Chapter 328 Dark Elves
Chapter 328 Dark Elves
The clash between Canna and the massive dark elf was growing fiercer by the second. Their weapons collided with brutal intensity—Canna's scythe against the dark elf's greatsword. Sparks flew with each impact, and the sheer force of their strikes reverberated through the battlefield. Canna had fought many powerful opponents, but this dark elf was different. His attacks were not only fast but carried tremendous power, forcing Canna to fight with heightened precision.
"You're good," Canna muttered under his breath as he parried another swift blow, his scythe barely managing to hold off the strength behind the dark elf's strikes. The dark elf's smirk showed that he knew exactly how much Canna was being pushed. His greatsword was an extension of his brutal strength, slashing with precision and speed that almost caught Canna off-guard.
Canna realized he couldn't keep this up without pushing further. The dark elf's strength and stamina were impressive, and Canna needed more than his usual tactics to gain the upper hand. With a swift kick to the dark elf's chest, he created just enough space to transform. As the dark elf staggered back, Canna flipped through the air and landed a few paces away, giving himself time to release his dragonkin form. Enjoy new tales from empire
In an instant, red scales erupted across Canna's body, and his eyes glowed with an intense, fiery light. A low growl echoed from his throat, building into a full roar that shook the battlefield. The moment the roar escaped his mouth, everything stopped—dark elves, humans, everyone froze and turned to face the dragonkin that stood in the center of the battlefield.@@@@
The dark elf's eyes widened in shock. He hadn't expected to be facing a dragonkin. Canna's transformation had elevated his strength and speed to new heights, and the dark elf knew his odds of victory were rapidly dwindling. His grip on his greatsword tightened, his mind racing to assess the new threat. They were already on the verge of failing their mission, and now the man in front of him had become even more dangerous.
"RETREAT!" the dark elf bellowed to his comrades. Without hesitation, the other dark elves scattered, disappearing into the surrounding forest. But Canna's focus remained fixed on the muscular dark elf leader. There would be no escape for him.
With lightning coursing through his veins, Canna moved in a blur, teleporting in front of the fleeing dark elf before he had a chance to react. The dark elf swung his greatsword with all his might, but Canna dodged effortlessly, using his superior speed to stay one step ahead.
Canna's fists crackled with energy as he unleashed a barrage of lightning-infused punches, each one landing with devastating force. The dark elf barely managed to block a few strikes before he was overwhelmed by the speed and precision of Canna's attacks. He felt his body buckle under the relentless assault, his vision swimming as blow after blow connected.
The dark elf gritted his teeth and tried to hold on, hoping that if he could endure long enough, his comrades would escape. But Canna wasn't giving him any reprieve. A hard kick sent the dark elf sprawling, and Canna was on him in an instant, delivering a series of lightning-fast strikes that left the dark elf reeling.
After what felt like an eternity of punishment, the dark elf finally collapsed to the ground, unconscious. His body was bruised and battered, his once formidable strength reduced to nothing under the relentless onslaught. Canna stood over him, breathing heavily but victorious.
Several other dark elves, still hanging upside down, began shouting, each one telling similar stories about how their children had been stolen, how they were forced to act in retaliation. Their voices were filled with anger and sorrow, and it was clear that they had been pushed to the brink.
"I see," Canna said, his expression softening slightly. "Tell me more about this. Why are you fighting in the first place?"
Before the dark elf could respond, Noctis, perched on Canna's shoulder, spoke up. "The dark elves believe that the light elves poisoned their lands, and the light elves believe the same about the dark elves. Both sides have been at war for months, with heavy casualties on both sides. This conflict has escalated beyond simple disputes."
Canna stroked his chin thoughtfully. "Poisoning each other's land, huh? That sounds like a big mess. What do we know about these two sides, Noctis? We've got elves in the sanctuary, but none like these."
Noctis nodded. "The dark elves are known for their physical prowess. They're incredibly strong fighters, able to go toe-to-toe with even the most powerful races on Sepra. However, they lack the ability to cast spells, save for those that enhance their physical abilities. That's why they excel in combat—they're some of the strongest warriors in existence."
Canna glanced at Khavi, a new appreciation for the dark elves' strength settling in. "That explains how you managed to keep up with me. Impressive."
"And the light elves?" Canna asked, looking back at Noctis.
"The light elves are the opposite. They possess vast mana reserves and excel at casting powerful spells, but their physical strength is lacking. They make up for it with their mastery of magic. In many ways, they are just as dangerous as the dark elves, but in completely different ways."
Canna nodded slowly. "This is getting more interesting by the minute. Flora, release them. Summon all the mage-types from the shock troops. And while you're at it, call for Lumivyre, the Celestial Serpent. We're going to pay the light elves a little visit."
As the dark elves were untied, they exchanged confused glances, uncertain of what was going to happen next.
