Flashy Adventurer System : Show Off to Get Stronger!

Chapter 666 Ablaze

Chapter 666 Ablaze

'What?!'

Shye was greatly distracted by the notification in front of him, almost allowing the Phoenix to break free of their tussle.

Their success relied greatly on whether someone could hold the mythical monster down in place.

Hence, should the flaming bird escape from his grasp, then it would've been game over for them.

'Oh sh*t...that was close...you're not escaping.' Shye inwardly thought as he gritted his teeth, plunging his greatswords deeper into the Phoenix's body and using it as a tool to hold it in place.

Despite having [Intermediate Fire Resistance] from his Earth Dragon Armor Set and his recently mastered [Greater Fire Resistance] skill, which he had maxed out using system points, Shye could still feel his skin gradually scorching from the intense heat radiating off the mythical creature.

He knew he had to finish the fight—and quickly.

Nonetheless, knowing that somehow, his battle with the Phoenix was being broadcast live, Shye's heart pounded with excitement, and adrenaline surged through his veins.

Hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions, were watching! He had to seize this opportunity and put on the best display he could.

Fortunately, the daring plan he had devised earlier revolved around him risking his life to face the Phoenix head-on, leaving the four titled adventurers with no choice but to support him as best they could.

He was the main character.

If he managed to pull it off perfectly, it would be raining system points.

Pumped up, Shye pulled out one of his greatswords from the Phoenix's body and kept it on the sword strap behind him, ensuring he could still benefit from his acquired talent, [Greatsword Meister].

He then skillfully used the remaining greatsword to maneuver himself onto the Phoenix's back, locking its neck in an arm choke.

With the creature restrained, he retrieved the second greatsword, returning it to the other sword strap before retrieving Sigrun—one of his recently made elemental staffs.

Using the metal base of his staff, he anchored himself on the Phoenix's back, pressing it against the flaming bird's neck in a chokehold, with the support of his other arm.

'F*CK! THIS BIRD IS LITERALLY ON FIRE!!' Shye cursed inwardly as the skin on his forearms burned to a charred black.

Unfortunately, he couldn't retreat, and he would never.

'I wonder how you'd look all withered? Gravitational Drain!'

"Everyone, retreat further!!" Shye shouted with great effort as he knelt on one knee, his burned body too weak to move.

"Crowley! But what about you?!" Frozen End exclaimed anxiously, rushing forward in an attempt to save him.

However, given the egg's current condition, it was on the verge of exploding, leaving her no time to help.

Midnight Fang recognized this as well, swiftly grabbing his female comrade by the waist and pulling her away from Shye.

"Midnight Fang! Let go of me!" Frozen End protested, trying to blink away from Midnight Fang.

Unfortunately, the veteran scout anticipated her actions and had already immobilized her shadow using one of his skills, preventing her from attempting to save Shye.

"Don't be foolish, Frozen End. You know there isn't enough time," the older titled adventurer replied stoically, concealing his distress at having to leave the youngest and most talented among them to fend for himself.

Moments later...

*BOOM!*

A horrifying explosion erupted as the Phoenix Egg shattered into thousands of flaming shards that scattered in all directions, creating a massive crater below, with Shye caught within the blast radius.

"C-Crowley!"

"CROWLEY!!!"

As they watched the kneeling hero engulfed by the explosion, everyone, including the onlookers, was filled with horror.

There was no way anyone could survive such a devastating blast of primordial flame energy.

Shortly after, gray smoke enveloped the entire summit of the charred mountain, leaving the fate of the young ashen-haired hero uncertain.

"Big brother... you must survive..."

Inside the Raven's Blade Balkrow Branch headquarters, Maia looked on in horror as her older brother was devoured by the terrifying explosion.

She knew she wouldn't have survived such a blast, which only heightened her anxiety for Shye's safety, her hands trembling with fear and denial.

Meanwhile, a few spectators watched with a hint of schadenfreude—those who despised Shye or had been defeated by him in the past.

They eagerly anticipated the moment when the gray smoke would clear, revealing the charred remains of who had once been Valenzia's most talented youth.
