Chapter 92 Learning By Trial and Error (1)

'The first part is complete, but what now? I mean, should I just start copying all the stuff famous Travelers do, like make a sword of ice or armor...maybe try summoning a blizzard, NO, steady Aoni, we are STEADY, not impulsive.' With his eyes trained on the handful of snow in his palm, Aoni wondered about his next step.

However, there were a few issues with those GRAND ideas he had thought about. For starters, Even with a D-Rank Energia Stat, that didn't necessarily signify that he had a large amount of Energia to draw from.

Now, if we were talking about him having a 100% Elementalization of his Energia, sure, maybe something like that would be possible if not only in short bursts but with only 10%; it was no different from saying, "Hey, I've got 100 pieces of candy, let's have a feast with only 10.

Basically, it was irrational.

That's also factoring out any type of measurement of his Bodies Energia content, which is entirely possible as long as proper tools are used to give a numerical value to his D-Rank.

Right now, the best thing he could do was get a rough estimate based on the values hammered into his brain in school.

For example,

In the G Rank, Travelers could expect to have an Energia Value between 1 point and 10.

F = 11 to 50

E = 51 to 100 Continue your saga on My Virtual Library Empire

D = 101 to 1000

Unfortunately, right when he finally succeeded, Aoni found himself unable to celebrate as the ground under his feet seemed to shift. Unable to stop his descent, he ended up on his back, staring at the sky, dizzy and feeling like he needed to throw up.

"Really...a single snowball? That's my limit?" Rolling onto his side, the lad curled into the fetal position and waited for the nausea to pass while thinking about why he had exhausted so much Energia.

Luckily, he knew what was happening, and since it was simply the effect of exhausting his Energia, there wasn't anything to worry about, as the sickness would pass in less than an hour. Still, the issue at hand was HOW it had cost so much to manipulate a handful of snow into a snowball.

The answer actually lay in a combination of factors; for starters, Both of his Manipulation skills were only at G-, so while he had plenty of Energia to draw from, he wasn't skilled enough to be efficient with that amount, thus ended up overusing and abusing his available resource.

This was something Aoni would not only have to overcome but also learn from since earning a passive didn't mean he was an overnight expert.

If anything, all a Passive equated to was proof of two things: Theory and Experience. For example, let's take something Like Alchemy; even if the lad somehow stumbled his way into concocting a basic One-Star Health Potion, that didn't mean he was going to earn the corresponding Passive magically.

First, he would need to spend years toiling in a lab, learning tens of thousands of herbs and plants, along with different recipes, and then, he would have to put that knowledge to work, crafting multiple potions, and after years of this, ONLY THEN, would he learn the Passive.

And it was precisely because of this that Colleges on Terra, no matter what country you visited, all had courses tailored to meet this very specific need.

Want to become an Alchemist? Cool, spend a shit ton of money and four years of your life to earn the Passive using their structured course, which is proven effective.

Theory and Experience are what it took to earn a passive, and it was also why Aoni was so amazed when he randomly picked up the Dual Swordsmanship passive.

Apart from playing around in the backyard with his brothers and roughhousing with two sticks, he had never been formally trained in that discipline.

At the same time, earning the Swordsmanship Passive was pretty much guaranteed since most Academies put students through enough training so that they could pick it up given the right circumstances, which, for him, involved actually getting his hands on a real weapon.
