Abyssal Sovereign: The Demon's Dominion

Chapter 313 - 312: Book of Death

Chapter 313 - 312: Book of Death

Immediately, Void stored the soul of the Quasi–Rank 4 angel. The sixth layer of space trembled as multiple presences descended.

Five of them.

Five Quasi–Rank 4 angels appeared simultaneously, their arrival causing space itself to groan under pressure.

"Huh… five angels?" Void muttered, momentarily stunned as he stared at the newcomers.

It was shocking.

Quasi–Rank 4 angels… here? Why? How? What reason could they possibly have?

There was a war raging across existence, yes but why would five Quasi–Rank 4 angels specifically target him?

Void narrowed his eyes, instincts screaming.

One of the angels stepped forward, his expression calm, his voice steady.

"Void, I presume?"

Void raised an eyebrow.

They knew his name?

He studied them more closely.

Their armor was forged of radiant gold, engraved with divine runes. Each of them wielded terrifying weapons that radiated not only holy light, but pure destruction. Their wings seven in total hung behind their backs, unfurled and vast.

The more Void observed them, the stronger the unease in his chest became.

These angels felt… different.

Not like the others.

"Hmmm… it might be because they're Quasi–Rank 4," Void thought, eyes narrowing, "but still… I've got a really bad feeling about this."

"Yes," Void finally replied aloud, his gaze sweeping across the five angels.

"This is Void."

The angel nodded.

"Good. Congratulations," he said calmly.

"You have entered the Book of Death."

Void frowned instantly.

Just a sentence yet it hit him like a hammer.

Everyone knew what the Book of Death implied from its name alone, but for Void… it was terrifying.

A chill ran down his spine.

His expression changed rapidly. His body tensed. His heartbeat thundered.

The Book of Death, to demons, was far more than a record of the dead. It wasn't just a list of those condemned to Hell or the Abyss for eternal torment.

It was worse.

"System," Void asked urgently, his mind racing, "what does the Book of Death mean to a demon?"

He couldn't understand why his reaction was so intense but his instincts told him this was dangerous. Extremely dangerous.

His heart pounded harder and faster.

(The Book of Death, Host, means far more to demons than you realize.

Every demon whose name is written within it is a talent, even among the demon race.)

Void's eyes widened.

(No one writes in the Book of Death.

It is a Heaven-grade artifact belonging to the angel race.

It automatically records the names of beings who commit vast atrocities and sends them to Hell or the Abyss.

It is also known as the Book of Good and Evil.)

Void's breathing slowed.

Then the system continued.

(However… it also records the names of exceptional demons.

Demons destined to become threats to the angel race.

Powerhouses who will one day shake Heaven itself.)

Void's pupils shrank.

(Because of this, the angel race launches extermination campaigns early to kill these demons before they fully bloom.)

The system's cold voice faded.

Void inhaled sharply.

"So… you're saying I'll be hunted now?" Void asked, shock evident on his face.

"Won't the Abyss protect me?"

(They will. However, Host… the fact that five angels stand before you right now proves something.)

Void clenched his fists.

(To kill demons whose names are written in the Book of Death,

the angels will do anything.

They will even block stronger demons from interfering.)

BAM.

A crushing sense of helplessness washed over Void.

It reminded him brutally just how ruthless both the demon and angel races were… and how far Heaven would go to ensure demons never surpassed them.

"Shit… what the actual fuck," Void muttered, almost breathless.

"Angels are just petty bastards."

Then....

He laughed.

"But… hahaha… I wield the Primordial Demon Body, now at ten percent.

I have the Nameless Sword, opened to the fourth hole of the nine.

I possess the Origin of Fire."

Void's grin widened.

"Hahaha… I don't think I'll be afraid of this.

In fact..let them come."

Wasn't this a good thing?

More Quasi–Rank 4 souls meant a massive breakthrough. Maybe he could even skip the early stage of Rank 4 entirely.

(Did the system forget to inform Host… that any rank may attack you?)

"Huh?"

Void froze.

His excitement vanished like smoke.

"Haha… by any rank, you mean at most Rank 4, right?" Void asked nervously, forcing a laugh.

(Any rank means any rank. There is no limit. That includes Rank 6 angels.)

"…Bitch."

Void blurted it out as his body trembled.

What the actual fuck.

"Come on… isn't that just bullying the weak with the strong?" Void asked bitterly.

(Congratulations, Host. You now understand how shameless angels truly are.)

Void felt utterly scammed.

If he had known this earlier, he might've chosen to be an angel instead.

Fuck.

But the entire exchange with the system took less than a Moment.

Void refocused on the five angels before him.

The longer he stared, the tighter his expression became.

What if a true Rank 4 angel appeared mid-battle?

No,forget that.

He was 100% dead if that happened.

"My pleasure," Void said, forcing a smile , one far more terrifying than friendly.

The five Quasi–Rank 4 angels chuckled softly.

They knew he understood.

"Well then, demon," one of them said coldly,

"accept your death."

The remaining four spread out, surrounding him.

Their Origins ignited.

Time.

Space.

Destiny.

Destruction.

Wind.

An aura of oblivion descended upon the sixth layer of space.

Cracks spread through reality.

Nearby ruins fractured some disintegrated instantly.

Laws twisted. Dimensions collapsed.

If this battle were in the first layer of space, the casualties would have reached numbers beyond comprehension.

But then

Void's lips curled upward.

A wicked grin spread across his face.

"You know," Void said casually, releasing his aura,

"if you were all peak Quasi–Rank 4s, I might worry."

He stepped forward.

"But you're just high-level and mid-level Quasi–Rank 4s."

"Light work."

BOOOOOOM!!!

The five angels were blasted away, terror filling their eyes.

"P–Peak… Peak Quasi–Rank 4?!" one of them screamed, body trembling.

According to the Book of Death… this demon had just broken through.

Yet he had skipped everything and reached the peak.

"He's a monster…"
