Feeling a little better, thanks to the pawing of Glacia on his back and the cool water trickling on his head and shoulders, Aoni found enough strength to sit up and speak.
"As for defense, well, you guys saw, it's like I'm being attacked on all sides with fatal blows and then healed." With some effort and stumbling around like a baby deer, Aoni meandered toward the open gate with the aid of his summons before finding a large snowbank to dive head-first into.
Meanwhile, vaguely aware of the Floof's actions, the Lad swallowed the hard-candy-sized fruit pit and was brought a small amount of relief.
The only silver lining through this process was the fact that along with the new damage and previous torture sessions, Aoni's Pain Resistance, which had been stuck at F+, broke into the E-Rank before skyrocketing to its current Maximum of E+.
With this increase in his passive, the pain was EVER SO SLIGHTLY more tolerable. That is, if you could call comparing getting a fingernail pulled off and having your whole hand ripped away from your wrist slightly more bearable.

Having been at it all day and well into the night, Aoni decided to call it after reaching E-, and after a third snow bath, he half walked, half got dragged by Glacia, toward his bed and passed out for the night, leaving his summons to worry about their own dinner.

Looking at her little sister questioningly, Glacia asked, but when she saw the look on Nyria's face, the floof decided it was probably best to forgo dinner for the night; after all, they had tried eating lunch earlier in the day but lost it all when Aoni's Defense broke through into the E-Rank.

Tossing a glance at her sleeping Lord, Nyria lightly clicked her beak before looking down at the ground and thinking, then turning to face the door to the cave.

With that said, the pair headed outside and, while holding their breath, used Glacia's snow shovel to clear away the sludge left behind after the upgrade session.
Then, since she was the only one who could get rid of it, Nyria reluctantly picked up one of the empty chests Aoni had crafted that they had filled with the sludge and took it to the edge of the barrier before throwing it outside.
