"Hey, cra– Miss Kusanagi, we should get going. I think the monster is gone..."

"Huh? Ah, yes, let's go..."

After surviving a tense situation together, the two inevitably felt a wee bit closer.

Even though they didn't battle the enormous and deadly monster, the experience of sharing and hiding together in a tiny space, breathing heavily with anxiety, and praying that the (S) ranked creature wouldn't detect them, was enough to foster a slight sense of camaraderie.

As a result, Lesurii became more inclined to stay close to Siegfried, especially after getting a close-up view of him and catching a slight whiff of his pleasing scent.

On the other hand, Siegfried didn't seem to be that affected by what happened, leaving the young miss of the Kusanagi clan a bit disappointed.

She didn't seem to notice her own emotions, though.

Hence, after regaining her composure, she followed Siegfried, who had already started walking ahead of her while looking at the map in his hands.

Shortly after, she moved to the front again, activating her detection skill.

This time, however, they didn't encounter any dangerous situations and successfully reached the area where their target, an (S-) ranked Nether Griffin, had built its nest.

Since there were only three redwood trees, the duo easily spotted the nest.

Moreover, it seemed that luck was on their side, as the Nether Griffin was also right there in its nest, sleeping peacefully.

"Wait here, I'll stab its eye and lure it down," Lesurii whispered, climbing the huge redwood tree shortly after.

However, she didn't expect that before she could get far, a masculine hand pulled her back.

"Wait! According to my research, Nether Griffins scatter a few nether orbs that are difficult for the human eye to spot. If you make physical contact with these orbs, they will alert the creature to intruders." Siegfried said, retrieving an item he prepared in advance from his spatial bag and handing it over to Lesurii before continuing:

"Here, use these nether lenses to navigate through the nether orbs. Don't push yourself too hard, understood? If taking its eye is impossible, just lure it down here. Your safety comes first."

Hearing Siegfried's words, the young miss of the Kusanagi Clan stared at the nether lenses like an idiot for a few moments before managing to regain her wits.

...Drawing her dagger from its sheath, purple flames silently ignited along the blade's edges, threatening to not only stab the creature's eye but also incinerate it.

She didn't attack immediately; instead, she signaled Siegfried to get ready to catch her first.

Then, upon confirming that he was already in position, Lesurii ruthlessly plunged the dagger deep into the Nether Griffin's right eye using her skill, [Bloody Stab Lv.5], leaving the creature screeching in agony and flailing wildly.

Of course, this slight window was her cue to get the hell out of there as quickly as possible.

Jumping from a height of just over a hundred meters, Lesurii headed straight for Siegfried's embrace, her anticipation evident even though she wasn't aware of it.

Siegfried didn't notice, though, as he was fully focused on catching the Kusanagi Clan's banished young miss, ensuring that their lips wouldn't make contact this time.

*THUD!*

A dull thud echoed as Siegfried flawlessly caught the falling young maiden in a princess carry.

Unfortunately, the Nether Griffin's response to the attack was too fast, not even giving Lesurii time to stand on her own two feet.

As a result, Siegfried carried her while running, making her heart flutter romantically, even though a massive avian creature was hot on their heels.

The young man was simply becoming more and more attractive in her eyes.

Her delusions were cut short, however, when she suddenly felt herself flying through the air.

Siegfried...threw her away as though she was a random ball.

However, quickly glancing at the handsome youngster from Colzen Academy, the anger in her heart immediately vanished.

It appeared that she had been thrown to safety while Siegfried took a hit himself.

Although he managed to block the Nether Griffin's massive talon attack, he was sent flying shortly afterward, spitting out a mouthful of blood as his back slammed against the trunk of another enormous redwood tree.
