Chapter 297 - 294. New threat
Dexter had to let the wolves go far as he saw that it was a familiar face. He saw a circular stone in Rameses’ hand and took it, observing the item.
[Moonstone: An ancient heirloom of the werewolves, which grants them full control over their instincts. Has great magic healing capabilities.]
"How did you acquire this?" Dexter asked, looking at the peculiar jewel in his palm.
Who could’ve known that the item causing the witches and the wolves to go to war was with a mere human?
Rameses, on the other hand, seemed surprised as Dexter dodged his attack easily and was behaving nonchalantly about it.
’I have to get the stone and leave. Now that the sun is out.’ Rameses thought, struggling to stand up with the support of the spear in his hand.
"I just took it from the witches. Please, hand it over to me," Rameses pleaded, panting as he tried to recover a bit of spirit energy.
"This stone could end the war between them. What do you need it for?" Dexter asked, his eyes glowing a bright red.
"I–" The black man before him gritted his teeth. He was feeling the urge to confess, but he knew it was compulsion.@@@@
"I... I need it to save my sister!"
Dexter raised his brow in surprise, taken aback by Rameses’ confession. It was then that he remembered the condition of this one’s sister, and he looked at Rameses in silence.
"I admire your spirit. I’ll give you a chance," Dexter said, stretching his hand toward Rameses.
A blue energy-like aura came out of Dexter and went toward Rameses. In that moment, Rameses could feel his spirit energy being charged, and he frowned as he looked at Dexter.
"If I join a side, I’ll win. To give both sides a chance, you’ll have to fight for what you want. That is, if the witches aren’t involved," Dexter said, smiling at Rameses before tossing the stone back to him.
A black smoke surrounded the vampire, and he turned into a bat, flying away to a tree. Rameses, on the other hand, stood there, stunned by Dexter’s words.
Whoosh!
Rameses felt a sudden change in the air and turned around to see a large white werewolf pouncing at him with claws out.
Clank!

Tarzon’s eyes widened as he saw this, and even Trisha, who was always cheerful, had a look of annoyance on her face.
A golden light flashed past, reaching the ground before both of them.
Dexter’s black wings glistened as sunlight hit them, and with the frown on his face, it was obvious that he was also not happy with what had just happened.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?" Dexter asked as he observed the shattered stone.
"Hahahahaaaa..." Rameses could only laugh as he watched the scene unfold.
Dexter spotted multiple presences. He saw more wolves along with Teach emerge from the forest. Taking a glance at Rameses, he moved to the side.
Rameses’ eye was filled with fear as Tarzon walked past Dexter and strode toward him.
He leapt into the air, punching the human as he came down.
Bang!
"Argh..." Rameses could feel blood rise up his throat from that first blow, and the ground beneath him was crumbling.
Bang! Bang! Bang!...
It was an endless, non-lethal assault against Rameses. There was nothing he could do. It was clear that Tarzon didn’t want to kill him—at least not yet.
Rameses’ vision was already beginning to fade when he saw Tarzon’s claws extend.
"Enough of these games. You’ve had your fun," Tarzon smirked, and Rameses smirked along with him.
"I’m not going down alone."
Tarzon frowned at those words. Then, he heard a metallic humming from above and looked up to see the spear directly in front of his eyeball.
There was no way to deflect or catch it now—he was done for.
The spear suddenly stopped its descent at that moment. In mid-air, Dexter held it with one hand, stopping it from moving downward.
"What?" Rameses furrowed his brows as he saw Dexter holding the golden spear. That was the last thing he saw before his vision blacked out completely.
