Chapter 662 Strategizing
Chapter 662 Strategizing
Shye involuntarily drew a sharp breath upon glimpsing the Phoenix's status window.
For the first time, the level four system failed to gauge a monster's agility, indicating it exceeded at least a thousand.
Shye wasn't sure if they could even stand a chance against such a creature.
If it kept flying at such an absurd speed while unleashing devastating blasts and beams from its beak, they would have no hope of defeating it—unless they could find a way to pin it down.
Taking advantage of the fact that none of the four fully knew his abilities, Shye claimed he had somehow caught a glimpse of the Phoenix's attributes.
He expressed his concerns, informing them that the Phoenix's agility exceeded a thousand points—far beyond what they could handle.
Its strength, intelligence, dexterity, stamina, and wisdom were almost equal to those of apex (S) ranked creatures as well.
The Phoenix's only weakness was its surprisingly low vitality, something Shye hadn't expected given its reputation for resurrecting through a fiery rebirth.
The other four were naturally curious as to how he "got a glimpse" of the mythical monster's attributes.
However, now wasn't the time to probe Shye's abilities, as they were all slightly shaken by the sight of the Phoenix and its capabilities.
It was best to focus on strategizing first.
The clash between the Phoenix and the Wind Dragon looked like it would drag on for a while, anyway.
None of them doubted Shye's words, though, as not only was there no reason for him to lie, but his status as a hero, something even they had not achieved, made them more inclined to trust his words.
They believed he wouldn't be so stupid as to lie to them just to show off at such a crucial moment.@@@@
After a brief discussion, they decided to retreat, with Midnight Fang leaving behind an invisible mana sentry to monitor the Phoenix periodically.
"Good, we at least have a single attempt, then," Shye said, prompting the other four's eyebrows to raise in curiosity as they awaited his explanation.
"Here's the plan: Midnight Fang, use your [Dead Man Walking] skill to conceal Radiant Sentinel's aura and presence from the Phoenix. He must not be detected, or I'll have to call for a retreat." Continue reading at My Virtual Library Empire
The four seasoned adventurers were quick-witted, so they grasped Shye's plan immediately, even before he had a chance to explain it in detail.
"I see, leave it to me." Midnight Fang nodded.
Subsequently, before Shye could say anything else, Radiant Sentinel suddenly muttered something to himself.
Although he was only whispering, his voice was loud enough for everyone to hear.
"Hmm...I see...then I will taunt the creature, giving Frozen End a chance to encase it in an icy tomb..."
He basically explained the plan for Shye, saving him the effort of doing so.
Frozen End nodded in agreement.
However, there was one thing she couldn't wrap her head around: how would they finish the Phoenix off?
"I see, a good plan." She began, turning her head to look at Shye. "But I'm afraid my ultimate skill might not be strong enough to take it down, even if I manage to encase it in an icy tomb. I also doubt Piercing Zephyr's arrows would reach deep into its body without turning to ashes. And as for Midnight Fang..."
"Heh, of course, I won't be able to get anywhere near that thing," the older man chimed in with a slightly self-deprecating laugh of helplessness.
They did everything they could to prepare for the mission.
However, it quickly became clear to them that it still wasn't enough. The Phoenix was far stronger and more dangerous than they had anticipated.
"Don't worry, leave the finishing blow to me..."
