The Villainess VTuber Rips People Apart

Chapter 113

Chapter 113

【#FantasyLeague2024】 Leviathan Team Meeting! First Live Introduction Stream! 【Hanabane Rui and 6 others】

After all that’s happened, I’d say the Leviathan team members are quite close now.

And so, the first team meeting day arrived.

“Oh, Laura, you’re here?”

As I entered the designated My Room, Valbara greeted me.

In the voice channel were me, Sora, Rui, and Valbara. Rui seemed busy, possibly setting up the broadcast.

“Did you two come together? Are you actually dating?”

“Oh, no!” Sora replied hastily.

“She was just feeling nervous, so I came with her,” I said.

Although Sora gets along with everyone, she still feels intimidated around the big seniors.

Both Rui and Valbara have been active since 2018. The oldest VTubers at EYEAI, like Rinko and Ichika, only started in 2021, making these two literal pioneers from the early days of VTubing.

“No need to be so tense, Sora! Relax, relax!”

“Y-yes!”

“Just talk casually and call us by our names. Don’t worry about little things! Wahaha!”

Valbara laughed heartily, though I wasn’t sure what was so funny.

Having collaborated with him before, I’d found him to be a generous guy. During the last stream, he even donated 20,000 yen, calling it “the manly thing to do.”

“I’ll do my best,” Sora said, looking a bit overwhelmed. It might take her a while to adjust.

Soon, the broadcast was about to start, and all the Leviathan members gathered.

“Nice to meet you all,” said our team’s owner, Gaho, in his usual deadpan tone.

His avatar looked just as unkempt as always, with bleary eyes and a scruffy appearance. I wondered if his VR avatar was based on his real-life self.

“I’m Choi Gaho of Steel Genesis. Sorry for the abruptness, but I’ll start with the team’s management plan and strategies since we need to hop into scrims later.”

It seemed he was pressed for time.

“Let’s all enjoy this. Games are ultimately for fun, and I believe creating a good team atmosphere is the most important thing, which is why I chose this group.”

Gaho looked between me and Rui.

He gave a slight nod, motioning for us to step forward, so we did.

“Since I prioritized team dynamics, some roles overlap. Specifically, Hanabane Rui and Aurora both primarily play as escape units.”

Now that he mentioned it, he was right.

I’ve played other positions before, but my main experience is with escape units. Rui, too, played escape units. I recalled the time when Rui’s escape unit nearly wiped out our entire team in a viewer collab event with Anna.

It was clear we had overlapping roles.

“This is the tentative position setup. It’s more of a tactical suggestion than a strict rule. Feel free to swap positions or try alternative setups if needed.”

Positions:

Aurora (Tier 1): Escape UnitKaga Mero (Tier 5): TankValbara Rian (Tier 3): Frontline DealerInui Kirin (Tier 4): NukerHanabane Rui (Tier 2): Sustained Damage DealerAyano Koji Sora (Tier 6): Support

“Hmm.”

The assignments were standard—frontline dealers in high tiers, with other roles spread among lower tiers. The only minor concern was the low-tier tank, but we could always swap positions if needed.

Gaho’s tone was intriguing. It sounded considerate, almost as if he was respecting our preferences rather than simply managing us.

“There’s one more thing. Our strategy is to develop Sora and Mero.”@@@@

“M-me?” Sora looked surprised as Gaho called her name.

I stopped running for a moment.

I’d suddenly felt an odd sense of foreboding.

When playing the Dark Knight escape unit, footsteps are a basic tool since the Dark Knight has poor detection abilities and relies on movement to scout for enemies.

-Bzzzzz

The buzzing grew louder as a swarm of flies approached from a distance.

It seemed the Bug Mage intended to use the flies to corral me. To prevent my escape, it extended the spider leg.

-Whoosh!

The massive spider leg, spanning several meters, quickly closed in on my position.

However, it was a thrusting attack, faster than a swing but with a more predictable trajectory, allowing me to dodge.

With a clear path, I closed the distance.

‘Left: flies, Right: centipede.’

I carefully tracked the approaching insects as I moved in.

In a match between Dark Knight and Bug Mage, Bug Mage has the slight advantage, similar to battling a Necromancer who overwhelms with minions. The Bug Mage relies on its insects.

But bugs are susceptible to the Dark Knight’s passive skill, .

Though I wore no armor today, the enemy’s damage wouldn’t be lethal in one strike.

-Flash!

The flies clung to my skin, biting me, while the centipede latched onto my shoulder.

Ignoring the pain, I lunged, sinking my sword into the Bug Mage’s body.

“Urgh?!”

It seemed they hadn’t expected me to go this far. Their eyes widened in surprise.

The Bug Mage is versatile. But in PvP games like AOS, well-rounded characters don’t necessarily have high tiers.

While the Bug Mage has decent damage, it doesn’t match the burst of the Arcane Engineer.

Its melee capabilities are solid, but it lacks the killing power of the Dual Swordsman. Though mobile, it’s slower than the Assassin, and its defense is softer compared to the Heavy Warrior.

In other words, the Bug Mage has versatility but lacks any overwhelming strengths.

So, focusing on my unique advantage—the Dark Knight’s chaotic combat style—was the way to tilt the scales.

With debuffs to weaken their attack and movement, I used and to trap and corner the Bug Mage, striking repeatedly.

Avoiding their main skill, , I forced them into a grueling battle of attrition, exposing their weaknesses.

It became a battle of skill, patience, and experience.

It was clear the Bug Mage hadn’t encountered many Dark Knights. But I’d mastered the art of attrition.

Trading blows and whittling each other down, my experience overturned our matchup disadvantage.

Thus, it was only natural that my sword found its mark at their neck.

-Squelch!

[Your Dark Knight has defeated the enemy Bug Mage.]

“Aurora here. I’ve taken down the enemy escape unit.”

[Oh! Nice~!] [Laura, you’re killing it!]

“How are things on your end?”

[Uh, over here, well...]

[Enemy Mage has defeated allied Cavalry.]

[Enemy Dual Swordsman has defeated allied Puppeteer.]

[Enemy Beast Tamer has defeated allied Battle Priest.]

[Enemy Dual Swordsman has defeated allied Spearman.]

[Enemy Beast Tamer has defeated allied Pyromancer.]

[It’s not looking good!]

Valbara’s cheerful voice filled the chat.

Though I fought hard, we ultimately lost as the enemies defeated the boss.

The road ahead is tough.
