Chapter 80 Planting The Seed
80 Planting The Seed
I could feel everyone's eyes on me as I walked into the lobby of the Eidolon Interactive building.
The news of my billionaire status had broken just hours ago and coupled with the 'attack' on Sunset Inn, I was a media sensation.
Charlie had written an impressive article, also highlighting the fact that I could finance the whole of Sunset Inn with my own personal funds if I so choose to. With this information out in the open, all rumors of Sunset Inn's instability were officially dead and buried.
This also meant that I'd started the timeline. Whether I like it or not, the news was bound to reach my stepsisters and eventually, my father.
I needed to stamp Elsa Klarsson as soon as possible.
I'd visited her office, the both of us working on the details of my plan. While I couldn't say that we were getting closer, Elsa definitely wouldn't go down that route, I could say that I was definitely making headway.
I'd managed to figure out her type. Confident men who excelled at what they did. The more wins I stack in this battle, the more attracted she'd become.
And here I was today, to meet my opponent.
I'd dropped the news of my status for two reasons. First, to show the world that I was a titan in my own right. To show them that I had power and I could use it at any time. @@@@
The second reason was the most important. To show Wang Tae Bin that I had an in at Eidolon Interactive that he could only dream of getting. I can only imagine how he'd be feeling right now.
The stories that'll be circling in his head. The fact that I had a say in the business that the company did as a majority stakeholder while he was just an outsider seeking a deal.
Not to mention the fact that with his net worth at $4 billion and mine at $3.5 billion. It had to be a mindfuck knowing that our net worths were separated by just five hundred million dollars.
"Mr. Voss, good morning." The receptionist greeted me with a smile that was just a little too wide. Her eyes lingered on me, a mixture of curiosity and awe in her gaze.
"Good morning." I replied with an easy smile, barely slowing my stride as I headed to the elevator. This place was now officially my playground.
"Given the recent developments, it's only fair that Walk Shop and Sunset Inn present one after the other. A direct comparison. Wang has already agreed to the arrangement."
My brows rose. Presenting one after the other? What did they take us for? Kids? And why did Wang agree to this? He had to be either supremely confident or desperate to outshine me. Either way, it worked in my favor. The presentation would be the final battle. I'd win over both Justin and Elsa. To win over Elsa, I only needed to keep the plan straight and display competence. As for Justin, my win would begin now by me planting the seeds of my victory.
"Fine by me." I said, keeping my tone nonchalant. "But let me ask you something, Justin."
He raised an eyebrow in interest.
"What happens if I acquire Walk Shop before the partnership deal is granted?"
He blinked in surprise before his face morphed into neutrality, hiding it away. "You're serious?"
"Completely."
He leaned back, studying me. "That would complicate things."
"Would it?" I countered. "If I own Walk Shop, it wouldn't just be about who has the better pitch. It'd be about what's best for Eidolon. Why pit one of my companies against another when I could consolidate both?"
Justin considered my words, steepling his fingers in front of him. "That's... bold. Very bold. But what makes you think you can pull it off? Wang definitely isn't in the market to sell his company."
"I have my ways." I shot him a confident grin. "And don't worry. Whether or not Wang is in the picture, I'll win this deal."
Justin's lips curved into a faint smile. "You're a dangerous man, Nico. I like that."
"Dangerous? I prefer proactive." I said, standing. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some plans to carry out."
Justin stood as well, extending a hand. "Good luck, Nico. You're going to need it."
I shook his hand firmly, meeting his gaze. "I don't believe in luck. I make my own."
