Chapter 502 Setting Terms

Chapter 502 Setting Terms

A few minutes later, William joined Vice Principal Kenny in his office. It was both soundproofed and protected by many powerful Arrays that far surpassed William's understanding, so no one that entered the Dimension randomly would overhear their conversation.

He and the Vice Principal sat in identical leather recliners, each on the opposite side of a floating coffee table that automatically refilled drinks.

Professor Tenningbrew had offered to bring William and the Vice Principal into his All Zone, but the disgusting entry method make William politely decline. Instead, Tenningbrew joined both of them in the office, finding his own chair in the corner of the room where he could spectate.

"You don't need to be here, Gerald. These terms are between him and me," he looked at William's professor. "You can make a separate deal later." His tone was slightly condescending, but Tenningbrew wasn't offended.

"I'll stick with my student. Besides, your office is so nice and comfy that I might take a nap." He sported a satisfied smile while stretching his legs on the recliner's extendable footrest. An unfamiliar brand of soda drifted over from afar and landed in his hand.

"Tch. Do what you want, then." Kenny ignored Tenningbrew and focused on William, who seemed to have spaced out during the brief window.

"So, what are your terms?" he asked.

William paused his mental conversation with the System and looked at the Vice Principal. What the other party thought was a typical kid ignoring the conversation of adults was actually the opposite.

He held a much longer conversation with the System mentally, deciding which terms would give him the best shot at escaping the net cast over him, without taking it too far. Since everything happened within his own mind, William was able to analyze dozens of options in the same amount of time it took the drinks to refill.

"I have four terms." William held up four fingers. "The first one I've already mentioned. Whatever your ability is, I want no part of it."

Kenny nodded, "It's just a handshake that helps me determine whether one is friend or foe, I use it on everyone that comes close to the school. It's part of my job, but you're a student now and it's not necessary."

"That's it?" William narrowed his eyes. The way Kenny treated him after the handshake was much different than before, and he even tried to recruit William to his school.

"It also tells me your real age and one of your greatest strengths at random."

William could tell the Vice Principal wasn't lying, but he also felt like there was even more to it than that. What would happen if Kenny shook his hand twice? Would it give different results? Probably.

"And what did it tell you?"

Kenny looked at Professor Tenningbrew, as if to warn William about his professor's presence.

When that was settled, William and Kenny finished setting his terms. First, Kenny agreed not to use his Innate Talent on William in the future. He would also not share anything he had learned with anyone other than Professor Tenningbrew.

Second, Kenny would be responsible for concealing William from the Heavens if he was within Great Rouge City territory or if Kenny was in close proximity to him. This would hopefully guarantee William's safety in most cases, setting a clear boundary so Kenny wouldn't have to waste his own time.

Third, William wanted to continue attending the Filem Academy, and to be signed up for the next Cultivator Induction Ceremony. Attending the Ceremony wasn't entirely necessary since William had found another path to greater strengths, but the Planar Chart sounded extremely beneficial, and he didn't want to give up on good loot.

Lastly, William was given a thousand Spirit Jades as payment. This didn't seem like as big a deal to Kenny, but it was incredibly beneficial to William. He even wanted to ask for ten thousand Spirit Jades, but Kenny said it was too much and the information he provided was already more valuable than that.

-Earned a lifetime total of one hundred Spirit Jades: +10 AP

-Earned a lifetime total of five hundred Spirit Jades: +50 AP

-Earned a lifetime total of one thousand Jades: +100 AP

160 Ascended Points just like that?!? I'm rich!

William's eyes glittered with delight. He stored all of the Spirit Jades inside his Space Ring, then spoke with Kenny for a few more hours.

The System notified William that the Heavens had left the Plane, but he waited for confirmation from Kenny since it would seem very suspicious if William knew before he did.

"It seems they've retreated." Kenny said after declining a call from a certain communicator. He sprayed water from his wrist at Professor Tenningbrew, who had fallen asleep long ago.

"Huh? What? Mom?" Tenningbrew sat up in a hurry, wiping the water off his face with his sleeve.

"Mom? The fuck are you dreaming about?" Kenny coughed, trying to hold in his laughter. He flicked his wrist, the recliner under Tenningbrew disappearing into thin air while the other bits of furniture did the same.

"Aha, I suppose it's time to leave then?" Tenningbrew stood up and looked back and forth between Kenny and William, who were both standing before the furniture went away. Without so much as a "goodbye", Tenningbrew opened a portal and disappeared to an unknown location.

William was in no hurry to remain behind, opening his own portal towards the exit of the School's Dimension. After a quick farewell to Kenny near the exit, William returned to Great Rouge and immediately checked in to his hotel room.

"Atticus, come out. It's time for a shopping spree!" William prodded the Mythical Rat Snake with his Summoning Element, though he didn't actually summon him. Instead, he waited until Atticus appeared on his own.

"Massster, omelettes?"
