing, almost repulsive.

The air was filled with dust motes, dancing in the sunlight streaming through the half-open window, like tiny, glittering fairies.

Her breathing slowed, her heart rate returning to normal. She turned her head, her gaze settling on Adele, who was sleeping peacefully beside her, her arm wrapped around Sharon’s waist, her expression serene, her lips curved into a contented smile.

She looked so beautiful, so peaceful.

Her hair was a mess, strands of black silk framing her face, her eyelashes casting delicate shadows on her cheeks. Her lips, still slightly swollen from their earlier... encounter, were a delicate shade of pink, their scent intoxicating.

She was breathtaking.

No words could adequately describe her beauty, her allure.

Sharon felt herself drowning in her gaze, her heart overflowing with a love that bordered on obsession.

She had no doubt that Adele was truly asleep. After all, she had exhausted herself during the Magic Training class, and then... well, Sharon had helped her with her blood thirst. It was only natural that she would fall into a deep, peaceful sleep.

But Adele was, of course, faking it.

Firstly, it prevented any awkwardness, any explanations, once her blood thirst subsided.

Secondly, it allowed her to quickly shift the battlefield, to lure Sharon into her dreams, where she could... well, let’s just say she had plans.

And thirdly... well, there was a rather embarrassing reason.

Even Adele, with her shameless personality, couldn’t quite face Sharon after what had just happened.

So, she was hiding, pretending to sleep.

Don’t think for a second that Adele didn’t feel a shred of guilt, a flicker of remorse. She wasn’t some heartless monster who would devour a girl and then discard her without a second thought.

Sharon’s sacrifice, her willingness to give Adele everything she had... it had touched Adele’s heart in a way she hadn’t expected.

But as the minutes ticked by, Adele’s eyelids growing heavy, her mind drifting towards sleep, Sharon still hadn’t made a move.

She simply watched Adele sleep, her gaze filled with a love that was both tender and possessive. If she could, she would have stared at her forever, memorizing every detail of her face, her body, her scent.

For the first time, Sharon found herself wanting... more.

More than just dreams.

She wanted the real Adele.

Even if it meant embracing the harsh realities of the waking world.
