Ivy Beatrice suddenly had a curious idea.
She mobilized her mental energy to extract the souls of two red dragons from the six souls she had just absorbed, and slowly injected them into Steo's body along Steo's snake hair.
"Uh…"
Stewart stared wide-eyed in disbelief. The instant the soul was injected, she felt a chilling current flow from the top of her head, enveloping her entire body.
The next second, she trembled violently, foamed at the mouth, and fainted.
While watching Medusa's physical changes, Ivy Beatrice was also distracted by the black hole disk of the mental phenomenon.
Sure enough, as Steo quieted down again, the golden demonic script changed:
Generic name: Steo
Medium-sized humanoid monster
Life Level: d "Medusa" + d "Treasure Thief"
Special attacks: Petrifying Gaze, Poison, Evasion of Dragons

It worked!
Ivy Beatrice was thrilled.
Hesrati once granted Patrick the ability to absorb souls with the "Crimson Kiss" to create orbs, thereby enhancing the combat power of his subordinates.
Even at crucial moments, Hesladi can descend into the body of someone who has used the orb.
She was born with the ability to absorb souls to enhance her own strength. Now she has seized Patrick's "Crimson Kiss" and absorbed the divinity of a dragon head from Hesladi.
There's no reason why she can't do what Hesladi and Patrick can do!
Ivy Beatrice even had a feeling:
If she so desires, she can also bestow upon Medusa the professions of "Rogue," "Assassin," and "Priest," which were infused into the two souls within Steo.
She thought about it carefully and didn't do it.
The six-armed serpent demon ignored the six corpses on the ground and used a magic scroll of "Advanced Teleportation" to send the still unconscious Medusa back to Beate Island to recuperate.
She then returned to Dukin's attic.
The six-armed serpent demon drew its sword and cut off one of the "Koi" dragon's hands. Then it collected the "Koi's" corpse and used the severed hand as a medium to cast "Mortal Skin".
A few minutes later, the exhausted "koi" staggered out of the courtyard and disappeared into the alley behind it.
However, since Ivy Beatrice didn't go to the dungeon to replenish the morgue's inventory, she didn't contact Raphael the Terrorclaw, and thus missed the news that the dwarf Shadowcraft mage had broken into the dungeon and escaped.
Chapter 188 The Chaos of Dujin
As soon as Ivy Beatrice entered the alley, she quickened her pace and, after several twists and turns, walked onto another street.
Once she was sure no one was following her, she slowed her pace, carefully observing her transformed body while reaching into her pocket to examine the items she had taken from the "Koi's" corpse, trying to find clues about its identity. This was because a "mortal's body" could transform into the appearance of a corpse, but it couldn't inherit the corpse's memories.
First of all, "Koi" is a woman.
She is likely a hybrid of a red dragon and a white dragon. She has red dragon horns on her head, but her nose is as smooth as a white dragon's. Her figure is petite and slender for a dragon, with strong muscles beneath her scales, and calluses on her hands from wielding swords and boxing, making her look like a well-trained warrior.
The koi fish carried few items with it, including two gold coins and a dozen silver coins.
Ivy Beatrice also found a small notebook.
She flipped through it and saw that it contained a household ledger. She confirmed that the koi's name was Agatha Jagabu, a member of a branch of the Kantrijab family, and that she was the lover and bodyguard of the "Spotted Scales" slave trader.
If Ivy Beatrice were to return to the Canterbury family, she could use that identity to compete for the inheritance and resources of the "Spotted Scales" slave traders.
But after thinking about it, she decided against it.
The main members of the Kantrijaben family all died by her sword, and now the family business is a piece of fat meat that everyone is vying for, just like the fallen Beate family of the City of Flame.
Ivy Beatrice didn't want to get her energy tied up in this kind of thing.
The geographical location of the Dukin city-state—or now it should be called the Dukin Republic—is extremely important.
This city is located at the northwest corner of the sea.
Heading east along the main road, past a coastal city-state lies the silver dragon city of Kiogu. Heading south along the main road for four days' journey leads to the gold dragon city-state. North of Dujin lies a mountain range, which happens to be the dividing line between the territories of the red dragon lord's two sons, who call themselves "Kings of Dragons."
In the time leading up to the arrival of the delegation from the City of Flames in Keogu, Ivy Beatrice simply wanted to be a decent entertainer, waiting for an opportunity to do something and see if she could influence the political situation along the coast.
As she walked, she curiously observed the street scene in Dujin.
This isn't a slum, but the buildings are very densely packed, with the streets lined with the walls of large, secluded courtyards. These walls are very high, easily seven or eight meters. The already narrow cobblestone streets are sandwiched between these high walls, making them appear even more gloomy and cramped. The alleyways we passed earlier were so narrow that only one person could pass at a time, and there was hardly anyone in sight.
Ivy Beatrice witnessed two murders in a single glance.
It happened somewhere far away.
Two dragons on the street corner appeared to be arguing. Suddenly, one of them sprang to his feet, brandishing a warhammer and striking the other on the head. The dragon was killed instantly. The killer then swaggered away.
The other one is right in the middle of the street, not far ahead.
Three dragons with mixed-colored scales blocked the path of a man and a woman hurrying by. The couple surrounded, also with mixed-colored scales, watched the three of them warily and slowly retreated. However, they didn't notice that a tall, thin dragon suddenly emerged from a narrow alleyway not far behind them.
The tall, thin man silently approached the pair of dragons from behind, pulled out a dagger, and with a swift movement, slit the man's throat.
As the woman turned her head in a panic, the three dragons blocking her path rushed forward and stabbed her to death amidst her cries. Then, four thugs gleefully crouched around the two of them and began looting the bodies.
Ivy Beatrice looked around and found there were no law enforcement officers in sight. Passersby continued to walk by indifferently, not giving the corpse or the murderer a second glance.
It seems that public order in this city has collapsed.
Just then, she heard a roar: "What are you looking at, her mother!"
Ivy Beatrice then noticed that the four men who had been looting the corpse had stood up again, pulled out daggers, and were fanning out to surround her.
Their eyes were bloodshot with excitement.
She tilted her head.
The next second, the least tastefully dressed of the four was already sprawled against the high wall on the side of the street. His upper and lower body were separated, but his intestines were still connected despite the broken waist, so he stubbornly didn't die.
Ivy Beatrice calmly watched as the man's upper body rolled around on the ground, grabbing his intestines and screaming in terror and pain.
A sharp black sword with green runes appeared in her hand.
The other three thugs were stunned and stood frozen in place, not daring to move, like three insects frozen in amber.
The koi fish spoke:
"Three of you, if you don't want to die, please take off your clothes."
Upon hearing the phrase "if you don't want to die," the three men felt as if they had heard divine music. They hurriedly did as instructed, frantically stripping off all their clothes, leaving nothing behind, not even their underwear.
During this time, the screams of the half-brother rolling on the ground were like background music for the three of them taking off their clothes.
"Please throw it over, thank you."
So, a jumble of clothes was thrown around Jinli's feet. One of the clever ones thought for a moment, then threw his weapon, along with the wallet and other loot he'd just gotten from the corpse, all at once. The other two followed suit and surrendered.
The koi looked down.
"Thank you for your cooperation."
The three dragons breathed a sigh of relief.
The next second, the black sword with green runes flashed again.
The three dragon heads rolled across the street with a clattering sound, crashed into the courtyard wall on the other side, and bounced back.
Ivy-Beate used a clever trick when she swung her sword, causing the three headless bodies to fall backward. This way, the blood spurting from the necks of the three dragons wouldn't stain the clothes that were thrown at her.
She sheathed her sword, carefully selected a few pieces of clothing from among the many, put on an outfit that suited her aesthetic sense, and changed out of her blood-soaked old clothes.
Ivy Beatrice was satisfied.
The koi fish, with its red and white scales, looks quite good in this round-neck red and white striped shirt and these dark gray mid-length trousers.
By this time, the screams of those being cut in half were barely audible.
Ivy Beatrice saw a dragon with its head tilted to the ground, its eyes looking at her blankly yet venomously, as if questioning why she had broken her promise.
She scoffed and stepped over it.
—Does it matter to me whether I kill you or not if you don't want to die?
Chapter 189 A New Foothold
Ivy Beatrice, now known as "Agatha Jabber," casually chopped down two more thugs along the way, and after figuring out the general layout of the city, she turned and headed towards the chaotic port area.
This is probably a common problem in coastal cities; the closer to the port, the more chaotic the area, with all sorts of people from the lower classes living together.
This applies to both the fiery city of Kiogu and Dujin.
Ivy-Beate walked downhill along the cobblestone path and entered the port area.
As you get here, you can already smell the salty sea breeze, and you can see rows of low houses on both sides of the road.
The vast majority of these houses were built from scraps of inferior ship planks, offering absolutely no sound insulation. Ivy Beatrice could hear shouting, crying children, and moaning from intimate acts between men and women as she walked down the street.
But these houses are also very beautiful.
Unlike the previous drab and cold high-walled courtyards, the poor residents here have tried their best to decorate their houses with all sorts of bright colors.
Looking around, you see indigo roofs and bright red and yellow walls.
People walking in the middle of the street feel as if they are walking into a painting.
Ivy Beatrice wandered around the port area and found the room that looked most pleasing to the eye.
Although the house isn't tall, it's quite spacious. The walls are a bluish-green, constructed from stone, sea sand, and coral, with the seams filled with a highly adhesive mixture of shellfish secretions. The ceiling is made of thin planks, which the owner painted bright yellow. There's a fenced yard in front.
Ivy-Beate saw two reclining chairs on the porch, each occupied by a lazy dragon. The door was open, and one dragon was leaning against the doorframe. Upon seeing Ivy-Beate pass by, the three dragons immediately became wary of her, drawing their daggers and clubs.
Ivy Beatrice walked past the house without looking to either side, and heard them whistling at her retreating figure.
She turned a corner outside the two houses ahead, entered the alley, and then cast "Advanced Teleportation".
The next second, she appeared on the bright yellow rooftop.
Ivy-Beate used "Detect Mortals" to easily scan the houses below. After pinpointing the locations of several dragons, she took out a gold coin that "Agatha Jagab" always carried and tossed it towards the back door of the house. It landed on the ground with a "clink" sound.
She listened quietly, when urgent footsteps sounded from the window next to the back door. Once outside, she practically ran towards the gold bricks.
Meanwhile, Ivy Beatrice deftly flipped off the roof and silently slipped into another window next to the back door.
The room through this window is the bedroom.
There were two beds in the bedroom, each containing three mummified corpses, some of whom had been dead for several months. Two of the corpses were on the large bed, while the other was in a crib.
The salty sea breeze preserved the bodies of the family of three perfectly, without even the smell of decay.
Ivy Beatrice recalled the thugs she had slashed on the street earlier, who had confessed that the chaos in Dugin had caused prices to skyrocket and many people in the city had starved to death. This family must have been one of them.
After the owner died, gangsters occupied the house as their base, but they were too lazy to clean the rooms, so they only occupied the living room and other rooms, leaving the family of three to lie in the bedroom until now.
She heard light footsteps returning to the window next door, separated by a wall.
A loud voice came from the direction of the front door: "What's wrong?"
"It's nothing," the thug who picked up the gold coin replied without batting an eye, "I misheard."
The dragon seed at the front gate cursed.
The "Mortal Detection" system relayed the information about the living beings it scanned back to Ivy-Beate: There were a total of eight dragon bastards in the house. Three were at the front door, one at the back door, and four more were resting in another room.
So she found the magical scroll of "manipulating corpses" that she had plundered from the Ottokan family treasury.
So the family of three lying in bed quickly got up and began cleaning for their new owners with great enthusiasm. However, their stiff joints, now that they were zombies, made cracking and popping sounds with each movement.
