184- Example

When Tatsumi woke up once again, he saw the familiar ceiling. He blinked his eyes a few times, seeking clarity. When he saw the ceiling clearly, he also realized that he was waking up from deep sleep.As a transcendent, he did not need to sleep. But sleeping was a way to connect to the Afterlife so he retained this particular habit out of convenience.

As for meditation, it became passive as he could do it in any given situation.

Taking a deep breath, he then got out of bed. He knew that the time was dawn and it was time for him to recollect, ponder, and contemplate.

He went into the seclusion room in his house and sat cross-legged to do that.

This time, he wanted to know whether he could open the path to becoming stronger.

On the other hand, after Tatsumi woke up. Ame and Charlene also woke up from the movement Tatsumi had made.

Whenever he did this, they knew that he had something important to do; specifically, he was often found pondering and contemplating the transcendent path.

So they respectfully let him be and not disturb him unless it was an emergency.

Instead, they made breakfast for the three of them.

After some time, it was sunrise and Tatsumi came out from the seclusion room.

“It’s sunrise already. Good time.” Tatsumi nodded to himself at the time well spent. He also had an idea to advance the transcendent path.

“Good morning.” Charlene was the one who greeted him first.

“Morning.” Tatsumi replied while looking for today’s breakfast.

“Your breakfast is on the table. Don’t forget to eat it.” Charlene reminded.

“Ah, yes.” Tatsumi seemed to be slightly occupied by something but Charlene did not ask. She knew that to be the result of his contemplation. It would be good if he could get the ideal result but it would be fine if he had to correct some things.

Then Tatsumi went to the dining room’s table and sat in a chair. He dazed while doing that, still in the phase of contemplating.

He did not even realize that he ate his favorite dish. He mechanically did movements that resembled eating but his mind was somewhere else.

‘Revolutionary Realm is the phase where the core in the lower dantian is transformed into something else. But the change has to be gradual and step-by-step. Drastic change could cause an imbalance within the body and need to be addressed.

‘But the very purpose of this change is to make it into the core of the planet. The moment this is done, one has reached the Planetary Realm, which is equal to Rank 3 transcendent.’

Tatsumi had calculated this numerous times and was certain of this path.

‘But as usual, it needs an enormous amount of energy.’ Tatsumi winced at the mention of energy. He could only accumulate the energy slowly since absorbing too much could affect the entire ecosystem.

He gulped down another food before he realized that he had eaten all the food on the plate. On his opposite side, Ame and Charlene were also eating their own food. But they glanced at Tatsumi every once in a while.

“What are you thinking, to be that distracted?” Ame asked softly.

“Well, the accumulation of energy is necessary during the Rank 2 Revolutionary Realm. To be able to go further, an enormous amount of energy is needed. But it can be done slowly, accumulating them with time.” Tatsumi said.

“We have a lot of time so just use time to accumulate energy. Thank you for thinking about the transcendent path.” Ame replied.

Tatsumi nodded and then went to the kitchen to wash the plate. After that, he took a drink, sat on the sofa in the living room, and turned on the television.

He watched the morning news and relaxed. Ame then collected the remaining plates and went to the kitchen to wash them up while Charlene went back to her own specific room for her own purpose.

The morning of this family was done that way.

But at the facility, the children were taught to wake up early and their parents had to do it as to set an example.

Bore and the children were used to getting up every morning, but to make it a habit and be disciplined about it was not easy either.

“Alright. Now we can do calisthenics to warm up our bodies.” The facility administrator led both parents and children to do some exercises.

The exercise was easy to follow, just seven minutes of movement. But the movement was not big, just a moderate amount of the whole body movement was enough.

This was suitable for all ages and could strengthen the body. This was the watered-down version of the Body Refining Technique, which could be used by all races.

Bore analyzed the movement and found out that his body was strengthened gradually. He consulted with Tatsumi and Ame and found out that this was a modified Body Refining Technique. Exercising using it could lead to a healthy body and good blood circulation.

Furthermore, strengthening the body also needed a strong foundation. This exactly built a foundation for the practitioner.

‘The seventy movement…’ Bore followed all the way, while the other children also realized that something extraordinary about the exercise and did it rigorously and periodically.

After doing it, the facility administrator then declared the exercise finished.

“Okay, that’s all for the exercise. Looks like you all are excited about doing it.” The middle-aged woman smiled as she wiped the sweat from her forehead with the towel.

“Bore.” His father called him. Bore turned his head to look at him, his eyes glimmered.

“What is it?” Bore asked.

“Do you want to pursue higher education?”

Hearing his father’s words, Bore was stunned. But he quickly recovered and replied, “If it bothers you, I will not pursue higher education. This life of mine is enough to support you two.”

“But we want you to be happy. If you don’t even pursue something you like, how can we say that we make you happy?” Bore’s mother heard about this and said.

“Mother, Father, I don’t want to burden you with this unnecessary weight.” Bore replied with a serious expression.

Bore’s father just rubbed his hand on Bore’s head.

“Your future belongs to you. But let us help you to reach it. This is what we owe you.” He said to Bore.

“No!” Bore firmly said this.

“You don’t owe me anything. This is what I want to do, that’s all. I know that life in society can be hard but we should still strive for the best.” Bore said this with a wry smile.

He started to learn from Tatsumi some things and knowledge. He knew that he came to this world without consent but life went on. So he had to make the best of his life, not wasting it.

“Alright.” Bore’s father said, nodding.

Bore then talked to his parents about stuff he wanted to do. This happened during the rest time since they needed to stabilize their foundation.

This not only applied to him but to every parent and child pair.

“Wow, do you all want to go to the Transcendent Academy since you all are transcendent?” the facility administrator clapped her hands and asked.

“Yes, we do!” the children shouted with all their might.

The Transcendent Academy was the place where young, budding transcendent learned about transcendence. Even the child soldiers were transcendent, although they were from the lower realm.

“Then you should give this paper to your parents. I believe that with our teachings to read and write in the Federation standard language, you and your parents will be able to know the contents of the paper.” The facility administrator then let out some papers for the parent and child pair.

Bore took a look at the paper and understood that it was an admission letter.

“This…is good, isn’t it?” Bore’s father took a look and read the content of the letter before saying this.

“Hmm. So, do you want to go to the Transcendent Academy?” Bore’s mother asked Bore.

“Yes.” Bore replied. He wanted to explore the power within him, which could be used to protect his parents as well as make a name for himself.

Then Bore was given a pen, and he wrote his name on the admission letter. Bore’s heart was beating a bit faster due to anticipation.

“Miss Administrator, I am done.” Bore took the paper and gave it back to the middle-aged woman.

“I knew that you would sign it. But for you, this will be harder than in this place. So please brace yourself.” The facility administrator said with a smile.

Then she also collected the paper from the other parent and child pairs.

She was surprised to see that every child wanted to go to the Transcendent Academy.

“Eh? Everyone also wants to go to the Transcendent Academy.” One child noticed.

“So do you.” Bore replied.

“Hey, at least we can form a special group for communication purposes.”

“Yay, we can go together.”

Bore shook his head, but a slight smile appeared on his face. He had expected this, but to actually see this was another matter.

“Alright. Since everyone wants to go to the Transcendent Academy, I will personally request it to the Federation.” The middle-aged woman chuckled as she put the papers on a certain page of the document.

“After this is free time. You can do whatever you want to do but remember the rules, okay.” The facility administrator said before she left the large hall where the parents and children had gathered.

“What? They all wanted to go to the Transcendent Academy.” Tatsumi was surprised to hear it. All of the children in the facility in Giol City wanted to go to the Transcendent Academy.

He did not know whether the children from another facility would attend but at least the children under his care would all want to go there.

“Haha, yes. I can even see their enthusiasm. So, are you also going?”

“Of course. I am their guide so the least I can do is show them the way.” Tatsumi replied.

Then Tatsumi asked about the children’s latest condition. The facility administrator said that the children were healthy and their psyches were at the level they should be.

Then Tatsumi disconnected.

“Did you hear that?” Tatsumi turned around and faced with Charlene and Ame.

The two nodded. They also felt happy and elated that the children would be able to attend the Transcendent Academy.

But it also meant that their time together would come to an end. It did not mean they would be separated for good but more like letting the children go and chase their own aspirations.

The three smiled and even teared up.

“Let’s go. They are waiting.”

Tatsumi, Charlene and Ame went to the facility to give the parents and children the things needed to notice.

When they arrived at the large, white hall, they were greeted by the parents, who were enjoying themselves along with some children.

“I heard that the children all wanted to go to the Transcendent Academy. How’s the preparation?” Tatsumi asked.

“Lucky us, we have you who have graduated from there. What should we do to be able to acclimate there?” The parents were glad that the people who guided the children were from the Transcendent Academy.

“First…”

Tatsumi and Ame explained what was needed there—specifically, the place to stay. The children could stay in the dormitory but the parents had to stay somewhere near the academy.

“If you don’t mind, I can help you with that.” Ame said.

She then explained about the houses that could be used immediately.

“Ah, those houses. I remember. Those are actually the property of your family, right?” Tatsumi said.

Ame just smiled. She explained that the children’s potential was great and she wanted to invest in them.

“Thank you; if not for you, we would face difficulties.” The parents surrounded Ame, giving her their thanks.

“Please don’t do this. This is just something that we like to do. Investment in a potential individual is a rare occurrence, but once that happens, we will be able to rake in profits you cannot imagine.” Ame said while not letting the parents kneel.

The children who watched it felt as if they were stuffed in their chests. They even clenched their hand and made a solemn oath that they would be a better individual and make their parents happy while repaying Ame’s deeds.

“Big sister, thank you!” The children also let out their heartfelt thanks.

“You’d better repay her as soon as possible.” Tatsumi said while the children approached him after thanking Ame. He then rubbed their head as a sign of affection.

“You talk as if it is just my own effort. You, too are involved.” Ame pouted.

“Eh? Me too.” Tatsumi pointed at himself.

Of course, he was joking with the children. He had expected to be deeply involved with them.

“Please, help us.” The children surrounded Tatsumi and would likely not to leave until he agreed.

“Tch, how cunning.” Tatsumi clicked his tongue but he did not hide the smile plastered on his face.

“Yay, Big Brother will help us!” The children saw through him and jumped happily.

“Thank you for helping us.” Bore was the one who was still on Tatsumi’s side. Tatsumi looked at him and shook his head helplessly.

“No need for that. This is to make you into a better individual.” Tatsumi said honestly.

Developing someone’s future was not easy, but also not difficult. The balance was needed to make sure that they could still retain their free will while also letting them develop in their own direction.

“I see.” Bore seemed to understand something important, seeing Tatsumi and Ame’s action.

“Everyone, here is a snack for you!” Charlene went to the children with the basket of snacks. The children actually waited for this moment to be able to take some snacks.

“Snack!” The children left Tatsumi’s side and came to Charlene’s side in a queue. The children got the snack they wanted.

The children who got the snack then went to the side and slowly bit into the delicious snack. Bore also wanted one so he wore an apologetic look at Tatsumi.

“If you want to get the snack, get it.” Tatsumi said helplessly.

Bore nodded before standing at the end of the queue.

Charlene was happily giving the snack to the children. When it was Bore’s turn, he got the usual flavor and he went to the side, sat down and bit off the snack.

“Everyone, is it delicious?” Charlene’s eyes became crescent as she asked out loud.

“Yes!” the children who were still munching on the snack replied with a happy face.

Tatsumi and Ame looked as happy as Charlene and let them eat the snacks. As long as they were happy, that was all that mattered.

Then the parents went to their children, watching over them eating the snacks. Then the parent and child pairs faced off against Tatsumi, Ame and Charlene.

“Once again, thank you for taking care of us. We know that what you did to us cannot be repaid in the short term. We promise you that we will repay this debt. Truly.” The parents all bowed down since they knew that the three disliked them kneeling down.

“We are taking care of the future generation as part of benefiting ourselves.” Tatsumi was the one who spoke and explained his motive.

“How can helping us be of benefit for you?” one parent asked.

“Well, basically, helping you is a way to help myself. I am a selfish person so everything should be of benefit to me.” Tatsumi placed his right hand behind his head as he grinned.

“Please don’t mind his words too much. This is an investment to you so that you will benefit us more.” Ame said while elbowing Tatsumi.

“Ouch, wife, that hurts.” Tatsumi teased. Ame then pinched his waist.

“Fine, fine, fine. You are the best at managing your investment.” Tatsumi did not feel much pain since his body refining had reached Rank 2, but it still had an effect on him.

Bore held off his laugh seeing the two could be like that. Actually, he often saw them like that. Somehow, Bore imagined that his parents could also do things like that but just too embarrassed in front of him to do that.

“Alright, everyone. Now is noon. Time for you guys to have a nap.” Charlene checked the time and found out that it was noon already.

Tatsumi and Ame then went to each parent and each child pair and led them to their own room to take a nap. The parents were advised to accompany their child during the nap. Well, the parents could also take a nap alongside their child and that was what they did.

After they went to their own designated room, Tatsumi, Ame and Charlene then went to the Administrator's Office to have a briefing with the facility administrator.

This was a routine check-up for the children’s physical and mental health and they did not dare to take it lightly. They seriously treated it as the most important factor on the rehabilitation.

“They are almost ready to be released and go to society.” The middle-aged woman said with a nod.

“I hope that they can achieve what they wanted with our help. After all, they should have some ideas about how things worked.” Tatsumi commented.
