Chapter 214 Magic Array Studies from Scratch
"Did you hear? Professor Hamilton patted Luna on the head!"
"What? That old man actually did that to a student—"
"I'm talking about Professor Hamilton, who studies magic arrays!"
"What?! I want one too!"
In Hufflepuff's common room, a group of badger cubs sat together chattering away, mostly discussing what had happened in their magic circle class that morning.
Ezreal, the founder of the Pinecone Party, sat in the middle of the sofa, looked seriously at the Pinecone Party members present, and coughed.
"Who spread this news? Can its veracity be confirmed?"
"That's what Hermione said. I overheard it at lunchtime in the Great Hall."
"It's Miss Granger?" Izeris nodded slightly upon hearing this. "So, when is our magic array class?"
"I think it's tomorrow morning?" a little badger thought for a moment and said, "I glanced at the timetable when I was eating breakfast this morning."
"Tomorrow morning, huh—" Ezreal nodded slightly and slowly stood up. "Now that some Pinecone Party members have already gotten there first—we can't fall behind!"
"I hereby announce that an operation entitled 'Operation to Win Professor Hamilton's Praise' will begin tonight, after dinner!"
"Why always during meals?"
"Because we're badgers, right?"
"Isn't this a bit of a stereotype?"
"You guys better get serious!" Ezreal slammed his hand on the table.
Amidst the commotion, the Pinecone Party members began their battle to win praise from Professor Hamilton—which might have been just an amusing episode at Hogwarts.
But that wasn't the case for Harry.
"Why is the library so crowded tonight?" Harry walked into the library and pursed his lips—he had originally planned to check if there were any books related to magic circles—
As a result, the library was packed with people.
"They look kind of familiar—" Hermione, who came with Harry, raised an eyebrow and said thoughtfully, "They're all Pinecones."
"Huh?" Harry paused for a moment, then asked somewhat curiously, "Do you have any activities planned for today?"
"I don't quite understand—" Hermione scratched her head and grabbed a badger that was walking by: "What's going on here—Vestapen?"
"Ah—Miss Granger—" The badger raised an eyebrow when he saw Hermione and said, "Isn't it a little too late to come now?"
"But don't worry, we will carry on your wishes—we will earn Professor Hamilton's praise."
""
"What?" Hermione and Harry exchanged a glance, watching the little badger quickly leave.
"It seems they did it all to get—Professor Hamilton's praise—" Hermione muttered in surprise, "That seems a bit too much of a coincidence."
Professor Hamilton's praise? Harry thought of Professor Hamilton gently patting Luna's head—
"It's not a coincidence at all," Harry said, blushing. "I'm just—just interested in magic circles."
"Really?" Hermione gave a knowing smile. "I know you've been buying Chocolate Frogs a lot lately."
"I—I just had a craving for chocolate frogs," Harry said somewhat awkwardly. "Nothing else."

"Really?" Hermione shrugged and said casually as she walked, "What a pity—I bought a bag of Chocolate Frogs the other day."

"I drew the latest card—it seems to be—Professor Hamilton?"
"Cough cough cough—" Harry coughed violently, quickly catching up with Hermione, saying as he walked, "Can I see it?"
"Take a look?" Hermione shrugged, a little puzzled. "Didn't you already see it with Ron?"
"He's hiding." Harry shook his head helplessly.
"Hiding?" Hermione's smile immediately turned strange. "Does he always talk about Professor Hamilton?"
"No, not at all." Harry shook his head, then, as if realizing something, said, "What do you mean by 'always'?"
"I didn't—"
"Of course you don't. I'm talking about myself." Hermione smiled again, raised an eyebrow, and took out a chocolate card from her pocket. Although Harry could only see the back, he was sure it was Professor Hamilton.
Seeing Harry staring intently at the Chocolate Frog card in her hand, Hermione blinked and said, "I think I have a new card—if someone wants to—"
"To share his admiration for Professor Hamilton, I wouldn't mind sharing one with him."
"Hermione!" Harry, realizing she was teasing him, said angrily, "I didn't—"
"Alright, alright." Hermione saw that he seemed angry, so she smiled gently and handed the card to Harry: "Now that you've taken my Chocolate Frog card, you should study hard."
"You haven't opened the library in ages, have you? — Go back and tell Ron to come study at the library too — It's not good to always be watching Quidditch and stuff — Are you even listening to me?"
Hermione rolled her eyes at Harry, who was holding the cards, and then picked up her small bag and threw it at him.
"Ah! Sorry!" Harry was startled by the hit and instinctively stuffed the card into his pocket.
"You boys," Hermione said, shaking her head helplessly, "Professor Hamilton is very beautiful—and very cute—"
"But she's a professor," she reminded him. "Harry, you're a student—your job is to study hard."
"But they didn't pay me for it—I'm the one paying Hogwarts—" Harry's mutterings infuriated Hermione. She shook her head and punched Harry, making him stumble back a few steps, clutching his arm.
"I'm just reminding you that Professor Hamilton will only pay attention to you if you study hard," Hermione said, shaking her head.
"So that's why you studied magic arrays so diligently?"
Hermione coughed awkwardly after Harry's comment, "Of course—of course not."
"I'm actually quite interested in magic circles, aren't I?" She pursed her lips, casually took a book from the bookshelf, and handed it to Harry, silencing him before he could say anything.
"You can take a look at this book first—this book too—hmm?" Hermione, noticing something, turned around and saw Harry smiling and the book in his hand.
What is a magic circle? Listen to Lockhart!
"It seems you still can't forget Lockhart."
"No—no!" Hermione snatched the book and threw it on the ground. "How come this kind of book is still in the library?"
"I clearly saw Headmaster Dumbledore throw them all out!"
"Maybe I'm a Lockhart fan like you—oh, I'm so sorry!" Harry said, covering his ears as he apologized.
