Chapter 85 Echoes of Moaning
Chapter 85 Echoes of Moaning
'Okay, clearly the plan of just barging in isn't going to work, I need a new plan,' Aeric thought. 'Thankfully, I already know what to do.'
It was proof he needed. Even though it was annoying to accept, but Headmistress Lysandra was right, no one would believe him especially if it was his words against theirs. They were the Royal Institution's Headmistress and the Divine Priest.
Even though he was the Son of Starlight, he was still the abomination.
So, Aeric's best play was to get undeniable proof and that was what he was going to do.
The Deadwatch as usual, had done it's role perfectly, but this time, Aeric needed something different, even though he still set an Anchor Point just in case.
Summoning his item interface, Aeric pulled out his second artifact, the Echo Locket. It was a stunning piece of craftsmanship, small enough to fit snugly in his hand.
It also appeared very much like a locket, gleaming faintly with a silvery sheen, its surface adorned with fancy carvings of soundwaves encircling a single, iridescent gem in the center. This gem pulsed faintly, like a heartbeat, as if responding to his touch.
'I think I'll need more explanation on this item before I move forward,' Aeric thought.
The system flared to life in his mind with an answer. The ding came and the calm, mechanical voice detailed the artifact's purpose:
[Echo Locket Description]
[This enchanted locket allows the bearer to capture and store auditory phenomena within a specified radius. Stored sounds can be replayed verbatim or projected into the environment for others to hear. The locket is particularly effective at filtering extraneous noise, ensuring clarity in chaotic settings.]
[Special Abilities: Voices can be instantly traced to its real owner upon replay]
[Can create heavy echo blast which is useful in battle]
"And who's going to tell people?" Lysandra asked, glancing at the Priest then back at the Prince. "You? You plan on speaking out on what you saw today?"
Aeric tried to remember what he had done here, then he burst into a chuckle. "I mean, of course I do. Do you know how damning and egregious this is? He's a Divine Priest, he's sworn to the Divinity and to my father never to defile his Divine Body by having sex and there he was giving you his 'priestly pump meat'."
"And why would they ever believe you?" Lysandra asked, deepening her voice and furrowing her brows.
A smile stretched in Aeric's mind. A wide smile, but in real life, it only tugged at the edges of his lips. 'Go ahead,' he said in his mind, looking at her. 'Say it.'
"Do you intend to deny it?" he asked her.
"Of course I do." Headmistress Lysandra shrugged smartly. "Besides, you have no proof. You leave this place and we leave this place just the same. You have no other proof beside the allegation that you saw us here with your own eyes. And who would believe such an allegation like that?"
'Yes, she is falling right into it! Right into my trap!'
"Why wouldn't they believe me?" Aeric asked, feigning naivety.
Headmistress Lysandra hesitated for a second.
'Come on!' Aeric's mind urged her on.
"Why do you think?!" she hissed. "They hold me and the Divine Priest at a much higher esteem than they hold you, Son of Starlight. Keep this secret, anything else is a waste of time because no one would believe you."
Aeric's cold face slowly warmed up with his beautiful, dark and mischievous smile. "They may not believe it from my own words," he said as he pulled the pendant of the Echo Locket out of his pocket.
"But they will believe it from yours."
