Chapter 98 Friends, See You in the Future
Yu Lian led the ancient priests to set up an extremely large altar in a secluded valley.
At the very center of the altar was a life support capsule formed from ancient crystal and light.
This is a static force field that Yuzare created specifically for Kaul using data from the Guard Corps and combining the light of the Giants of Light.
Kaul lay quietly inside the life support capsule.
His wounds were no longer visible, but the damage was still there. His face was pale, and his chest was rising and falling slightly. The combat device was placed beside him; it was something he had risked his life to protect, and now there were no monsters inside it.
"Preliminary preparations are complete," Yu Lian said, standing in front of the life support pod. She turned around and looked at the giants surrounding the altar.
Ultraman Tiga, Camilla, Darramb, Hitler, Daga, and Gedi in his golden-haired form are all currently in human-sized form, standing at the edge of the life support pod.
"Have you really thought this through? To maintain this absolute stillness field, there needs to be a constant supply of light. If you choose to stay and serve as an energy source, your fighting bodies will remain, which may even affect your consciousness. In the future, you may gradually merge with the universe over time, and... you may even lose yourselves forever."
Yu Lian felt a pang of pity: "As beings of light, you could have transformed into light and returned to the Orion Nebula, which is your true home."
"Homeland?" Dalam chuckled, stepped forward, and gently tapped the crystal surface of the life support pod with his fingers, looking at the sleeping Kaul inside.
(My personal theory is that the light from Orion came to Earth and merged with the ancient humans to become the Giants of Light, just like Dyna. Therefore, they also have memories belonging to Orion.)
"What's so fun about Orion? It's not as good as Earth. Besides, I promised him I'd let him see the statue erected for me. I, Darram, always keep my word. If he doesn't wake up, I'll wait for him here."
Hitler tossed his hair, crossed his arms behind his head, and said nonchalantly, "Tch, the universe is full of boring guys. I've already spent my fastest time on this planet. I have no rivals anywhere else. Besides, if we all leave, when this guy wakes up and finds no one to fawn over him, won't he be mortified?"
Daga bent down and rubbed Gadi's fluffy head.
"I've said it before, I hate trouble, and I hate moving even more. I finally found the knack for growing flowers on Earth and want to experience a peaceful life, so why should I leave my hometown?" Daga raised his head.
"Besides, this guy entrusted his idiot Golza to me. If I leave, who will keep an eye on that moron? Furthermore, he hasn't even finished tidying up my backyard yet. I saved this kid's life. Without my permission, he's not going to die so easily."
Gedi understood its master's words, barked once, and obediently lay down next to the life support pod, its tail gently stroking the ground: I will stay here forever.
Camilla did not speak.
She simply walked up to the life support pod and looked at Caul's calm face through the transparent crystal.
If it weren't for this alien of unknown origin, she might have already turned against Tiga, or she might have led everyone into darkness in her obsession, falling into slavery of darkness in jealousy and despair.
It was Kaul's seemingly absurd love secrets, his matchmaking behind the scenes, that pulled her back from the brink of despair and brought Ultraman Tiga back to life.
Camilla turned her head and looked at Tiga beside her. Their eyes met, and without saying a word, they understood each other's feelings.
Tiga reached out and gently took Camilla's hand.
"Captain Yuzare, let's begin," Tiga's voice was very gentle. "We were born because of this planet, and we found the true meaning of light because of the people and bonds on this planet. Mr. Kaul gave everything to protect our world, and now it's our turn to protect his time."
Tiga looked at the life support pod and smiled at everyone: "Whether it's a thousand years, ten thousand years, or even longer, our bodies from the battle will turn into stone statues, becoming guardians of him, until this planet needs light again, until... the day he opens his eyes again, and until people need us."
Yu Lian looked at these giants who had almost succumbed to darkness, her eyes slightly reddening. She nodded and raised the scepter in her hand.
As Yu Lian cast her spell, the ancient array around the altar lit up with dazzling white runes.
Tiga and the others exchanged a smile.
They released each other's hands, and their bodies began to radiate light.
Amidst the light, their bodies began to grow gigantic, transforming back into the fifty-four-meter-tall giants of light.
Camilla stood to Tiga's left, the two giants back to back, displaying an attitude of absolute trust and protection. Darram and Hitler stood on either side, as if guarding the outermost perimeter. Tiga stood proudly in front of the altar with his arms crossed. The golden-haired Gedi transformed into a huge stone lion-like beast, quietly lying at his feet.
The source of light within the giants materialized into golden streams of light, continuously flowing into the central life support chamber.
As the light faded, grayish-white petrified marks began to spread upwards from their ankles.
There was no fear, no hesitation.
As the petrification spread to Tiga's chest, he took one last look at Kaul in the life support pod and silently left a message in his heart.
Sweet dreams, my friend. Goodbye, future world.
As the last glimmer of light faded, the valley fell completely silent, and the five people, now in human form, left the place.
Five magnificent stone statues of giants of light and one stone statue of a monster stood silently on the earth, and in the very center of them was a pyramid-shaped energy shield that emitted golden light, perfectly enveloping Kaul's life support pod.
Looking at the Pyramid of Light before her, Youlian sealed a message from an ancient civilization about the future into a capsule-shaped time-space device.
"When Earth faces another great upheaval, the light will awaken once more..."
She launched the time capsule into orbit outside the atmosphere, and then, along with the remaining ancient humans, gradually disappeared into the long river of history. Of course, the giants also eventually returned to their homeland due to various reasons, leaving behind only their battle-worn bodies.
The ancient civilization ultimately met its demise; even with giants among them, they could not withstand the passage of time.
