They had no intention of immediately attacking Leng family Master; they only needed to intercept him and wait for the younger generation of their families to annihilate the Leng family completely.
“As long as your Leng family hands over Leng Yanran and she becomes my attendant, I will spare your family. How about it?” Zhang Tianze turned to look at Leng Zhan, who was on guard, and said in a calm tone.
“To be honest, my lord, Yanran is not currently at home,” Leng Zhan reluctantly replied. “I ask that you have both families stand down for now. We can discuss this matter once Yanran returns.”
Though Leng Zhan was unwilling, he had to bow his head while under someone else’s roof. He could only pretend to agree for now and find a solution once Yanran came back.

Li Family Master’s purpose for attacking the Leng family was to use Yanran as a cauldron to break through his bottleneck before his time was up. If Zhang Tianze wanted Yanran as well, then Li Family Master would have no hope.
