Chapter 74: | 074 | A Magus's Testimony
In the Magus Tower of the City of Gaea, Sir Greywald watched as several Magus treated his injured leg with intricate spells. As they treat him, Theodore watches from afar with furrowed eyebrows as he wonders about what brought such injury to Greywald.
The group of Magus took their time in mending the wound of Greywald. First, they applied a purifying spell to the injury. Then, they cast a kinetic spell to take out the molten metal of the bullet inside his bones.
"Argh!" As they did so, Sir Greywald felt an indescribable amount of pain. It was as though his leg was getting broken into bits and pieces by the second.
Fortunately for the Magus though, it didn't take long before the group managed to take out the molten metal and place it into a metallic plate.
Theodore watched the metal and didn't find any imbued runes upon its body. This made him wonder how such a thing managed to penetrate through a Magus's shield and have enough power to pierce through one's bones.
After the molten metal of the bullet was taken out, the group of Magus began enacting a recovery spell. In mere seconds, the injury of Sir Greywald regenerated at an unnatural rate.
The grievous wound faded by the second, and as half a minute passed, Greywald's leg was good as new. It was as though he wasn't injured, to begin with.
"That should be all, Sir Greywald. This is one of the most complex things we have done for quite a while now. The fragments of the molten metal embedded themselves clearly into your bone, making it hard for us to extract it."
"Fortunately for you, we are skilled in our medical capacity, so it wasn't too difficult for us to take out the fragments." One of the Magus aloofly uttered to Greywald and glanced at Theodore.
"Well, then. We'll take our leave." The Magus announced and walked out along with her fellow Magus.
As such, only Theodore and Sir Greywald remained in the clinic, which was mostly devoid of people. After all, it was rare for a Magus to get an injury that they couldn't handle by themselves.
Silence soon shrouded the clinic, but it was disturbed by Theodore's rough and old voice.
"Sir Greywald, what brought such injury to your leg?" Naturally, Theodore wanted to know what happened to the Magus. He should have entered the confines of the Colonial Dominion of Terra weeks ago.
"The shields of War Masters weren't effective against their cannons, Theodore. I don't even think they have magic since I didn't detect any mana distortion coming from them. In simpler terms, all of that was through technology."
As he spoke about it, the more he became confused about his memories. Magicraft was supposed to reign supreme, but it failed them and it failed him. After all, how could people with no magic easily dominate them without much of a problem?
Theodore noticed the problematic mental health of Sir Greywald. He sighed and decided to stop asking more about what had happened until the Magus stabilized his mind.
He was also prompted to not talk about how the Leviathan herd was destroyed along with an Elder Leviathan during the confrontation as the Magus would take a hit from the news.
"Okay, Sir Greywald. I heard everything I needed to hear. Take a rest in this room and stabilize your mana." Theodore stood up and reminded the Magus.
Greywald then noticed his mana surging in chaos from his affected mental health. He took a deep breath and decided to take his time stabilizing himself before thinking of anything else.
"I shall do so, Theodore." With the response of Sir Greywald, Theodore nodded at the Magus and took his leave from the clinic.
As he arrived back in the hallway, he remembered the words of Sir Greywald. The hidden force amongst them was a lot stronger than they had previously thought. They must tread the waters carefully otherwise they will be eaten alive by it.
"The future is bound in turmoil. I hope the Colonial Dominion will be able to pull through." Theodore muttered to himself before teleporting out of the Magus Tower.
Meanwhile, hundreds of miles south of the Colonial Dominion of Terra. A squadron of wyvern riders was flying through the skies before noticing an object sailing through it.
Some of them were doubtful of what it was before noticing its metallic stature. This made the squadron realize that the metallic warship was none other than their target.
Obviously, with the metallic warship found in the distance, the squadron leader didn't hesitate to take out a runic communicator and report his findings to the main fleet.
"This is Sparrow Head, we have discovered our target. Sending our location through the runic communicator. Inquiring for further orders!"
