Chapter 3988 MU Superbody Major Event (68)

Chapter 3988 MU: The Superbody Incident (Sixty-Eight)

In the end, Constantine succeeded. Wanda generously lent him a large amount of Crimson Power energy, something even Chthon would envy. Of course, he also promised to create a perfect body for Anya.

“You know I’m the overseer, right?” Schiller said, leaning against the doorframe with his arms crossed, looking at Constantine. “Embezzlement won’t work here. You’d better not be thinking of keeping some for yourself.”

“Of course not,” Constantine shook his head and said, “What do you take me for? I know how to use funds for their intended purpose. However, this energy is very special, and even if it is given to Batman, he will probably need me to use it in the end. But I will report it truthfully.”

Seeing Constantine's cooperation, Schiller didn't relax at all. Instead, he narrowed his eyes and said, "This means you're planning to hoard some other energy, right?"

"Can you please stop treating me like a criminal suspect?"

Schiller seemed to have heard a huge joke, and said, "The crimes you've committed could fill a cosmic crime guide."

"But that's all in the past. You can't judge me now based on past sins."

“Go to hell,” Schiller replied curtly.

Constantine got busy again, working through the night. As dawn approached, the main universe's Batman called Schiller to inquire about the situation.

"You're all ready over there?" Schiller asked, somewhat surprised. He hadn't expected Batman to mobilize so quickly, but then again, Batman was a true strategist and naturally understood that many times, thorough preparation was not as important as a decisive strike.

"You're asking about the situation here? Well..." Schiller put his other hand on his hip, turned to look at Constantine, and asked, "Do you know 'Zuma'?"

"Yes, that's the toad spitting out balls game... No, I'm not saying you're a gem. I mean, you're the toad obsessed with spitting Constantine between the two balls."

"What do you mean by 'two balls'? You'll have to ask Magneto and Professor X, Thor and Loki, Jarvis and Wanda. Let me be honest, if you let Constantine wreak havoc on the world again, this won't just be a drill."

After hanging up the phone, Schiller rolled his eyes, utterly speechless. It could only be said that the main universe's Batman had some understanding of Constantine's fighting abilities, but not enough.

Or rather, everyone is like this: they think they know how evil Constantine is, but the evil they perceive is just the tip of the iceberg.

By noon that day, the two of them drove to the Sanctum Sanctum to receive the agreed-upon energy. The mutants were quite fast; to be precise, the demons who had been deceived were no big shots and were no match for the mutants. They were quickly defeated, and the collected energy was delivered to the Sanctum Sanctum.

Although the individual demon god's energy level may not be high, their large numbers result in a considerable amount of energy. Even after being divided, Constantine will still receive a significant share.

Strange was the one who received Constantine this time. He stood in his office, arms crossed, and looked at Constantine, saying, "Thanks to you, His Highness the Prince has gone back to his confinement, so I'm the only one who can receive you."

“I like your white sideburns,” Constantine smiled at him and said, “and the red cloak looks quite dashing too. Promise me, this will be the last piece of clothing you ever wear, okay?”

Strange couldn't resist punching him again. Constantine coughed twice, touched his face, shook his head, and said, "I've heard you're known as the Hand of God—it's my honor."

Strange packed Constantine and his rightful share of energy into a bundle and threw them out. Don't get me wrong, he wasn't thrown out of the Sanctum Sanctorum; it wasn't that close. Constantine was thrown directly out of Earth's atmosphere.

When Schiller found him, he was embedded in Mars. Fortunately, he wasn't photographed by the Mars rover, but he happened to run into Eddie, who was practicing space photography techniques nearby.

“Let’s go, Eddie,” Schiller said to him.

When Eddie turned and saw Schiller, he raised an eyebrow in surprise and said, "You ate the golden apple too? You were more... uh, more serious when you were younger than I thought."

"Are you even listening to me?" Schiller said with a hint of exasperation. "Ignore the guy lying on the ground and get out of here."

"Who is he?"

"The famous Constantine."

"My God. Venom!"

The venom instantly covered Eddie's entire body.

Schiller didn't even have time to utter his words of dissuasion before Venom had already jumped onto the Martian surface. What Schiller really meant was, if you hadn't called for masked support, he might not have been so interested in you; but if you summoned Venom, Constantine would definitely be interested.

Sure enough, when Schiller turned around, Constantine sprang up in a somersault and said something to Venom, which made Venom howl and chase after him, attacking him relentlessly. Eddie made no attempt to stop him, and Constantine's head was almost bitten off.

Fortunately, he used a clone technique to dodge the fatal blow. After Venom left, Schiller turned around and saw Constantine standing on a Martian moon, shrugging: "God, this Venom is exceptionally hot. I told you they should be shooting a magazine cover."

"What did you say to him?"

"I asked him if he could eat me, and then we could have some intercellular communication. He refused, but judging from his later actions, he was probably just playing hard to get."

Schiller couldn't resist sending a message to the main universe's Batman: "Start the fight already!!!"

Constantine handed the energy he had acquired to Schiller and said, "Now that the mission is complete, it's my free time. You have no objections, right? If you don't, I'm leaving."

“Wait,” Schiller quickly called out, “No, you can’t move freely in this universe.” — What a joke! If Constantine really eliminated those two spheres, wouldn’t Greed fight him to the death?

“I’m just wandering around,” Constantine said. “I’m not a child anymore, do you think I’ll get lost? I’m just going to have some free time for a little while, I’ll be back soon to help Anya build her body.”

“No way,” Schiller said. “Who knows if you’re planning to set traps in space or something. Batman specifically told me not to let you out of my sight, so you’d better not try anything funny.”

Constantine sighed, but quickly vanished in a burst of flame. Schiller snorted coldly; Constantine probably didn't know that there were human eyes and ears all over the universe now, and he couldn't escape very far.

Schiller returned to Earth, while Magneto in the main universe finally finished revisiting his old dream and began formal negotiations with the Avengers. Greed, as a second-tier hero in charge of transportation, was not qualified to participate in the negotiations and had to return to the Presbyterian Hospital to help Strange complete his medical records.

The two met in the office. Greed looked up and saw the agent push open the door and place a cup of coffee in front of him. Greed picked up the cup, smelled it, blew on it gently, and let out a satisfied sigh after taking a sip.

"Constantine disgusts you, doesn't he?" Greed asked.

"Thank goodness, I believe there are people more disgusting than me." The agent found a chair, sat down, and said, "He helped Batman get a lot of energy, what do you think?"

"How do I see it? I'll sit here and watch. If I don't want him to get his hands on the energy, he won't get a single drop," Greed said calmly, taking a sip of his coffee. "Besides, do you think Constantine will obediently work for Batman?"

"But Batman should know him better than we do. Actually, I'm a little confused too. Why was something as important as preparing the energy entrusted to Constantine? Isn't Batman worried that he'll mess things up?"

"Batman definitely has a backup plan, or rather, he brought Constantine here to mislead us. The war started long before it even began."

The agent frowned and said, "But energy is indeed a big problem. If Batman doesn't rely on Constantine, he should think of other ways, but it seems that nothing unusual has been found."

“He doesn’t necessarily need to get energy from our universe,” Greed shook his head and said. “As long as it’s from the same world, wouldn’t it be the same if he got it from other universes here and brought it over?”

"So, Constantine is just a smokescreen to mislead us? He's trying to find a way in other universes?"

“It’s not certain,” Greed continued. “Logically speaking, no matter how much energy we get here, it’s unreliable, because energy is essentially a loan. Although it doesn’t have to be repaid, those demons can tamper with it. If some key energy sources go wrong, their battle lines will probably collapse completely very quickly. Batman won’t take that risk.”

"But they need energy. Superheroes like Wonder Woman need to fight continuously, and the base also needs enough energy for defense. What else can we do if we don't rely on energy from here?"

"Although Batman sometimes acts like a question-and-answer AI, he's far more agile than AI. Trust me, he'll have a surprising entrance."

"How's it going in the main universe?"

Greed chuckled and said, "Batman's best move is to throw Bruce and the others over here; the main universe will soon be in chaos."

Inside the meeting room, the Avengers members were engaged in heated discussions, primarily negotiating with the main universe to finalize various deal terms and details such as post-war compensation, while also determining the current power of the main universe. These were all trivial and troublesome matters, but they were things that always needed to be discussed.

Magneto is actually quite a skilled negotiator. Despite his taciturn nature, he's incredibly stubborn. Once he's made up his mind, almost no one can persuade him to change it, no matter how tempting the offer. He might not gain much in return, but he'll definitely stick to his principles. The Avengers find this very troublesome.

But just as they were trying again to persuade Magneto to back down, Magneto's expression suddenly changed. He jumped up from his seat, and the surrounding magnetic field almost froze.

"What did you say? Iron Man, the mechanical overlord, invaded our universe? Why would he do that?!"
