Kurihana Kanao shook her head:
"Bukushima said he had absolutely no experience with kendo, and judging from his initial stance, that certainly seemed to be the case, but now..."
The two men stared intently at the figures clashing in the arena. Saeko Busujima's attacks grew increasingly rapid, her wooden sword whistling through the air with each swing. However, Zhou Ye handled the situation with ease; his defense was impenetrable, and he occasionally managed to find openings to launch counterattacks.
"enough!"
Taro Busujima clapped and called for a stop. He strode to the center of the field with a smile on his face.
"A wonderful competition."
Zhou Ye sheathed his sword and nodded to Taro Busujima. Beads of sweat rolled down his forehead, but his breathing remained steady.
"Saeko has been practicing swordsmanship since childhood and has won the national championship."
Taro Busujima patted his daughter on the shoulder.
"To be able to fight her for dozens of rounds without being at a disadvantage, Mr. Zhou must be exceptionally gifted!"
"you flatter me."
Zhou Ye put down the wooden sword, his confidence shining through his eyes. "I just learn quickly."
Nami, standing to the side, pursed her lips and muttered under her breath:
"The boss is putting on an act again..."
Shinobu Kocho stepped forward, ending the subtly awkward exchange of pleasantries:
"Mr. Busujima, may I use the meeting room in your backyard? We have important matters to discuss."
Taro Busujima sensed the urgency in Shinobu Kocho's tone and immediately nodded:
"Please come with me."
The five followed Taro Busujima through the courtyard to a secluded Japanese-style room. The room was simply furnished, with a modern projector in the center, a stark contrast to the traditional Japanese style.
"I'll take my leave now."
Before closing the door, Taro Busujima said
"Call me anytime if you need anything."
After the door closed, Shinobu Kocho immediately went to the projector and pressed the switch. A photograph was projected onto the wall—a man dressed in gorgeous clothes, with a warm smile, holding a golden iron fan in each hand.
"Child's mill".
Shinobu Kocho's voice turned cold.
"The leader of the Eternal Bliss Cult. One of the cults in Japan and America."
Zhou Ye crossed his arms and stared intently at the projection: "He's the one who killed your sister?"
Shinobu Kocho points to the iron fan in Doma's hand:
"His weapons were two golden iron fans, with pink and purple lotus flowers and green lotus leaves engraved on the fan surface, and the edges of the fans were as sharp as knives."
She pressed the remote control, and the screen changed—a corpse covered in ice crystals.
"He can turn his frozen blood into mist-like ice crystals and spread them out with a fan. Human skin will freeze upon contact, and if inhaled, it will make breathing difficult and eventually lead to alveolar necrosis."
Nami took a step back, instinctively covering her mouth and nose:
"Such a disgusting ability."
Zhou Ye squinted his eyes:
"How many Lower Moon demons are stronger than an Upper Moon demon?"
"More than ten."
Kurihana Kanao picked up the conversation.
"Butterfly and I have each dealt with the Lower Moon demons, but neither of us is confident of victory against the Upper Moon demons."
Zhou Ye stroked his chin, lost in thought. Saeko Busujima quietly observed his expression.
"The Upper Moon Demon Doma has already arrived in Raccoon City?"
Zhou Ye asked.
Shinobu Kocho nodded:
"On the very second day after he was exhausted, someone saw him in the city center. Raccoon City has a large number of homeless people who go missing every year, and we suspect that some of them are related to him."
Zhou Ye's eyes sharpened:
"Let's talk about the price. Can you provide fifty gems?"
Shinobu Kocho and Kanao Tsuyuri exchanged a glance.
"can."
Shinobu Kocho opened the small case she carried with her; inside were twenty gems of various colors, neatly arranged, sparkling under the projector's light.
"This is an advance payment; the rest will be paid upon completion of the task."
Nami's eyes lit up, and she involuntarily took a step forward, but was stopped by Zhou Ye.
"Let's get down to business first."
Zhou Ye pushed the box back in front of Shinobu Kocho.
"How much do you know about Doma's whereabouts?"
Shinobu Kocho pressed the remote control, and the projection screen switched to a map of Raccoon City:
"According to our intelligence, Doma runs a fortune-telling shop in the city center called Gokuraku Jodo. He lures young women under the guise of a fortune teller and then takes them away."
Zhou Ye sneered:
"The same old trick. Is there any other information? Like his relationship with Umbrella?"
Shinobu Kocho looked slightly surprised: "How did you know...?"
Zhou Ye shrugged and said:
"Even the dead Lei is involved with Albert Wesker; it would be a lie to say there are no other collaborations."
Kanao Tsukihana took out a document:
"According to the intelligence that came in this time, Muzan Kibutsuji's blood has been used by Umbrella to research and create zombies and biological weapons using the T-virus, and it has already shown initial results. These new synthetic monsters are no longer afraid of sunlight, or rather, under their heavy armor, they can now walk in sunlight."
Immediately afterwards, the projector played a secretly filmed scene showing some cannon fodder demons being implanted with the Umbrella T-virus. Under Muzan Kibutsuji's orders, demons dressed in full protective gear and those without were exposed to the rising sun. The weaker demons were instantly vaporized by the sunlight, while the slightly stronger ones endured the damage, suffering burns in some areas. This was not good news for either the Demon Slayer Corps or humanity.
Shinobu Kocho then spoke:
"Doma came to Raccoon City this time not only for his usual leisure activities, but also to inspect the results."
Zhou Ye stared intently at the image projected on the screen. The cannon fodder's performance under the sunlight was worrying—the weak were vaporized, while the strong suffered only minor burns. What did this mean? It meant trouble.
Zhou Ye nodded, a cold glint in his eyes. "A combination of virus and demon, ha, Umbrella and Muzan Kibutsuji's ambitions are truly grand."
Zhou Ye released his fingers and walked towards the projector:
"Tell me your plan. Are you going to just storm into Paradise? Or do you have some clever arrangement?" Shinobu Kocho pulled out a map and pointed to a building in the city center:
"The Paradise Divination Shop is located here, and Doma usually only appears in the evening. According to our previous intelligence, whenever he comes to Raccoon City for leisure, he will take a woman away every three days, and then we will not hear from him again."
"That means he eats one person every three days."
Zhou Ye's tone was cold. Even though Zhou Ye had been modified by Honkai energy and could be considered a half-Herrscher, he still considered himself human, not a beast in human skin. He would eliminate any such cannibalistic creature he saw on sight.
Shinobu Kocho nodded:
"Our plan is for me to pose as a customer, lure him out, and then you make your move at the right moment."
Zhou Ye scoffed, "You? Does he know you?"
"do not know."
Shinobu Kocho replied, "I have never faced him directly."
Do you and your sister look alike?
Shinobu Kocho paused for a moment, then said, "They are somewhat similar."
Zhou Ye shook his head and said:
"That's too risky. He might recognize you."
"So what are your suggestions?"
"I can't believe it," said Kurihana.
“Once the target is identified, just go for it. Why bother with honey traps with man-eating ghosts? It’s not like modern weapons are inadequate. The reason you don’t do it this way is because you’re worried about not having enough weapons and fearing America’s retaliation. Leave it to me.”
"How sure are you?"
Zhou Ye chuckled softly, his tone carrying an undeniable confidence:
"Perfect."
Chapter 54 The Whispers of Ghosts
Just then, Zhou Ye's phone rang. The ringtone broke the silence in the conference room, and everyone turned to look at him.
Zhou Ye took out his phone, and the caller ID on the screen made him frown slightly.
Yuriko Takagi?
He shook his head and clicked his tongue twice before answering the phone.
"Are you Teacher Zhou? I'm Principal Yuriko Takashiro."
A woman's voice came from the other end of the phone.
"Yes, it's me. Speak quickly." Zhou Ye said calmly.
"That's right, the school has reinstated you and Mr. Tohsaka, and you can continue to come to class tomorrow."
Zhou Ye and Nami exchanged a glance. The timing was far too coincidental. Had the people monitoring them discovered they weren't getting the information they wanted from their homes by placing listening devices and hidden cameras, so they switched to surveillance at the school?
"Did the parents and other teachers agree?"
Zhou Ye asked, tapping his fingers lightly on the table.
