Chapter 96 An Unpalatable Breakfast

Chapter 96 An Unpalatable Breakfast

"Oh, I'll go help her pack her things." Old Mrs. Maximov sighed softly and went into Little Wanda's cabin.

"Please wait a moment, Mr. Li." The young Quicksilver handed the child he was holding to Vision and went into another wooden house.

"I'll go help." Another Quicksilver handed the child over to Vision and then went into the young Vision's cabin.

Mr. Maksimov invited, "Mr. Li, shall we go for a cup of coffee?"

"Okay." Vega readily agreed, though inwardly he was groaning.

It seems that sending Little Wanda and Little Quicksilver here was a mistake. Now that we've taken them back, Wanda might become an unstable time bomb in the future, right?

This is troublesome. Once I get back, I'll resurrect the Maximovs from this universe. With them and Quicksilver watching over her, Wanda shouldn't do anything outrageous and blow up the entire universe...

Mr. Maximov led Vega into the cabin they had just come from, while Scarlet Witch and Vision stood silently in place.

More than an hour later, Quicksilver came in to tell them that they were ready. Vega and Mr. Maximov walked out of the cabin. Vega immediately noticed Little Wanda standing next to several suitcases with slightly red eyes, clearly having cried.

After Mr. Maximov spoke with Wanda and Quicksilver for a while, Vega said goodbye to the group and took the two back to their own universe.

Without lingering, Vega took the two to Sokovia, pried open the graves of the Maximov couple, and resurrected them. He then temporarily settled the four of them in Trenton, the capital of New Jersey, leaving behind a black card that could be used at will, before Vega went home.

He briefly told his wife Monica what he had seen while out and asked her to keep an eye on little Wanda's movements.

That night, after collecting the homework, Monica, drenched in sweat, nestled in Vega's arms and whispered, "Honey, do you think little Wanda has fallen for that cosmic vision?"

Vega: "Probably."

Monica: "Would she like our Vision here?"

Vega: "I don't know either."

The two Visions are not the same; they were born at vastly different times and their personal experiences are also very different.

It may seem like one person, but it's actually two. If Wanda really liked the Vision who was just like a human, it would be very unlikely that she would accept Vision, who was only born in this universe not long ago.

Monica: "Hey, do you think little Wanda did 'that' with Vision?"

"Which one?" Looking at the excited Monica, Vega raised an eyebrow. How come he hadn't noticed this side of his strong-willed wife before?

Monica: "It's what we just did, um~..."

Vega: "Looks like you're not full. Let me heat up some more milk for you."

At 7 a.m., looking at the slice of bread in front of her, spread with butter, cheese, greens, and smoked meat, and the oatmeal porridge with milk and biscuits, little Shengxi looked pitifully at her father: "Daddy, could you...?"

"No!" Monica interrupted her daughter. She had noticed yesterday that her daughter had started to be a picky eater, and this was unacceptable; it had to be corrected.

Xiao Shengxi: "But I've been eating Chinese food for two years and I'm not used to eating Western food anymore. I want to eat fried dough sticks and drink soy milk."

Monica: "There's only Western food; if you don't eat, you'll go hungry."

Little Shengxi: "I won't eat even if I'm hungry!"

"Then go hungry." Monica, without any hesitation, handed the breakfast in front of her to her husband.

Little Shengxi: "Waaah, Mom, this is child abuse! I'm going to report you to a child protection organization!"

Monica sneered, "Go ahead, do you want your mother to make the call for you?"

They now live in Trenton, where she is the de facto uncrowned queen of New Jersey, and she doesn't believe anyone would dare to come and arrest her.

Little Shengxi was dumbfounded. She looked at her father and said, "Dad, can't you control your wife?!"

Vega silently ate his bread, head down. You know perfectly well what kind of family you are, expecting your father to make decisions for you? What are you thinking?

"Dad, you're such a henpecked husband." Little Shengxi muttered in a Sichuan accent she'd picked up from Uncle Zhang Ruixuan, then smiled and said to her mother in a spoiled tone, "Mom, I know I was wrong. I love bread slices."

"Since you like it, then eat more." Monica switched Xiao Shengxi's breakfast with hers and then pushed her own breakfast towards her.

Little Shengxi: "Mommy, if you give me all of this, what will you eat?"

"Mom's not hungry." Monica gave her husband a subtle glare. She had drunk several cans of milk last night and was really not hungry at all.

"Oh." Xiao Shengxi picked up a slice of bread and took a big bite. Humph, bad mom made me eat this junk food, but you're sneaking food.

Monica: "Honey, do you have any plans for today?"

Vega: "Yeah, it's been a while. To avoid being forgotten, I'm going out for a stroll and to see a few more friends."

Monica: "Do you need me to prepare a gift?"

Vega: "Get me a few potions that Gwen and the others used for practice."

Monica: "Okay, I'll go get it for you right away."

After saying that, Monica got up and went upstairs.

As soon as her figure disappeared around the corner of the stairs, little Shengxi immediately whispered, "Daddy, can you take me with you?"

Vega: "What are you going to do?"

Little Shengxi: "Dad, it would be so impressive for you to take such a smart child like me to meet your friends."

Vega laughed: "You just want to eat at someone else's house, don't you?"

Little Shengxi: "No, I really want to make my dad look good!"

Vega: "Haha, okay, Dad will take you."

Little Shengxi: "Hehe, Daddy is so nice."

Vega: "Eat up, or Mom won't allow it if you don't finish."

Little Shengxi grimaced, "Waaah, who invented such awful Western food?!"

Vega: "American food is alright, but British food is just awful."

Recalling the stargazing scene that British noblewomen had served him at a banquet, Vega couldn't help but shudder.

Wow, that's terrifying.

Little Shengxi asked curiously, "Is British food really that bad?"

Vega grinned mischievously: "Want Daddy to take you to try it?"

Little Shengxi nodded repeatedly: "Okay, okay."

Vega: "Alright, but don't regret it later, and don't tell anyone when you get back."

Little Shengxi: "No regrets, no tattling, let's pinky swear."

Vega: "Pinky promise."

After making a pinky promise, the father and daughter continued eating breakfast, and their improved mood made it taste much better than before.

A short while later, Monica came down carrying a small suitcase: "I took twenty sets, is that enough?"

"That's enough." Vega nodded, then told his wife that he wanted to take their daughter to meet his friends, and Monica agreed.
