Chapter 135 Yukimura is discharged from the hospital, Part 1 and Part 2
Ryo Mochizuki traced her fingertips across the chibi version of herself on the screen, wiggling her bottom and wagging her tail, imagining Atobe jumping up and down in anger.
I couldn't help but laugh out loud.
"Mon dieu, so cute." He muttered to himself as he looked through the emojis he had made, becoming more and more satisfied with them.
After enjoying the final slideshow, I backed it up to my phone's cloud drive and even created a separate encrypted folder for it.
It is named "Hyotei's Cute Illustrated Guide".
"Young master, we've arrived at the flower shop," the driver's voice came from the front seat.
Wang Yueling put her phone in her pocket, opened the car door, and got out. It was the same little shop where she bought flowers the first time she met Yukimura. The wind chimes hanging on the glass door tinkled, and the room was filled with a sweet floral fragrance as she opened the door.
"Welcome." The shop owner was pruning the flowers at the entrance. When he looked up and saw him, his eyes lit up. "It's you, young man. Long time no see."
"Yes, I'd like to buy a bouquet of flowers."
Wang Yueling walked to the flower bucket, her fingertips gently brushing against the petals of the white daisies. "Just like last time, white daisies with light purple calamus."
"I know, this is the first thing you bought when you came here. I remember."
The shop owner turned to get flowers from the refrigerated display case in the storage room, saying as he went, "You only buy these two kinds of flowers every time you come. This is the first time I've seen someone so obsessed with calamus. Most people don't buy this because it has a short blooming period and is difficult to arrange."
Wang Yueling stood by the service counter, her fingers gently tapping the surface.
"Some people like it."
The shop owner came out carrying a flower bucket, smiling at him: "That patient from last time, you're discharged today, right? You look so happy."
"Yes, I've been discharged from the hospital."
Wang Yueling's lips curled up, and a gentle light filled her eyes. "Finally, I can go home."
"That's great!" The shop owner took out the flowers and placed them on the counter. "Wrap them yourself, or should I wrap them for you?"
"I'll do it myself."
Wang Yueling walked to the workbench and picked up the scissors.
He picked out a few of the best-blooming pale purple calamus and a bunch of pure white daisies, then returned to the workbench and began to wrap the flowers himself.
His movements were skillful and elegant; his long, nimble fingers deftly trimmed the flower stems, arranged the bouquet, and wrapped it with wrapping paper—all in one fluid motion. The pale blue wrapping paper set off the purple calamus and white daisies, creating a fresh and refined look.
He wrapped it very carefully, adjusting the position of each flower several times.
Watching his skillful and fluid flower-wrapping techniques, the shop owner couldn't help but exclaim again, "Your skills are still so good. After you left last time, many customers saw it and asked if they could wrap flowers like yours. I told them my skills weren't that advanced."
"Thank you." Wang Yueling tied a matching ribbon at the end, then held the bouquet and smelled it. The faint floral fragrance lingered at the tip of her nose, exactly the same scent as when they first met.
Although the gift box prepared by my maternal grandmother had a green lisianthus attached to it, it was a token of her affection.
This bouquet is his blessing for Seishi.
His father told him from a young age that when he met someone he liked, he should bring the flower that the other person liked.
So he always brought it with him.
He paid, carried the bouquet, and walked out of the flower shop. Sunlight shone on his blond hair, giving it a warm golden edge.
"Young Master, shall we go to the hospital now?"
"Okay. Drive faster." Wang Yueling got into the car and carefully placed the bouquet on her lap, afraid of damaging the petals.
The car drove smoothly on the road, and the scenery outside the window rushed past.
Looking at the bouquet on her lap, Wang Yueling gently stroked the daisy petals with her fingers, feeling a mix of nervousness and anticipation.
The day has finally come.
Seiichi is finally able to be discharged from the hospital.
The car drove smoothly toward Jinjing General Hospital. It stopped at the entrance of the inpatient department. Wang Yueling got out of the car, carrying flowers, and subconsciously looked up at that familiar window.
The sunlight was perfect, and the glass reflected the light, making it flicker. Then he saw the figure standing by the window.
His bluish-purple hair swayed slightly in the wind, and his white shirt made his skin appear even whiter. Yukimura seemed to sense something, looked up, and met Mochizuki Ryo's gaze from downstairs.
Eyes facing each other.
Time seemed to stand still.
Wang Yueling's heart skipped a beat, then raced wildly. He instinctively raised the bouquet in his arms high and waved it vigorously. Sunlight fell on his face, his azure eyes curving into crescents, revealing his small right canine tooth, and he smiled radiantly.
Yukimura, standing by the window, looked down at the boy below, who was holding flowers and grinning foolishly, and a gentle smile spread across his eyes. His hands, hanging at his sides, unconsciously tightened, his palm clutching the small chibi-style Mochizuki Ryou doll.
The doll had soft blonde hair and bright blue eyes, just like the person downstairs.
"What a silly laugh," he muttered softly, his voice barely audible to himself.
Actually, he had been standing by the window waiting ever since he sent that message. He didn't know what he was waiting for, he just felt he should stand there.
He knew Wang Yueling would come, and he guessed that he would bring flowers. He just didn't expect it to be the exact same bouquet as when they first met.
Two months ago, on a similarly sunny day, this blond boy, holding the same flowers, pushed open the rooftop door.
From that day on, his gray hospital life suddenly became colorful.
Yukimura looked down at the cotton doll in his hand, put it into the backpack by the bedside, and zipped it up.
He took one last look at the ward.
The pot of pink daisies on the windowsill was brought home by Mom last night. The bedside table is spotless; the art supplies and sketchbooks have been packed away. The rehabilitation training plans that were pasted at the foot of the bed have all been torn off, leaving only a few remnants of tape.
I lived here for eight months.
Now it's finally time to leave.
He took a deep breath, picked up his backpack, and walked out of the ward.
The corridor was long, and sunlight streamed in through the window at the end, bathing the white walls in a warm yellow hue. A nurse at the station saw him, smiled, and said, "Congratulations on your discharge." He nodded and thanked her.
Wang Yueling waited at the door with flowers in her arms.
He watched as Yukimura's figure emerged from behind the glass door, and unconsciously stepped forward to meet him.
Yukimura wore a beige shirt, revealing a glimpse of his fair collarbone at the collar. His bluish-purple hair was blown by the wind and clung to his forehead, making him look slender and gentle.
"Seiichi! Congratulations on your discharge from the hospital. The Son of God has officially returned to his rightful place!" Mochizuki Ryou handed him the flowers, her bright blue eyes sparkling as if they held the entire starry sky.
Yukimura glanced at him, took the bouquet, and gently brushed the petals of the iris with his fingers. The pale purple petals were soft and delicate, exactly as he remembered them.
"You gave me this the first time we met." He lowered his head to smell the fragrance of the flowers, his voice gentle.
"That doesn't count." Mochizuki Ryou shook her head and tilted it slightly. "That time you were still in the hospital, so it was just a visitor's visit. This time is the real visitor to meet your idol."
"What kind of logic is this?" Yukimura asked, holding the flowers with a smile in his eyes.
"My logic," Mochizuki Ryou raised his chin, looking completely matter-of-fact, "is the best logic in the world, it needs no explanation."
Yukimura didn't say anything more, holding the flowers, he looked up at the sky. The sun was shining brightly, the sky was a clear blue, without a single cloud.
"The weather is nice today."
"Yes, it's perfect for being discharged from the hospital." Wang Yueling stood next to him, following his gaze to look up at the sky.
The two stood side by side at the entrance of the inpatient department, half a step apart. The wind passed between them, carrying the fragrance of flowers.
Yukimura glanced at Mochizuki Ryo.
You seem a little different than usual today.
Wang Yueling's ears felt a little hot again. She subconsciously raised her hand to touch her hair and then looked down at her clothes.
A black and white striped tracksuit, zipped up to the chest, with the neckline slightly open.
"What's different?"
I can't quite explain it.
Yukimura tilted his head and looked him up and down again. "It just feels a little different."
Wang Yueling sighed inwardly, recalling her grandmother's words before she left.
Have I really changed a lot today?
"Ahem!" He cleared his throat, straightened the collar of his tracksuit, leaned closer to Yukimura, and put on a serious expression: "Of course it's different. Today is my official first day on the job."
"Start working?"
"Yeah, right." Wang Yueling patted his muscular arms, his tone a little smug. "Your personal tennis rehabilitation trainer is certified. From now on, all your rehabilitation will be under my care."
Seeing his expression, Yukimura's smile deepened, and he deliberately remarked, "You're really planning to be my coach?"
As soon as he finished speaking, he saw the once smug boy suddenly slump his shoulders.
The dog's ears drooped down immediately... well... if he had dog ears.
The smugness on his face vanished instantly, his bright blue eyes widened, his lips parted slightly, and he looked like a large dog that had lost its bones.
"You promised me!" His voice rose slightly, tinged with grievance. "You said you'd let me get my license and start working as soon as I was discharged from the hospital. Are you trying to go back on your word now?"
He took a half step forward, looked down slightly at Yukimura, the light in his eyes dimmed a bit, and even his blond hair, which he had specially styled before leaving home that morning, didn't seem as bright.
"Seiichi..."
The word "Seiichi" was drawn out, with the final syllable falling, carrying a pitiful feeling of being let down and abandoned.
Looking into his moist, azure eyes, Yukimura's heart melted. He suppressed a laugh, cleared his throat, and extended his hand in a gesture of shaking hands.
"Then please take care of me from now on, Instructor Mochizuki."
Mochizuki Ryo's eyes lit up instantly. He grabbed Yukimura's hand, squeezed it tightly, and grinned from ear to ear.
"Leave it to me! I guarantee you'll be back to your peak within a month!" He smirked and patted his chest as he made his promise.
After saying that, he winked at Yukimura, then turned and walked to the car, opening the back door with an elegant gesture, as if inviting a dance partner.
"Please get in the car, Mr. Yukimura. I'll take you home."
Yukimura got into the car with a smile on his face and placed the bouquet on his lap.
He immediately noticed the three gift boxes piled on the passenger seat. The top one was a light blue box with a daisy pattern, and a light green lisianthus was pinned to the bottom of the cloth knot. Below that was a whimsical gift box with a bear and rabbit print, and the bottom one was the largest, wrapped in light green floral fabric.
Wang Yueling closed the car door, walked around to the other side, and sat in the back seat. Following his gaze, she smiled and reached out to take the box with the bellflower.
"This light blue one is a special treat that Grandma made especially for you; it's all the reduced-sugar version. The cartoon one is for Meiya, and the big one at the bottom is for your uncle and aunt."
Yukimura took the box and gently touched the fresh bellflower with his fingertips. Water droplets still clung to the petals, making it look fresh and beautiful.
"Grandma is too kind. I keep receiving gifts from her, and I don't know how to thank her enough."
"It's alright. Grandma said that liking her desserts and giving positive feedback is enough to show your gratitude."
Mochizuki Ryo leaned closer to Yukimura, lowered her voice, and said mysteriously, "When she left today, she said she'd let you come over to play sometime, and she'd make you lots of delicious food."
Yukimura stroked the ribbon on the gift box and nodded seriously. "I see. Well then... I'll make an appointment with you during the Kanto Tournament to give her a proper visit."
"Really?!"
Wang Yueling was pleasantly surprised and subconsciously raised her voice a little, but then realized it was a bit abrupt and quickly adjusted her volume, afraid that Yukimura would notice something, so she changed the subject.
He gestured with his chin toward the box.
"You can open it now. There's a box of chilled Hachiro apricots inside; they're perfect to eat now, refreshing and not greasy."
He paused, lowered his voice, and spoke with a hint of cunning.
"Hurry up and eat a few more bites. Otherwise, when you get home, those little wolves from Rikkai will be waiting. Their eyes will light up when they see good food, and you won't get a single bite."
Yukimura glanced at him, and the corners of his mouth curved into a smile.
He carefully removed the lisianthus from the knot and tucked it into the side of the bouquet. The light green lisianthus paired with the white daisies and pale purple calamus created an unexpectedly harmonious and beautiful scene.
Upon opening the gift box, one finds neatly arranged mung bean cakes, mung bean pastries, rice cakes, dried plums, and a small, exquisite insulated box.
Opening the insulated box, you'll find neatly arranged golden apricots, pitted, cut in half, and soaking in light amber juice, emitting a rich fruity aroma.
The apricot flesh was plump, and the skin still had a slight crispness, so it looked like it had just been made.
Yukimura picked up the small fork next to the insulated box, forked a piece, and put it in his mouth. The sweet and sour juice melted on his tongue, carrying the fragrance of green apricot syrup, and the cool touch slid down his throat, dispelling the summer heat.
"Is it good?" Wang Yueling leaned back in her seat, tilting her head to watch him eat.
"Mmm, it's delicious." Yukimura nodded and forked another piece.
Sunlight streamed in through the car window, falling on his profile. Long eyelashes cast soft shadows beneath his eyelids, and his cheeks puffed out slightly from eating, making him look like a little white cat enjoying its meal.
Wang Yueling looked at him, her heart softening.
This person is really good-looking.
Whether she's painting on the rooftop while wearing a hospital gown, or eating apricots in a car while wearing a white shirt, she looks good.
Yukimura sensed his gaze, but without looking up, he swallowed the apricot in his mouth before slowly turning his head away.
"What are you looking at?"
"It's up to you."
"Why are you looking at me?"
"nice."
Yukimura's ears turned slightly red. After finishing the last apricot, he closed the insulated container and put it back into the gift box. He hugged the flowers to his chest again and slowly closed his eyes.
A soft curve appeared at the corner of her lips.
Mochizuki Ryo softened her breathing, took a thin blanket from the side, and gently draped it over Yukimura. The blanket wasn't thick, but it was warm in the air-conditioned car.
Yukimura's eyelashes fluttered, and his voice, soft and sleepy, said, "Wake me when we get there."
"Mmm," Wang Yueling responded softly.
The car drove smoothly down the street, the lazy chirping of cicadas drifting in through the windows. Mochizuki Ryo leaned back in her seat, watching Yukimura's peaceful sleeping face, a slight smile playing on her lips.
-
After driving for more than an hour, we turned into a quiet, upscale residential area.
Ginkgo trees lined both sides of the street, their leaves still green and rustling in the wind. The air smelled of earth and faintly fragrant with flowers, with the occasional chirping of birds.
Yukimura's house is in the middle of the street.
It is a three-story Japanese-style building with white walls covered in lush green vines.
The car drove around the back of the house and could see a large yard filled with all sorts of flowers and plants. The roses were in full bloom, pink and red, crowding together. A white swing was perched among the flowers, and in one corner of the yard was a standard tennis court.
The court is not large, but it is very well-organized. The fencing is newly replaced, and the ground is clean.
Looking at the basketball court, Mochizuki Ryo's eyes lit up. Just as he was about to wake Yukimura, he saw that he had already opened his eyes.
"Your dad built it?!"
Yukimura opened his eyes, straightened up, took off the thin blanket from his body, folded it, and placed it on his seat.
"Yes. It was built when I was a child." He looked at the tennis court and said softly, "I had just started learning tennis back then and had nowhere to practice. So my dad had someone convert the backyard."
The car stopped at the entrance.
Before the two of them even got out of the car, they saw a group of people standing at the door.
All the regular players from Rikkai University's tennis team were there.
Sanada stood at the front, his hat pulled low, arms crossed, back ramrod straight. Yanagi stood beside him, notebook in hand, eyes half-closed. Niou leaned against a doorpost, his silver braid hanging down his back, a strand of hair twirling between his fingers.
Yagyu stood beside Niou, wearing round-rimmed glasses and a light blue shirt, looking refined and well-mannered. Marui chewed gum, his purple eyes fixed on the car, while Kuwabara stood beside him, his bald head gleaming in the sunlight.
Kirihara stood at the very front, his black curly hair swirling around him, tiptoeing as he peered in their direction. Seeing the car stop, he jumped up and waved into it.
Yukimura's parents stood at the door.
Masaya Yukimura, wearing a white shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his forearms, wore a gentle smile. Yuko Yukimura, dressed in a beautiful dress, carefully protected her daughter beside her.
Yukimura Mia stood at the front, her hair in two pigtails, wearing a light yellow T-shirt and denim overalls, her white leather shoes gleaming. She tilted her head back, her eyes sparkling, holding up a small sign that read, "Welcome home, brother."
Wang Yueling pushed open the car door and got out first.
When Mei Ya saw him, her eyes lit up, but she didn't run over. She just stood there and waved vigorously.
"Boss!"
Mochizuki Ryouchi waved to her, then turned and ran to the other side to open the door for Yukimura.
Yukimura got off the car carrying the flowers.
The group of people at the door suddenly surged forward.
Kirihara was the first to rush over, almost tripping on the steps, but Kuwabara reached out and steadied him. After he regained his balance, he looked up at Yukimura, his eyes a little red.
"Minister! You're finally back!"
Marui followed behind him, blowing a bubble from his chewing gum, which popped with a "pop." "Captain, I've been waiting for you for ages."
Niou walked over from the doorpost, his little braid swaying behind his shoulder, a smile on his lips. "Puri~ From today onwards, we don't have to go to the hospital to see you anymore."
Yagyu adjusted his glasses and bowed slightly. "Yukimura, welcome back."
Liu opened her notebook, her pen tip tapping on the paper. "Arrival time is half an hour earlier than scheduled. The error is within the acceptable range."
Sanada walked up to Yukimura, his dark eyes beneath the brim of his hat deep and unfathomable. He didn't speak, but simply reached out and patted Yukimura on the shoulder.
The force was neither too light nor too heavy, and it lingered for two seconds.
Yukimura looked at him and smiled. "Genichiro, you've had a tough time these past few days."
Sanada shook his head.
"Of course."
Yukimura's parents and the other boys finished their conversation and came over. Yukimura Masaya put his arm around his son's shoulder and gave him a tight hug.
"It's good that you're back healthy."
"Seiichi!" Yukimura Yuko walked over quickly, took his hand and looked him up and down. "Are you tired? Come inside, it's hot outside, don't get heatstroke."
"I'm fine, Mom." Yukimura smiled and handed her the bouquet of flowers. "This was given to me by Ryou."
"Hello, Auntie. Hello, Uncle."
Wang Yueling stood behind them, holding the gift box, and smiled as she watched them. When she heard Yukimura mention her, she quickly stepped forward, bowed slightly, and handed over the gift box. "This is a small token of my appreciation from my grandmother to congratulate Seiichi on his discharge from the hospital."
Yukimura Yuko smiled as she accepted the gift box. "Your grandmother is too kind. She always makes you bring so many things."
Yukimura Masaya smiled and patted him on the shoulder, "Xiao Ling, it's hot outside, come in and sit down."
"Uncle, you're too kind," Wang Yueling said with a smile.
"Brother!" Miya squeezed in front of Yukimura, immediately rushed over, hugged his leg, and held the small sign high. "You're finally back! I missed you so much! Brother, look... I made this!"
Yukimura glanced down, squatted down, and took the sign.
"Thank you, Meiya." He gently ruffled his sister's hair, his voice tender. "You did a great job."
Miya hugged her brother for a while, then turned around and saw Mochizuki Ryo standing next to her. Her eyes lit up, she let go of Yukimura's legs, and ran to Mochizuki Ryo's side, reaching out to hug his legs.
"First!" She looked up, her face beaming. "You're finally here! I've been waiting for you for so long!"
"Second!" Mochizuki Ryo smiled and ruffled her hair. "Did you miss me?"
"I've thought about it!" Mei Ya nodded vigorously. "I even told my mom yesterday that when the number one player comes along, I want him to teach me how to play tennis!"
Everyone around was stunned.
Kirihara scratched his head, looking at Marui with a puzzled expression: "First? Second? What do you mean?"
Marui also shook his head and looked at Niou.
Niou crossed his arms, raised an eyebrow, and looked at Yukimura: "Puri~ Captain, what's this new title? How come we don't know it?"
Yukimura smiled but didn't say anything.
Meiya, hands on her hips, looked at everyone with pride: "Because our boss is the best tennis player in the world! I'll be the second best in tennis in the future! So I call him number one, and he calls me number two!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Niou couldn't help but burst out laughing.
Marui clutched his stomach, doubled over with laughter, while Kirihara stared, mouth agape in shock. Yagyu adjusted his glasses, a slight smile playing on his lips. He opened his notebook, pen gliding rapidly across the paper. Even Sanada's lips, hidden beneath his hat brim, twitched almost imperceptibly.
"What are you laughing at!" Meiya frowned and glared at them. "Once I learn to play tennis, I'll definitely beat you! I'll become the second best in the world!"
"Yes, yes, yes, our second place is the best!" Wang Yueling suppressed a laugh, took the cartoon gift box out of the car, cleared her throat, and put on a serious expression. "Now, let's hold the award ceremony for the second best in the world!"
He held the gift box with both hands and solemnly handed it to Mei Ya: "In recognition of Tianxia Di Er's recent outstanding performance, I am awarding him a limited edition windmill and a box of strawberry daifuku! I hope Tianxia Di Er will continue his efforts and achieve his goal soon!"
"Thank you, First!" Meiya followed his example, solemnly accepting the gift box, holding it in her arms, her eyes narrowing into slits with a smile.
The crowd laughed even harder as they watched the two people seriously putting on a skit.
