Chapter 4094 MU Superbody Major Event (171)
Chapter 4094 MU: The Superbody Incident (171)
Arkham Batman realized, upon seeing their condition, that he had been able to get here so easily because the crazed Schillers had been lured away by his teammates and opponents.
At this moment, Eric's upper body was covered in blood, and it looked as if his lungs had been ripped out and stuffed back in; Jack was holding his left hand and half of his shoulder with his right hand, grimacing as he tried to pry at his exposed shoulder blade; Constantine was either coughing up blood or vomiting up his entire stomach, but his body was covered in fragments of internal organs; Doctor Strange was missing one of his eyeballs, and he was using his dream power to condense a new eyeball and stuff it back in.
Batman Arkham didn't even want to ask what happened to them, because just looking at their injuries, he could imagine the brutal battle that had just taken place. If nothing unexpected happened, it was damage from both their opponents and their own teammates.
Of course, the conflict here is not between two parties, but between humans and Schiller. With an entity that can manipulate emotions, it's too easy to accidentally injure friendly forces when things get heated.
But now is clearly not the time to dwell on that. Arkham Batman walked over and said, "Let's call a truce for now. Once we find that door, we'll see who's the best, okay?"
The three people opposite him were too exhausted to reply. After a moment, Doctor Strange, the Dream Force, nodded and said, "If I had known this dream was like this, I would never have started this competition. I've dragged you all into this."
Batman from Arkham was somewhat surprised by his humility, as most Doctors of Strange were rather arrogant. However, since he possessed the power to manipulate dreams, he must have something unique about him.
“Enough of that,” said Batman Arkham. “Do you have any clues about the exit?”
Charles pointed down, keeping his mouth shut, and said, "There's a drainpipe at the very bottom, and the water flow there is a bit off. I was going to warn you, but they've caught up with us... ugh..."
No one knows what happened, but Charles seemed to have been a little agitated and started gagging. He somehow got hold of a wheelchair and sat in it, as if he had suddenly reverted to old age overnight.
Batman from Arkham looked down with a hint of resignation. If he'd known the exit was below, he wouldn't have gone upstream. But if he hadn't gone upstream, those Schillers might have been after him.
Even if they didn't want to go back the way they came, they had no other choice. Everyone went downstream again and, sure enough, saw the unusual water flow. Following the water flow into the pipes, they arrived at a mysterious building.
It looked like some kind of temple, but there was nothing there except for the patterns on the ground and the excessively high dome. It was an empty building, with only repetitive, spacious rooms, covered bridges, and clouds drifting outside.
"Wait, what's that?" Constantine looked out of a huge window. The group went over to investigate and found a door floating in mid-air, with "1509" written on it.
“Great,” Constantine said with delight, “this should be the door. Schiller, tell me who you want to go with.”
Everyone else looked at him, ready to hear his answer. But just then, the Schillers attacked again, and everyone had to fight back. Fortunately, Arkham Batman was in good shape, with Charles and Eric supporting him, and he was able to hold them off by himself.
Although Constantine was also injured, he felt he could still fight. Just as he was taking something out of the box, he suddenly noticed Doctor Strange approaching the door, and the space around him began to fluctuate.
“Wait,” Constantine suddenly said, “there’s something wrong with him!”
Everyone turned to look, but there was no Doctor Strange there. There was only a strange man in a black robe, radiating an eerie green light, grinning maliciously.
"Who are you?!" Charles spoke first; neither he nor Eric recognized the man.
But the agent thought for a moment and said, "Nightmare?! You..."
"That's right, it is me. I am the true master of the Dream Dimension. Doctor Strange, the Dream Power? He's nothing but a clown who stole power. But it doesn't matter, I have already obtained most of the Dream Power, and the Dream Dimension will return to the mortal realm!!!"
“When did you…” Charles was clearly shocked. He really hadn’t expected that the person who had fought alongside them all this way wasn’t Doctor Strange, the Dream Force, but he clearly hadn’t noticed anything wrong with him—he was a psychic.
"This is a dream," Nightmare sneered. "Is your so-called mind-reading really mind-reading? It's just me mimicking how you use your abilities in a dream. You're all the same; all the powers you can display in a dream are simulations I've created. If you don't believe me..."
With a wave of his hand, everyone lost their ability to fly and plummeted downwards. But after falling for a while, they returned to their original positions.
"Nightmare, what do you want to do?" the agent asked, frowning.
"Of course, we should bring the dream dimension into the real world! Only a sufficiently chaotic and insane dream can output enough dream power!"
"So you chose me?" the agent squinted at him. "So this so-called competition was a conspiracy you had planned all along?"
"No, I only found out halfway through the competition. But I've been waiting for this opportunity for a long time."
"Where did you take the Dream Power, Doctor Strange?"
"That fool fell into my trap so easily. He's still a long way from ruling the dream dimension!"
The agent frowned. Perhaps Doctor Strange's dream power was not quite adapted to the central universe. His grasp of the dream dimension of the central universe was not comprehensive enough, and Nightmare had taken advantage of the loophole.
However, it seems that not every dream can allow the nightmare to output dream power to the real world. One's own dream may be special, and he can use this dream to achieve a breakthrough.
“Just as I thought,” said Arkham Batman. Everyone else turned to look at him, and the agent seemed to remember something as well.
“Doctor Strange didn’t appear in Constantine’s dream,” Jack said. “That dream was the one that needed a sorcerer the most, but he never showed up. Wasn’t that when you tricked him away?”
"Yes, because that dream needed him the most, I used a little trick, and he rushed over there in a hurry, only to fall headfirst into the trap and still be trapped. What an idiot!"
The agent looked at Arkham Batman, knowing that if Batman had sensed something beforehand, he couldn't possibly be unprepared.
"Opening the passage requires some power; you should feel honored." With that, Nightmare reached out to them, a ghostly green light assaulting them. Eric immediately resisted, but his power was severely suppressed—Nightmare seemed to possess supreme authority within the dream dimension.
But at that moment, a magical light suddenly shone from Batman Arkham's chest. With a wave of his hand, he pulled Charles and Eric over, and the group was enveloped in magical light. The power of the dream dimension seemed unable to shake them.
"You can use magic?!" Nightmare exclaimed in disbelief. "How is that possible! I didn't see it at all in your mental world..."
“I hypnotized myself before I came here,” Arkham Batman said. “If I want to keep a secret, no one can find out through mind reading. Professor X can’t, and neither can you.”
The agent breathed a sigh of relief; Batman from Arkham had indeed prepared a backup plan. He must have made preparations before entering the dream dimension, hypnotizing himself to forget that he possessed magic. This way, even in the mental world, no one could discover his magical abilities by peering into his memories.
Batman from Arkham possesses considerable magical abilities; while not necessarily comparable to the Sorcerer Supreme, he is still a force to be reckoned with. This led to Nightmare's misjudgment.
He thought he had dealt with Doctor Strange, who possessed the power of dreams, but Charles had been seriously injured and his abilities were already weakened. Constantine was using religious elements, which were not his area of expertise, so there was no magical power that could threaten him. He didn't expect that Batman from Arkham was also a very strong sorcerer.
"What would be the consequences of transferring the power of dreams out?" Batman Arkham asked while enduring Nightmare's attacks.
"The dream dimension will descend upon the main dimension, and dreams and reality will become blurred. Nightmares, who possess extremely high authority within the dream dimension, can also use this authority to control the real world."
Knowing this, Arkham Batman no longer hesitated. He threw several glittering gems at Nightmare, newly compressed magical bombs he had created, with astonishing power.
When the first one exploded, even Nightmare was blasted away. He roared and was about to retaliate, but it seemed as if he was pulled back by some invisible force, and his attack failed to land.
“It must be Doctor Strange’s Dream Force rebelling,” Jack said. “Nightmare isn’t as powerful as he claims. Doctor Strange’s Dream Force can shake his authority. We just need to stall him until Doctor Strange breaks free…”
Before he could finish speaking, Schiller reappeared. These people seemed completely unaffected by the Nightmare, attacking anyone they could get their hands on, friend or foe, yet he still managed to hit the Nightmare. The Nightmare was practically swearing.
"Damn phantoms, I am the master of the dream dimension, you have to listen to me! You...you can't hit me! I've never seen such crazy phantoms! Get out of my way!"
His response was a massive flash of light.
The two sides began a race of endurance, neither willing to give up, trying to wear the other down. Logically, the Arkham Batmen and their group of outsiders should not be able to outlast Nightmare, but Nightmare also seemed afraid that Doctor Strange with the Dream Force would break free, so he kept diverting his energy to suppress Doctor Strange with the Dream Force, while everyone else had to find time to deal with Schiller.
To help Doctor Strange escape his clutches as soon as possible, Arkham Batman relentlessly attacked Nightmare with magic. The two fought fiercely until they reached the door. Arkham Batman then unleashed another set of Infinity Stones, and Nightmare, seeing he was about to be hit, quickly dodged to the side, but two of the stones landed right on the door.
With a loud bang, the door was blown open, and both of them were stunned.
Nightmare was overjoyed. He needed some explosive power to open the door, but Doctor Strange, the Dream Force, kept bothering him, making him afraid to use too much power. He never expected that this dark-skinned kid would have such a powerful bomb that could blast open a passage between two dimensions. Wouldn't this be a great help to him?
Batman Arkham knew things were bad, but he wasn't concerned about whether the dimensional barrier would explode or not. What he was concerned about was that after a huge hole was blasted open in the door, all the Schillers had escaped!
"What dimension is outside?" Arkham Batman asked.
"Why should I tell you?! You can't stop me..."
Batman from Arkham slapped him away, yelling at Jack, "Drive! Move it!!!"
In the office of the Dark Dimension, the main universe's Batman was looking at the surveillance equipment when Batwoman walked in and said, "The plan is working. Night Owl has relayed the message to the other side; they got the fake address. When do we head to the target location?"
"Don't rush. Thanos told me that the middleman who possesses the Soul Stone isn't difficult to deal with, but the middleman is usually in the same dimension as the Lords of Chaos and Order. These two beings possess immense power, so we need to think about how to deal with them."
“I’ll lead the team there myself,” Batwoman said. “Batman in the Dark Multiverse is ready to go, it’s time for us to make our move.”
The main universe's Batman nodded and said, "You are very strong and have a wide range of abilities, but you must be careful. Many mysterious beings in this universe are very powerful, so you must not let your guard down."
“I understand,” Batwoman said. “But I think that since they are locals, they will soon realize that there is no gem at the fake address and may head towards the real address. We need to finish this quickly.”
The main universe Batman nodded, watching Batwoman depart. Unbeknownst to him, the Dark Multiverse Batman team had been under surveillance the moment they left the Dark Quadrant.
“You weren’t lying to me,” Loki said with a sneer from the planet not far away. He turned to look at Night Owl behind him and said into the communicator, “Batman gave us a fake address. This group is going to the real address.”
With his arms crossed, Night Owl said smugly, "Don't I know Batman's tricks? How could I fall for such a childish switcheroo? Stick close to them, and you'll find the Soul Stone soon enough."
Loki and Night Owl followed Batman through the Dark Multiverse and soon discovered the true dimensional entrance. He muttered to himself, "So this is it. Could the Infinity Stones be in the hands of the Lord of Order or the Lord of Chaos? That makes things much easier."
Batman in the Dark Multiverse maintained his cautious approach, not rushing in because he was unfamiliar with the dimensions, but instead planning to scout ahead first.
Loki was very familiar with this place; he had been here several times and had even met the Chaos Lord and the Order Lord, so they could be considered to have some kind of relationship. Taking advantage of Batman's rest in the Dark Multiverse, he planned to go straight in. If the Infinity Stones were truly in their hands, he was confident he could get his hands on them directly.
“You wait here, I’ll go in and take a look,” Loki said to Night Owl.
After saying that, he went into the dimensional portal. But just a few seconds later, he came out with a look of utter disbelief.
"What's wrong?" Night Owl couldn't help but ask.
"I'm probably just too tired and hallucinating," Loki said, somewhat bewildered. "Otherwise, why would I see a bunch of Schillers wandering around the universe?!"
"Loki! Loki!" Stark and Strange, who had just received the message, walked out of the portal. Strange recognized the dimensional entrance as soon as he saw it. He said, "Oh, so it's these guys' dimension. I know them. I'll just tell them."
"Let's go, let's grab the gems before they do, then they'll never be able to collect them all."
"Wait a minute!" Loki was too late; the two of them rushed inside.
Loki closed his eyes, utterly dejected, and stood there counting: "Three, two, one..."
"what!!!!!!"
"Ouch!!!!!!"
