Chapter 85: Rivers of Blood
Chapter 85: Rivers of Blood
"Teacher...?" Loki had just opened her mouth when Cinderella interrupted her.
"Students who are stupid enough to be kidnapped like this should keep quiet." Catherine said this, but her eyes were still on Edward in front of her.
Although she didn't show much expression, Sidlin was actually a little surprised... She had followed the carriage that had imprisoned Loki all the way here, and even after the carriage entered the palace, she hoped that the apostle of the gods was just a minister in the palace.
But that's how it turned out; his friend was an apostle of God and Man... and once he had this realization, from the moment he came to the university as king... he had already begun plotting how to kill his foolish student.
"Tsk."
Seeing Edward remain silent, Catherine clicked her tongue.
"Nothing you want to say?"
"..." Edward lowered his eyes slightly upon hearing this, clearly feeling somewhat guilty himself. However, after a moment of silence, he slowly raised his head and said to Cinderella, "Please believe me... Cinderella."
"If she were alive... she would definitely destroy this world."
"Why should I trust you?" Catherine asked calmly. "I've trusted you many times before."
"When you sought my help, I trusted that you were doing it for the country."
"When you came to Sharia, I also trusted you to be just a pervert..."
"Even in the Kingdom of Asura, when there were assassins among the envoys who came with the Magic Kingdom, I trusted you... I think it was just a coincidence."
"Until an hour ago... after the carriage entered the palace, I trusted that you knew nothing about it." Cidelyn rarely spoke so much, but faced with Edward's question, she couldn't help but say so much.
Even though her tone was cold and her voice was flat, both Loki and Edward could tell what Cinderella was feeling.
She wasn't in a good mood... she was disappointed.
"Is this how you treat my trust?" Catherine said slowly, emphasizing each word.
"I..." Edward instinctively wanted to explain, but he fell silent as soon as he opened his mouth. He pursed his lips and then shook his head slightly: "Never mind... I have nothing to explain."
"It's too late to undo what's done, isn't it?"
"Yes," Cidelyn nodded gently, "It's beyond repair."
Catherine blinked at Edward with her red eyes, and when she opened them again, her disappointment had vanished.
All that remains is coldness.
Edward's eyes still held a hint of resentment as he looked at Sidrin and pursed his lips. "Sidrin... this is the royal palace of the Kingdom of Lanoa. Even if you were here... you couldn't possibly escape unscathed..."
"This is our last chance," he said slowly. "Hand over Miss Loki... and we can still be friends."
"The last chance?" Catherine gently curled the corners of her lips. "Unfortunately, with me... you no longer have a final chance."
"Whoosh!" As soon as she finished speaking, Cinderella flicked her index finger, and red blood shot out, transforming into a sharp blade in the air that hurtled straight toward Edward.
"Bang bang bang!"
But the next second, the woman standing in front of Edward swung her longsword, which transformed into an impenetrable net in her hand, accurately striking the condensed blood crystals in the air.
Water God Sword King?
After just one exchange, Sidlin knew the strength of the person in front of her.
After shattering Cinderella's blood magic, the woman immediately raised her longsword and charged forward.
The room was too small, and Catherine was too close to her; almost the instant she raised her sword, the blade was already aimed at Catherine's neck.
"Bang!"
Even so, the tip of the sword remained firmly planted in front of Cinderella's neck.
To Loki's astonishment, Cinderella's hand gripped the tip of the sword.
The teacher didn't use blood magic? No... she didn't... she just coated her fingertips with blood to block the attack!
Cinderella's actions clearly stunned the woman as well. She instinctively tried to pull the sword tip away but found that the blade did not move at all. Blood was already tightly wrapped around the sword like a dense spider web and was rapidly spreading towards her hand.
"Snapped!"
However, the swordswoman reacted quickly. The next second, she dropped her longsword, turned around, took a few steps back, and then pulled out another longsword from her bosom.
"A swordsman carrying two swords?" Cidlin blinked in surprise. She squeezed her hand slightly, and the blood shredded the longsword she was wrapped in into pieces. Then, with a flick of her wrist, countless blood arrows shot towards the swordsman.
"Bang bang bang bang!"
For a moment, the sound of metal clashing was deafening as the Water God Swordsman frantically swung his longsword to block the rain of metal fragments and blood crystals.
Even so, despite Cinderella's relentless attacks, quite a few shards and blood arrows still grazed her shoulders and arms.
And once there's a wound... Cinderella's goal will be achieved.
A drop of blood, under her deliberate control, struck the blade, then scattered like a water droplet and fell onto the Sword King's arm. Immediately afterwards, as if it came alive, it was controlled by Sidrin to travel up her arm and directly into her veins.
"Hmm!"
Before Loki could react, the Water God Sword King suddenly let out a painful groan and knelt down on one knee. With a gentle flick of Cinderella's hand, she screamed and fell to the ground.
"That's enough." Sidlin looked at the woman lying on the ground and shook her head slightly. With a flick of her hand, the swordsman was dead.
She had no pity for the person who wanted to kill her.
Shaking her head slightly, Cidlin slowly pushed open the door that had been closed during the battle.
It was obvious that Edward had escaped.
And not only did he escape, he also summoned all the soldiers in the palace.
As soon as she opened the door, Catherine heard a commotion in the hallway.
Fine... then let's just fight our way through.
Thinking this, Catherine looked at Loki.
"Don't stay here..."
"Teacher... I'll go with you." Loki walked up and grabbed the back of Cinderella's clothes.
"..."
After a few seconds of silence, Cinderella gently shook her head: "If you can't sleep... don't blame me."
As she spoke, she slightly revealed her sharp teeth.
"After all, we might have to kill quite a few people along the way."
"I...I won't blame the teacher or anything," Luo Qixi said, clenching her fists slightly. "I also want...I want to help the teacher."
"Is that so?" Sidley chuckled and stepped out of the room, standing in the hallway.
Then she glanced sideways at the group of soldiers rushing in from the other end of the corridor.
"You'd better not kill people indiscriminately."
"Killing too many people will make the blood taste bad," Catherine said softly, her right wrist hanging down, blood slowly flowing from it and gradually spreading towards the charging soldiers.
