Chapter 62 Quidditch Matches: Winning and Losing
Chapter 62 Quidditch Matches: Winning and Losing
Continuing from the previous episode.
Flint was initially reluctant to fight, but coveting the Malfoy family's Nimbus 2000s, he nodded in agreement and called out to Wood:
"So, Wood, how about a match with us?"
Wood and Flint were at odds, and Wood was even less willing to be outdone by him. He was willing to go through fire and water to compete with him, let alone just have a Quidditch match.
He nodded and said, "Okay, October 2nd, are you in?"
It should be known that Harry possesses an amazing talent for flying. With just ten days or half a month of training, he will surely undergo a complete transformation and become a sensation.
Seeing that Wood had set the time for half a month later, Flint breathed a sigh of relief.
It should be noted that Draco's flying talent is really average. If his father hadn't agreed to sponsor him with seven light wheels for 2000, how could he have been included in the team?
"Okay, let's set it for October 2nd!"
After saying that, the men from the Lion and Snake Academies each occupied half of the training ground to practice.
Within half a day, news of the Quidditch match in October had spread throughout the entire school.
Not only Gryffindor and Slytherin, but also Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff were all very interested. For three meals a day, the Great Hall was filled with talk about who would win and who would lose the duel.
From then on, whenever Harry had free time, he would go to the training ground to practice his Flying Fetch. If he had free time at night, he would also go to the Gryffindor common room with Wood and the others to practice tactics.
For weeks on end, aside from Flitwick and Snape, Harry had no interest in going to the library to find a way to sneak in.
Seeing this, Ron and Hermione had no choice but to go alone at night. Ron was useless and couldn't understand these forbidden books, so he had to rely on Hermione to find them, which slowed things down considerably.
Seeing this, Hermione stopped insisting and decided to wait until Harry won the competition before discussing it further.
As October passed, the Quidditch competition intensified. Wood, in particular, was like a madman, squeezing every spare moment into the training ground to practice.
Even regular classes would be skipped from time to time.
"Fred, George, stop fooling around. Do you remember what Harry said?"
"Aria, increase the speed a bit more!"
On the field, Wood shouted repeatedly, which annoyed Aria.
"How much faster can I go? Comet 7's speed limit is right here!"
"Then let's lose some more weight!"
"I might as well have the Dementors suck my soul away too; maybe that would be easier!"
The two were so engrossed in arguing that Harry, displeased, shouted, "Shut up, both of you!"
It should be noted that Harry has a good reputation in the team and is a master of tactics and strategy, so everyone respects him.
Wu De was furious, but remained silent. Ailiya was indignant, but also kept quiet.
Seeing that neither of them spoke up, Harry said, "Brother Wood, that's asking too much. What if we cut off a few more pieces of flesh?"
"But—Harry, do you really want to lose to Slytherin?"
Harry laughed and said, "Brother, don't panic, I've already made arrangements."
After saying this, he called everyone to go with him to the lounge.
Although Wood and the others were puzzled, they followed along. When they entered the lounge and saw the seven wrapped brooms on the sofa, they were all stunned.
"Oh, Harry, you bought a flying broomstick?"
"This is too extravagant," Fred said, shaking his head. "My Comet 5 can actually last a long time."
As they talked, they all went to take apart the cloth to look at it. Just one glance made them dizzy and their legs weak.
"Ha, Harry." Wood swallowed hard. "This is Nimbus 2001."
George and the others also snapped out of their daze and exclaimed in surprise, "Mine too!"
"Harry! You bought seven of them?!"
Everyone stared in disbelief at the broom; it was Nimbus 2001! The latest flying broom model!
A single one would cost at least two thousand Galleons, right?
Arya snapped out of her daze and quickly said, "Oh, Harry, you rented it, right?"
Angelina gasped, "How much a day? I need to check if I have enough money."
Harry was displeased by his words. "Why are you speaking so formally, sister? I bought it as a gift to you all. Why should I charge you any money?"
Wood exclaimed, "So you really bought it?!"
"Oh dear! Brother, why would I say such things? How could I possibly deceive you?"
"Harry!"
Wood leaped to his feet, rushed to Harry, and gave him a tight hug. "I love you so much!"
