Chapter 3967 MU Superbody Major Event (47)
Chapter 4004 The MU Superbody Incident (Forty-Seven)
"This invitation is quite strongly worded..." Batman Injustice said, looking at the battle interface panel. "Looks like that Batman is preparing to retaliate. Should I go?"
The Unjust Superman sitting next to him rolled his eyes and said, "Ten Supermen have come to save you in the last week. If you don't show up soon, the day I return to the Fighting World will be my death day."
"Okay. But they won't think it's me going, they'll think it's you. But that's a good thing, just consider me Superman representing Batman."
Injustice Superman let out a long sigh. His experiences this past week had been utterly horrific. Ever since the main universe revealed his actions, Supermen from various universes had taken turns coming to "rescue" Batman.
Injustice Superman wasn't very strong to begin with, and he was completely overwhelmed by the Superman from the main universe. Most Supermen are not much stronger than the Superman from the main universe, and being chased and beaten by this group of people, they were simply powerless to fight back.
If they came one by one, it wouldn't have been so bad; if he couldn't beat them, he could at least run away. But it was as if they had planned it all along, because three or four of them came at once, leaving him unable to fight them off or escape. In the end, he had to call in the injustice Batman to save the day.
Fortunately, none of the Supermen could bring themselves to harm Batman. With Injustice Batman standing there, even though they knew he might be under control, they were simply powerless against him and could only stand far away and curse Injustice Superman.
This caused Injustice Superman's reputation to plummet among Supermen, while his reputation among Evil Supermen soared. While he might not be on par with Nite Owl, he was practically on par with The Laughing Man.
Injustice Superman initially tried to salvage the situation. Although he had indeed done some shady things in the past, even when Batman broke ties with him, he never laid a finger on Batman. In the end, he even reformed and gave up on ruling the earth through violence. This seemed like a classic case of a prodigal son returning home, so how did he turn into a villain?
But these things just get worse the more you try to explain. No one listens to his own explanations; if Batman explains, they think he's mind-controlled, making him even more despised. So eventually, Injustice Superman gave up.
He thought giving up was the end, but little did he know there was still room for descent. About three days ago, a Superman from some universe contacted him. This guy called himself Superpower and invited him to join him in a grand evil scheme.
At first, Injustice was quite dismissive: "Who wants to conspire with you? Do you even have Batman's brains?"
But later, when he heard that the Batman this guy was supposed to be was Nite Owl, he understood: "Your Batman isn't very smart either."
However, something Injustice Superman heard from other Supermen did catch his attention: this guy who called himself Superpower was the opposite of the other Supermen.
In other words, he doesn't fear what other Supermen fear, and he doesn't like what other Supermen like; other Supermen are righteous, but he is evil; other Supermen fear Kryptonite, but he uses Kryptonite as his source of power; other Supermen need the yellow sun to enhance their power, but he is weakened when he shines on the yellow sun.
This situation is indeed quite unique. However, Injustice was initially just watching for fun, after all, he had already accepted the fact that he couldn't beat most of the other Supermen after being ganged up on by them.
However, the anxiety implied in the message Superpower sent him made Unjust Superman sense something was wrong. It seemed like something had happened to Superpower; his words subtly revealed a sense of urgency.
Injustice Superman and Injustice Batman discussed this matter. Injustice Batman remained noncommittal. If the majority of Batman's side is neutral, which makes it possible for good and evil to be evenly matched, then being an evil villain in Superman's camp is simply suicidal.
Most Supermen are inherently righteous and intolerant of any dissent. If you stay obediently in your own universe and find a corner to squat in when the fighting world gathers, that's fine; but if you dare to jump out and openly declare your anti-social stance, they'll definitely swarm you, and 60 punches per second is the least of your worries.
Just like Injustice Superman himself said, he doesn't dare go to the Battlegrounds base right now. If he dares to show his face, he'll be taken down immediately, and the Supermen will definitely show him what the iron fist of justice is all about.
Being a villain in Superman's camp has no future, so Injustice Batman didn't let Injustice Superman take on that role. However, Injustice Batman is still very curious about Night Owl's condition, and this Superman might be the key to unlocking that potential, so letting Injustice Superman make contact with him might be a good idea.
Moreover, he also had to consider a more practical problem: if he accepted the invitation from the main universe's Batman and went to the main universe, what would happen to Injustice Superman?
Without him as a human shield, Injustice Superman would definitely be smashed to pieces by the Supermen who came to his "rescue." However, he couldn't bring him to Batman's gathering, so the best solution was to find another universe to lay low.
I definitely can't go to the universe of a righteous Superman; going there would be like walking into a trap. So, I can only look for the universe of an evil Superman. The universe of Night Owl is practically the only option.
Batman Injustice stood up and said, "I'm leaving in a bit, heading to the main universe. You'll have to go before me to see what's going on in Owl's universe. But it's a bit dangerous for you to go alone; you'd better call someone else."
"Who are you calling? I've become public enemy number one now," Injustice Superman said irritably.
"There's always one or two who can barely accept you. I remember there was a Justice League in one universe that became the Lords of Justice? Your political leanings should be similar."
Injustice Superman thought for a moment before remembering that Lord Superman was the "non-mainstream" guy with a very unique style of dress.
The righteous lords established by the other party and the unjust alliance he established have certain similarities, so it might actually work.
Injustice Superman also felt he couldn't stay in his hometown any longer; it would be good to find a place to hide, and spying on the Night Owl Universe would be a good excuse. So he sent a message to Lord Superman.
The other party replied quickly, soon arranging to meet in the Battle Realm. Unfortunately, Injustice Superman couldn't go to the Battle Realm at the moment, so he could only invite Lord Superman to his own universe for a chat.
Lord Superman readily agreed, which left Injustice Superman somewhat bewildered. News of his mind control over Batman had already spread throughout the multiverse. Even if Lord Superman and his own Batman were at odds, would he so easily infiltrate the lair of a "super-evil Kryptonian"? Was he really that careless?
Injustice Superman tried asking around and found out that Lord Superman was playing the role of Batman in their universe, and he had to worry about everything, big and small. He was currently working on a magical defense network and was so busy that he didn't have time to go online, so he didn't know what Injustice Superman had been up to.
Injustice breathed a sigh of relief; finally, he didn't have to face fists directly anymore. His recent experiences had made him love negotiating.
On the day Lord Superman arrived, Injustice Superman received him in the Presidential Office. Injustice Superman remained as aloof as ever, but Lord Superman was generous with his praise.
“Well done, buddy,” Lord Superman nodded and said. “I heard you ruled the world before. That’s the kind of charisma a Superman should have. Those street heroes would never understand.”
Injustice Superman paused, then said, "You're not bad either. I've heard that the Lords of Justice is a global law enforcement organization. You've almost eradicated crime on Earth; that's truly a great feat."
Lord Superman smiled and said, "Under my leadership, the Lords of Justice have maintained global order with unprecedented efficiency. No Justice League can match our achievements, which proves that I am right and most Batmen are wrong."
Injustice Superman paused again. He opened his mouth, hesitated, and then asked, "Batman is tough to deal with, isn't he?"
"Ah, yes. I've heard from other Supermen more than once that the Batmen disapprove of what I do, but in my opinion, they're just jealous, jealous that I do it better."
"I'm referring to Batman from your universe."
"Him?" Lord Superman snorted. "He's just being stubborn. But after seeing my results, he completely changed his mind, and now he's my good assistant."
"How did you come up with the idea of founding the Lords of Justice?" Injustice Superman continued, then deliberately added, "Don't mind me, I'm just chatting casually. After all, if we might be working together in the future, it's best to get to know each other. If you have time, I can tell you my story."
Lord Superman thought for a moment and said, "Actually, it's nothing much. It's just that one day I used violence to stop a crime and found that it worked well, so I created this organization. But if you really want to get to the specific reasons, you have to start with poor Flash."
"The Flash?"
Lord Superman sighed deeply, and Injustice Superman could see his true feelings. Lord Superman's tone lowered, and he said, "Lexor killed the Flash, and I killed Lex Luthor. But I have no regrets. When someone kills another, he should have known this day would come."
Injustice paused, his hand still holding the coffee cup. "Where's Batman?" he asked.
"what?"
"Your Batman from that universe...didn't he stop you?"
Lord Superman looked at him with some surprise and said, "Why would he stop me? He couldn't stop me anyway."
"Didn't he criticize you?"
"What are you accusing me of?"
"Accusing you of murder."
Lord Superman was even more confused. He said, "Didn't I say? It was Lex Luthor who killed the Flash, so I killed him instead. The Flash was also Batman's partner. I avenged the Flash, so why would he blame me?"
“Yes, he really shouldn’t have blamed you.” Injustice Superman was already gritting his teeth.
"Batman once told me that if I killed someone, he would dispose of the body. Unfortunately, I rarely leave any bodies behind," Lord Superman said, blowing on his coffee.
"He also said he would help you dispose of the body?!" Injustice Superman raised his voice.
"Didn't he tell you?" Lord Superman looked at him and said, "That can't be right. When I talked to other Supermen about this, they all said Batman seemed to have said something similar. Are you an exception?"
"Heh." Unjust Superman laughed in anger.
“Alright, I’ve finished my story. Now, tell me yours. How was the Injustice League formed?” Lord Superman asked.
“There’s nothing to say,” Injustice Superman said coldly as he stood up. “Time waits for no one, let’s get going.”
