Chapter 171 Playing in the jungle!

Lucas was sitting in a corner with his eyes closed, he looked to be sleeping yet it was not it. He was meditating deeply as if nothing was disturbing at all, not even the loud laughs and talks that everyone was indulged in.

John didn't want to disturb the guy, he knew that Luas was already done with the stat increase process. He knew this because Lucas was sitting near the center before as he had joined him later, and now he was at the corner.

He may have looked to be in some process but that was not the case at all. Lucas was just very tired and he, while meditating was also in a half-sleeping state.

After a few minutes, Lucas opened his eyes and looked at the group again, There were many people who were just frolicking around while some were still sitting on the ground.

Lucas saw John, Jerry, and Sean who were already done, he was relieved that the people that started with him were now done.

Now, Sarah was sitting in the lotus position, with her were Barney and Sandra. The ones who were left who didn't get the stat increase were Ella, Bill, and Haley.

'They have their reasons'

Lucas got up and looked in the center where the chest was supposed to be, it was gone from the runic circle as everyone seemed to have already gotten their potions and papers.

"Everyone!" Lucas shouted to get their attention, many looked toward him, and the ones who were busy just feigned ignorance.

"Today, we have become stronger again, Now it would have been troublesome if the overseer didn't tell us the way to the reward room so we should be grateful to her." Lucas stopped, a happy smile on his face, and continued, "After these people are done, we will leave for the shelter and have a break for a day. No one has to work for the shelter or the mandatory training."

The people that were awake gave different reactions, while some nodded in agreement, There were also people who didn't do anything, not even an emotional change on their faces.

Lucas didn't care, he knew that they were tired and were just in need of rest like him.

Time passed and he kept on half sleeping, Lucas was even more comfortable now that he knew that people like Jerry and John were protecting the group too.

Time seemed to go by slowly when finally, an hour passed.

"Haahh... I am finally done." Sarah who took a yawn in exhaustion

"You seem to glow too, Sarah. Is the stat increase doing something to all your faces?" Ella asked with interest, She knew that she had to tear that page and get those stat points quickly yet she didn't think it was time for her.

"I am too tired, Aunt Ella." Sarah went and kept her face on Ella's shoulder who in turn caressed the girl's hair to help her calm down.@@@@

After a few minutes, even Sandra and Barney were up but unfortunately, they didn't get the time to properly rest as the group started marching toward the shelter the second these two were done with the stat increase.

Everyone got out of the dungeon and the road to the shelter started.

Sarah seemed to realize this and after getting some confidence boost, she took a few steps back and saw a branch just a few meters away from Lucas. She wanted to just climb it and be with him in this enjoyment.

She sprinted and finally jumped without getting that boost from the trunk, many saw the trajectory when she went past some random branches to move up. No one could have believed such a frail girl could do something like this.

Sarah kept flying up with the force she had used on the ground, she was very close to the branch she had selected, and within a second, she was very near it until his motions stopped.

She knew she was going to fall down now. The adrenaline had made her not think about the consequences of falling from a height like this, her eyes closed thinking that she would first bash her head to the trunk because of her slanting trajectory.

Sarah's eyes opened in bewilderment, she looked up at her arm and saw a hand grabbing it tight. She forcefully looked up as the neck couldn't go anymore backward.

"I got you," Lucas said while using one hand to grab the branch and the other to hold a 60 kilo woman.

His face wasn't fazed at all as if the pressure of her weight was nothing. He was even smiling warmly toward her.

"HUUPP!!" Lucas grunted and made Sarah come up with only one hand. Sarah looked at the branch that was coming closer to her and grabbed it the second she had it inside her arm range.

"HUff... HUff... That was scary!" She exclaimed while holding the branch with both her hands. It didn't seem to put even the slightest pressure on her as if her muscles and bones were properly accustomed to it.

"So romantic~"

"A Damsel in distress, hehehe~ Way to go, Sarah~"

Sarah heard the voices of the two girls and blushed hard, She could not make eye contact with Lucas right now as her embarrassment was at its peak.

The two boys on the other branches grumbled, they had great moods when they climbed the branches but seeing such a situation made them feel jealous of Lucas who seemed to always have some sort of one thing or another with Sarah.

Sandra who was always calm and composed, with a bit of a scary face, had the ability of becoming way too friendly and teasing at the right times. No one could understand that mind of hers.

Sarah who was looking up mustered her strength to finally look to her right where Lucas should have been. her eyes widened again and a squeak was going to come out but she held it inside.

'What!!!????' Her mind went berserk looking at Lucas with a warm smile while looking at her. He was just a few inches away at the same branch that she just reaized.

It seemed it was the season of romance in the plains of Amareron for just the two of them while the others just looked from the sidelines.
