Chapter 85: Chapter 84- Reward

Austin was allowed to return to his room since his injuries weren't too severe.

Since it was already dark, and would be difficult to travel, Austin decided to start their journey tomorrow, early in the morning.

He had already prepared his plan; the first place he would be visiting after leaving the academy was the great forest. He needs the mythical extract that could cure any illness or injury instantly. That is the key to cool down the tension between Eryndor and Drenovar.

After that, Austin was planning to pay Lord Corwon a visit since the Dukedom was not far from the Great Forest. He needs to assure the man that there is no need for him to worry about his daughter.

Well, that wasn't much of a problematic task, since Austin knows how much Lord Corwon loves his daughter. So convincing him would be easy.

And the final destination of the Prince would be the Capital, to meet his sick father, and assure him about a few things.

All the travel time is taken into consideration, along with some delays because of unforeseen situations, it would take around twelve days for them to finish their business in the Capital. After that only three days would be left....and that is not enough to settle the situation with Drenovar.

The problem was—every participant had to attend the gathering arranged by the council on the occasion of the commencement of the tournament.

That's why asking the Headmaster to extend a few days so Austin could finish his job would be pointless. The Headmaster would be helpless in this situation.

"Are you worried?"

Hearing the sweet voice of his girlfriend brought Austin back to reality as he glanced at that bright pair of eyes.

Seriously, sometimes he couldn't believe that this beauty was his fiancée.

"Yeah, kind of. But I know we will do something about it." Austin was short on time, but having a powerful warrior like Valerie and an experienced strategist like Sebastian by his side would surely allow him to tread through all the difficulties.

And there was his system too.

Valerie turned to stand before him, their hands connected as she spoke in a warm tone, "Don't take all the burden on yourself. I know what's at stake, but nothing matters more than your health."

Austin heaved a sigh; for her, his health was more important than the country. Yeah, he loves this girl.

Soon, a teasing grin extended his lips as he said, "Talking about my health, I know a perfect medicine to help me recover."

Valerie blinked in confusion, "What is...uh!" She recalled...the reward!

She promised him that if he wins the qualifiers...she...she would...k-k-kiss...

Their kiss continued for a few minutes before Austin finally felt a little bit satisfied, and parted from her.

Pressing his forehead against her, he breathed a little roughly,

"I thought only an intense battle could make my heart race this much. Guess, I was severely wrong." Austin whispered as he felt his heart drumming against his chest.

Valerie clung to him, resting her face against his chest, listening to his heartbeat, "My situation...is the same."

Austin wrapped his hand around her back, before whispering, "Each moment with you makes me fall even deeper for you. I think I might get obsessed with you, Val."

The violet-haired smiled, "I'd love that."

The couple remained in each other's embrace for some more time, reluctant to break the blissful moment, but every good thing has to come to an end.

"I will see you tomorrow in the morning." Austin kissed the back of her hand, as he bid his farewell.

Valerie smiled fondly at her Lord, "I will be there. Goodnight."

Although she said that, she didn't pull her hand away, nor did she show any sign of wanting to leave.

However, suddenly, a voice interrupted the sweet atmosphere between them,

"Young master," It was Sebastian, who looked unusually worried, as he approached the duo.

"Sebas?" Austin asked, "What happened?"

Sebastian extended a letter toward his Lord, before saying, "It was sent through WarpMail,"

Austin's eyes narrowed; WarpMail was only used for emergency situations since the teleportation costs too much.

He took the letter which had no name of the sender but just the emblem of Eryndor.

'Father....'
