Akimund impatiently lifted his foot and stomped on a jungle guardian, the sound of bones cracking clearly audible.
Cenarius quickly stepped forward and stretched out countless vines to pull his three children back. Archimonde's strength was beyond what ordinary people could contend with.
Just then, some dryads that had been hiding nearby jumped out. These deer-like creatures threw poison darts at Archimonde, but were stopped by the demigod Cenarius.
“My children, you have done well. Now step back and leave the rest of the battle to your father.” The demigod Cenarius nodded to his offspring.
These dryads and jungle guardians have no chance against Archimonde. The only ones who can withstand Archimonde are himself and the archdruid Malfurion.
Just then, a blazing holy light shone upon Archimonde, causing the corrupted one to feel discomfort, while the powerful frost force also brought Archimonde to a halt.
It was Uther and Jaina who made the move, unleashing Divine Storm and Blizzard immediately.
"The lackeys of the Holy Light Legion, and the Frost Mage... do you think that can stop me?"
"How utterly ridiculous! No one can defeat the Great Corruptor. This world belongs to the Legion."
Archimonde raised his hand, and a wide-ranging fel firestorm exploded around Uther.
Uther immediately raised his warhammer, and his Silver Hand released a barrier of holy light. The pale golden light membrane blocked the firestorm from his body, but the corruption of fel energy caused the holy light to be consumed rapidly—the light on the barrier grew dimmer and dimmer, cold sweat beaded on Uther's forehead, and his arms trembled slightly from the continuous exertion.
Upon seeing this, Jaina immediately began chanting a spell. A massive wall of ice appeared behind Uther, while countless ice spikes rained down from the sky, crashing into the demon within the firestorm.
"Lord Uther, hold on!" The collision of frost and fel energy created a large amount of white mist, temporarily suppressing the spread of the firestorm.
Caponia, meanwhile, moved to Archimonde's side, gathering a terrifying fireball in the elf's hand before blasting it into Archimonde's face.
At the same time, a bolt of lightning, less severe than divine punishment, struck down, causing Archimonde's body to tremble violently.
It was the Guardian Medivh who made the move. Although he could only use one type of magic, it was enough for a Guardian.
The relentless lightning strikes caused Archimonde immense pain; each of Guardian Medivh's lightning bolts was enough to wipe out a level 7 unit.
"Aaaaah! You damned bastard!" The once invincible Archimonde was actually injured, and the Burning Legion's defiler suffered its first setback.
“Demon, today is your death day,” Medivh said.
"The Burning Legion is doomed to fail, and you are destined to return empty-handed," said Archdruid Malfurion.
"You ants, you are no match for the Legion. I'll show you my true power!" Archimonde roared in fury, his body erupting with fel flames.
It created a massive fel storm that blasted everyone away; the corruptor's power still overwhelmed them.
However, the demons on the defensive line also encountered fierce resistance. The battle lasted from late at night until dawn, when the sky began to lighten.
The night elves' defenses are riddled with cracks: most of the Ancient of War has fallen, and fel flames still burn on its broken branches.
The number of treants has dwindled dramatically, and broken wood chips and emerald sap are scattered on the ground; the elven sentinels have suffered heavy casualties.
Tyrande's moon power was waning due to continuous depletion; her cheeks were pale, her breathing rapid, and she was still drawing her bow. Archimonde, however, remained standing in the center of the defensive line, with the corpses of demons and elves piled at his feet, and the fel flames around him burning even brighter.
He raised his hand, and dark energy gathered in his palm—a "Fel Annihilation Wave" powerful enough to destroy the entire defense line. The surrounding air was forcibly sucked in, forming a huge energy vortex, and even the distant clouds were dyed black.
"The game is over, mortals..." Archimonde's voice carried a destructive schadenfreude, "Mount Hyjal will become your grave!"
Just as the fel annihilation wave was about to erupt, a familiar magical fluctuation suddenly came from afar—a yellowish-brown "protective stone skin" enveloped the exhausted treant.
A cyan "Attack Acceleration" spell wrapped around the elven sentinel's arrows, while a golden "Holy Spirit's Blessing" light fell upon everyone. The life force of healing magic acted on the demigod, and his charred wounds healed at a visible speed.
Tyrande looked up abruptly, her eyes flashing with surprise: "It's Rhodes! He's awake!"
Caponia and Jaina were also pleasantly surprised, unaware that Rhodes had become the backbone of the group.
Malfurion stopped and looked in the direction of the magical fluctuations—a familiar figure was walking quickly towards him, surrounded by azure magical energy. Although there was still a trace of fatigue on his face, his eyes were as sharp as an eagle's.
In Rhode's hand, a very special magical arrow materialized, wreathed in golden energy of holy light. Rhode tentatively infused it with the principles of the Azeroth world, imbuing it with his hero's magic.
Magic Arrow is the spell Rhodes uses most often. He has been using this spell since the first day he came here, and it only requires four points of mana.
With the enhancement of advanced magic and ten points of strength, this move is the most powerful besides Thunderbolt. Rhode has become more and more adept at using this spell after using it many times.
During his rest, Rhode pondered whether he should improve the hero's magic, and the first one that was willing to be improved was the Magic Arrow. When condensing the Magic Arrow, Rhode tentatively added the power of holy light. Although he now also knew shadow magic and fel magic, he didn't use these two spells much.
Holy Light is my most frequently used spell and the one with the most spell types. The powerful infusion of Holy Light makes the Magic Arrows burst with an even more dazzling light, and the damage bonus to demons and undead creatures will reach a terrifying level.
"Polluter, your game of destruction is coming to an end."
Rhodes' voice, carried through the magic, echoed across the battlefield, tinged with a chilling killing intent.
The fel energy in Archimonde's palm suddenly froze. He turned to look at Rhodes, a look of surprise flashing in his eyes, which then turned into fury: "You ant! How dare you appear before me! I'll kill you!"
Without a word, Rhodes raised his hand and fired a golden magic arrow. The energy arrow, shimmering with holy golden light, cut through the dawn's glimmer, moving so fast that it left afterimages.
The golden magic arrow pierced through Archimonde's hastily summoned shadow shield and struck his chest—azure magical energy erupted within him, while golden holy light frantically purified the fel energy. Archimonde let out a roar that shook the heavens and the earth, and the dark flames dimmed slightly in an instant.
Although it struck the Corruptor, Rhodes' golden holy light magic arrow did not inflict fatal damage.
"Lord Rhodes! We orcs don't like to rest. We will fight this battle to the very end." Thrall's voice came from the side. He led nearly a thousand rested elite troops of the tribe. Orc warriors wielded anti-magic battle axes, tauren heavy infantry held totem poles, and troll headhunters' spears were drawn and ready to be fired.
The battle cry of "Lok'tar ogar!" echoed through the jungle, crashing into the Burning Legion's flank like a thunderclap.
Cenarius's eyes lit up again. He summoned countless vines once more to entangle Archimonde's legs, and at the same time, he shouted to the night elves around him: "Comrades! My offspring, champions of Azeroth! New comrades, together we will drive the defilers from our homeland!"
As the morning light completely dispelled the darkness, the banners of the Alliance, Horde, and Night Elf coalition once again fluttered atop Mount Hyjal.
Rhodes stood at the forefront of the line, constantly gathering magical energy in his hands. The Titan giant beside him also stood up again, its Thunder Sword flashing with dazzling light.
Beside him, two archangels of holy light, radiating golden light, also appeared. These archangels were combat units that Rhode had kept hidden, intending to use them at the last moment for a desperate fight against Archimonde.
A crazy idea popped into Rhodes' mind: he wanted to break the destiny. In Archimonde's original timeline, he defeated the entire coalition and then ascended the World Tree.
In the end, the World Tree and countless ancient heroes perished together with Archimonde, but now Rhodes is saying no!
In version 6.0, Grommash Hellscream, Khadgar, and Yrel could defeat Archimonde, and so can they; destiny is meant to be broken.
Chapter 152 Battle of Mount Hyjal, Defiler's Team Wipe Technique, Hand of Death
Archimonde clutched the wound in his chest, his eyes filled with madness and murderous intent—he knew that this final battle, which would determine the fate of Azeroth, would be even more difficult than he had imagined.
"All troops, listen to my command! This battle has only just begun!" Malfurion, the commander of the allied forces, roared.
Archimonde grinned as he wiped away the wound on his chest. His chest was only slightly charred; the injury wasn't very serious.
The terrifying fel energy reformed: "You think this little trick can change anything? I will show you true power! The true power that Lord Sargeras bestowed upon me."
The Corruptor raised his hands high, and the sky darkened instantly. Countless green meteors began to fall from the sky—hellfire rain—the Burning Legion's signature destructive spell.
This is a true rain of chaos, affecting almost the entire Mount Hyjal. Terrifying fel meteors are falling from the sky, bringing not only devastating damage but also transforming into incredibly terrifying super hellfire after landing.
For the first time, the Corruptor unleashed its true power, drawing upon the fel energy bestowed upon it by Sargeras.
"Malfurion, we must stop these meteors!" Rhodes shouted.
The Archdruid immediately led the druids to cast the Tranquility spell, and a barrier of emerald energy formed, slowing the meteor's descent.
Meanwhile, Jaina and Caponeya joined forces to cast a large ice barrier in an attempt to freeze the burning boulders, but this was still a drop in the ocean.
"Titan, block the biggest ones!" Rhodes commanded.
The Titan strode forward with heavy steps, swinging its thunderous sword and shattering several exceptionally large meteorites.
Rhode did not summon the Diamond, Gold, and Iron Legion units because these units are immune to most magic, but not to physical attacks. If a meteorite were to fall, his Gold and Iron Legion units would be destroyed.
The meteorite crashed into the allied forces, causing numerous casualties. The terrifying explosion blasted some low-ranking soldiers to pieces, and the fel energy instantly destroyed their flesh and tore their bodies apart.
After the meteor explosion ended, countless enormous stone giants, each over 5 meters tall and engulfed in fel fire, appeared. These were the Burning Legion's cannon fodder unit, the Hellfire.
Although they are cannon fodder units of the Burning Legion, the infernal fire summoned by Commander Archimonde using fel magic is terrifyingly powerful.
"Roar!" Hellfire let out a strange cry.
"Don't panic! Druids and Keepers of the Jungle, summon Clay Giants to fight immediately!" Malfurion roared.
All the forest guardians and druids nodded in unison, then cast a spell, and the soil and some trees and vines on the ground mixed together, turning into a unique kind of clay stone giant.
This was the special spell that Cenarius had taught Rhodes, but he had to reach level 4 to learn it; he couldn't learn the basics of Wisdom yet.
The clay giants summoned by the druids varied in size, but these large ones were able to successfully withstand the hellfire. Rhodes also summoned some holy light elements and unleashed powerful holy light to attack the hellfire.
The hellfire summoned by Archimonde is almost immune to all magical attacks except for Holy Light spells, and its body is engulfed in fel fire, which can also burn attackers around it.
Melee attacks will be burned by fel fire, and ranged magic is useless against them; these guys are quite troublesome.
Rhodes frowned. He knew he had to deal with Archimonde as soon as possible. He turned to the two Archangels of Light beside him and said, "Prepare for Holy Impact. Target Archimonde—restrict his movement."
The angels nodded, and golden holy light began to gather in their hands. Among them, the angel wielding the Emperor's weapon, the Divine Judgment, gathered an even more intense power of holy light.
He transformed into a golden meteor and rushed towards Archimonde, while the other was left by Rhodes. The Holy Angel has two resurrections; if his angel is killed, Rhodes can immediately resurrect and switch to another angel.
The appearance of the Archangel of Light also made Archimonde frown. This creature, whose entire body was burning with holy flames and possessed terrifying holy light power, was very unfriendly to demons who used fel energy.
Archimonde was thoroughly annoyed by the Archangel of Light.
Meanwhile, Thrall led the Horde's elite forces to Archimonde's left flank. Orc warriors wielded their magic-slaying battleaxes, striking the defiler's legs; the wounds were shallow, but enough to distract him.
This kind of pedicure-like attack caused Archimonde considerable annoyance.
"Annoying bugs!" Archimonde kicked away several orc warriors, but more warriors charged forward one after another.
The most outstanding among them was Broxigar, the old orc who kept swinging his axe and hacking wildly at Archimonde's big feet.
Rhodes's Holy Light Angel had already flown in front of Archimonde, and the Holy Light Judgment in his hand slashed down, instantly tearing a huge gash in the corruptor's body.
In his rage, Archimonde grabbed the Archangel of Light in front of him with one hand. Immediately afterward, a terrifying bolt of lightning exploded on Archimonde's face, and the Titan's lightning attack arrived as well.
"Damn you, you bastards!"
Cenarius seized the opportunity and summoned a giant vine of nature to entangle Archimonde's right arm, while Malfurion summoned another vine to restrain Archimonde's left arm. Together, the master and apprentice controlled Archimonde. Tyrande, riding on her Nightsaber, drew her bow and arrows, continuously shooting at Archimonde's eyes.
Tyrande's archery skills were superb, in no way inferior to that of the Windrunner Ranger General of Quel'Thalas; she could hit almost anything she aimed at. Thrall, on the other hand, held his Doomhammer high.
The elemental forces of Azeroth were mobilized, and two enormous earthen hands appeared on the ground, grabbing Archimonde's legs. A thick bolt of lightning struck down, and the Guardian Medivh also continuously summoned lightning bolts.
Archimonde struggled to stand up, just as Uther charged forward wielding the Silver Hand Warhammer, which was over ten meters long. He leaped up and slammed the hammer down hard on the Corruptor's head.
This attack completely stunned the Corruptor; the Titan Guardian's weapon was indeed very powerful.
"Defiler, your death is imminent! Accept the judgment of the Holy Light!" Uther roared, his body surging with Holy Light energy like flames.
By this time, the Titan had run out of ammunition. Holding his lightning sword, he approached the Defiler and grabbed him tightly from behind, further restricting the Defiler's movements.
The Archangel of Holy Light charged forward, wielding his holy sword. The Archangel, holding the Judgment of Holy Light, plunged his weapon directly into Archimonde's body.
Archimonde roared in fury, for the commander of the Burning Legion could not fall here.
A black light flashed across the corruptor's palm, and terrifying fel energy erupted, unleashing a burst of shadow magic.
