Abyssal Sovereign: The Demon's Dominion

Chapter 306 - 305: experience vs power

Chapter 306 - 305: experience vs power

The quasi Rank 4 angel was stunned, his eyes blazing. Of course Void didn't know about this layer of space, he had only just broken through to quasi Rank 4. How could he possibly understand it?The angel scoffed as his Origin coated his body.

Yes, they were at war, so did it matter? Under normal circumstances, no quasi Rank 4 being would dare enter the sixth layer of space, but right now, it was acceptable. He and Void simply needed to fight.

Opposite him, Void was just as stunned.

(Host, this is the sixth layer of space. Unlike the earlier fifth layer, this one behaves more like a realm. Host is now entering deeper into space, into the secrets of existence. Apart from being the sixth layer, this place is also called the Burial Expanse, a region where Rank 4 and Rank 5 beings once died. Of course, this did not happen recently; no one at your current level truly knows when that battle occurred or how long ago it took place. Quasi Rank 4 beings rarely come here, as many go mad from the whispers of those terrifying beings. To be safe here, one must be at least Rank 4. Host should use the Origin of Fire to protect himself while battling the quasi Rank 4 angel.)

The mechanical voice of the system echoed, and Void nodded.

"No wonder the angel was scared," Void muttered as the angel's earlier reaction began to make sense.

Everything clicked.

So that was it.

The quasi Rank 4 angel steadied himself, wings trembling as tendrils of Decay and Light wrapped around his body like twin serpents. The Burial Expanse groaned beneath them, whispering… laughing… hungry. Even he, a veteran of countless celestial wars, felt an instinctive chill crawl up his spine.

Across from him, Void's grin widened, his eyes glowing like twin abyssal embers as faint black vapors twirled around his limbs.

He cracked his neck.

"So…" Void's voice echoed, distorted by the oppressive weight of the realm. "Shall we continue?"

The angel didn't respond with words.

He responded with annihilation.

BZZZZZT!

A beam of concentrated holy light tore across the sixth layer, splitting through floating ruins and evaporating chunks of space itself as it shot toward Void at blinding speed.

Void vanished.

The beam struck a drifting monolith behind him and melted straight through it like hot metal through ice.

Void's laughter echoed behind the angel.

"You angels and your flashy lights… I like it."

The angel spun sharply, Origin of Light flooding his nerves, boosting his speed to levels Void should have struggled to follow but Void simply raised his hand, letting fire erupt across his arm.

WHOOSH!!!

Flames roared, swirling like demonic serpents as they formed a burning claw.

He caught the angel's incoming hand.

And squeezed.

CRACK!!!

The angel's forearm snapped in Void's grip, bone twisting unnaturally as Void's flames spread across the angel's body, eating through divine flesh.

But the angel didn't scream.

He retaliated.

"Decay Surge."

A pulse of gray energy exploded from his wings, washing over Void's body. Void's flames sputtered out for an instant just long enough for his arm to decay from the elbow down, crumbling into black ash.

Void looked at the missing limb.

"Oh? That's new."

SHRRRKKK!!

His arm regenerated instantly, ripping through reality as it reformed.

The angel clicked his tongue.

"Monstrous regenerative factor… typical demon."

"Oh, you're flattering me," Void replied, stepping forward.

And then he disappeared.

BOOM!!!

A knee smashed into the angel's abdomen. His ribs folded inward, cracking like brittle metal. Before the angel could catch his breath, Void's fist slammed into his face.

BANG!

The angel was hurled backward, crashing through floating ruins, tearing through slabs of dead worlds like ragged cloth.

Void pursued, fire trailing behind him like a demonic comet.

He appeared above the angel mid-flight.

His heel dropped.

WHAAAMMMM!!!

The entire sixth layer shuddered, gravity briefly folding inward as the angel's body cratered into a drifting landmass.

Smoke billowed.

Light flickered.

Decay surged like a tidal wave as the angel burst from the crater in fury, one wing tattered, half his armor melted from Void's earlier flames.

"You insolent....!"

Void appeared in front of him and raked his claws across the angel's chest.

SKRRRCH!!!

Three deep gashes tore open, spraying divine blood into the void.

The angel retaliated instantly, jamming his hand under Void's ribcage.

"Decay Implosion."

BOOOOM!!!

Void's torso collapsed inward, half his chest dissolving into nothingness as the shockwave rippled across the Burial Expanse.

Void staggered back.

Then he grinned again.

"Good hit."

His torso repaired itself instantly, flames swirling around the wound as bones reformed and flesh regrew.

The angel's eye twitched.

Void blurred forward again.

BAM! BAM! BAM!

Punches.

Kicks.

Claws.

Wings.

Decay.

Light.

Fire.

Each collision detonated like a dying star.

The sixth layer wailed with every blow, the whispers intensifying, watching them, hungering.

The angel's Decay melted Void's left leg twice.

Void's Fire burned through three of the angel's ribs and part of his remaining wing.

At one point, the angel seized Void's head and forced Decay through his skull, leaving half Void's face missing

but Void simply bit down on the angel's hand with what remained of his jaw, ripping flesh off before regenerating instantly.

"You fight like a beast!" the angel spat.

Void chuckled. "I am a beast."

Then he slammed his forehead into the angel's nose.

CRACK!!!

The angel recoiled.

Void grabbed his wing and twisted.

RRRRIPPP!!!

A large section of the angel's wing tore off, sending divine feathers scattering like shredded glass.

The angel screamed.

His eyes filled with rage as Light Origin exploded from his body like a sun going supernova.

Void's body was blasted backward, skin peeling off, muscles exposing, bones cracking under the sheer intensity.

But Void ENJOYED it.

He spread his arms and let the flames around him ignite again.

"More. Give me more."

Infuriated, the angel expanded both Origins at once. Decay spreading like a plague, Light blazing brighter than creation itself.

"Die, demon!"

He thrust his palm forward.

A spear of Light and Decay fused, raw annihilation ripped through the space between them.

Void didn't dodge.

He countered.

His entire arm turned crimson, fire swirling densely, compressing into a blazing pillar of pure destructive Origin.

He thrust his own hand forward.

"Primordial Inferno."

BBBOOOOOMMMMMM!!!

Fire and Light collided.

Decay gnawed at flames.

Flames devoured light.

The explosion ruptured the Burial Expanse, splitting floating landmasses apart, turning ruins to white ash.

Both fighters were swallowed by the blast.

When the smoke cleared…

Void was missing half of his right arm, his left horn broken, half his face exposed down to the bone.

Yet he was laughing.

Across from him, the angel floated shakily.

Or rather… what remained of him floated.

Half his body was gone...pulverrized from Void's fire-enhanced counterattack. One leg missing. One arm reduced to bone. His wing was nothing but a charred stump.

His chest was open, ribs exposed.

His divine heart barely flickered.

The angel couldn't believe it.

"You… you're insane…"

Void staggered forward, flames igniting across his body like a living inferno.

He wiped blood from his chin with a torn claw, smearing it across his cheek in a savage grin.

"Insane? No…"

He stepped closer, eyes glowing.

"I'm a demon."

He vanished.

Reappeared behind the angel.

His claws pressed against the angel's spine.

"And you," Void whispered....

"..are prey."

The angel turned, horror twisting his mangled face ...

But Void was already moving.

The Burial Expanse trembled.

The whispers intensified.

Fire roared.

And the brutal fight…

continued without mercy.
