Chapter 109: Chapter 108- Carnage(2)
"No, father. Wait!" Hazir suddenly stood before his father, blocking his path.
His second son also stood before him as he said, "You cannot go."
The Patriarch frowned, "You two know the situation out there, but still stopping me?" His voice sounded unnaturally cold as he told them, "Move."
"No, father. You need to stay here and be the last line of defense." Hazir insisted, "If you fall, there would be no one to command the soldiers and assure our people. You need to be here, and take the command, father."
Hearing his eldest son's voice, the King was forced to think about his decision once again.
Tarvin added, "You are our strongest pillar of hope. And if something happens to you...I, us, and the whole country would fall into despair. So please, stay here."
In the end, the eldest one had to accept his son's suggestion and let them go, "Just...be safe out there..." Although he said that, he knew that only a miracle could save Drenovar from this disaster.

"You were completely cramped there, Luke. How did you get out?"
Luke has been asked this several times by his teammates and sometimes by his opponents as well: how, when under pressure, does he become so insanely good at rugby?
And his answer always remained the same,
"The thrill of pressure makes me just forget about everything and allows me to focus on my goal."
And that was the same even today.
Austin was in a pinch. The situation was critical on both sides; the coast and the main city. Although Sebastian was out there, decimating all the demonized humans, he also had a limit.
And if the beast in front of his eyes gets out there, countless deaths await.
'The demon is at the very least an A-rank...' The soldiers around the Stain were most likely to get destroyed by that amount of demons and the High Demon would be a huge hurdle to cross.
And he needs to reach the coast in time as well, to ensure Valerie's safety.
So many things to consider, so many things to lose yet Austin found his mind calm and his heart beating rapidly in excitement.
"Hmm? Aren't they ..." Austin's eyes suddenly caught the figure of two people who looked different from other soldiers—wearing expensive clothes and commanding the soldiers as soon as they appeared.
"The Princes of Drenovar..." Austin watched as the eldest son immediately got into battle with the Greater Demon while the younger one was engaged in taking away the fallen soldiers and commanding the others who still could fight.@@@@
Because the majority of soldiers were fighting at the shore and around two hundred were surrounding the palace, only about fifty or so soldiers were left around the Hellstain.
'They won't be able to handle it ...'

CLANG!
Hazir staggered back, his arms numb from blocking the Great Demon's claw. His bones rattled, and his grip on his Shard—his shield—nearly failed after just one clash.
'That strength... It's A-rank!' He clenched his teeth and hurled his Shard at the three-headed beast charging toward him.
GRRR!
The monster roared, swatting the shield aside like a toy before lunging forward, its claws thirsting for blood.
Hazir growled, yanking his hand back. His Shard shot toward him, doubling in speed, growing in size mid-flight—THWACK!—slamming into the beast's ribs.
TING!
The impact sent it skidding, but only for a moment.
Hazir summoned his shield back, twisted mid-step, and flung it again—a razor-edged blur slicing through the air.
But this time—
"Huh?*
—the beast vanished!
His heart lurched.
"BEHIND!"
Tarvin's voice was raw with panic.
Hazir moved—but too late.
The beast shook itself, rage burning in its glowing eyes. It lunged—quicker than before, its claws cutting through the air like blades.
Austin dashed forward, his Shard elongating mid-swing as he drove it toward the monster's throat.
CLANG!
The beast twisted, intercepting with a claw, sending sparks flying.
Hazir was already moving. He spun his Shard and slammed it into the demon's ribs. The force sent tremors through his arms, but the monster staggered, growling in frustration.
Austin ducked under a wild swing, closing in from the side. He slashed—his blade cutting deep into the demon's shoulder.
GRUUUUUOOOO!
The beast roared and retaliated with a tail swipe.
"Move!" Austin shouted.
Hazir barely managed to throw his shield in front of him before the tail crashed into him. He skidded backward, boots digging into the dirt, the breath knocked from his lungs.
Austin leaped onto the beast's back, plunging his Shard into its spine.
The creature thrashed violently, slamming itself against the ground to crush him.
Austin yanked his blade free and jumped just in time, landing beside Hazir.
"You good?" he asked, panting.
Hazir gritted his teeth, gripping his Shard tightly. "Yeah."
The beast reared up, its three heads snarling.
"*UOOOOOOOOGH*" The beast suddenly howled, its massive maw splitting and the ground trembling under the effect of its massive presence.
A shiver ran down Hazir's spine and Austin also felt the strength behind that howl.
'This is bad...' Austin ducked low, as he prepared.
Just as the three-headed beast turned towards him, Austin lunged forward, aiming to plunge his dagger into the beast and end the game.
However,
[Alert!]
[The enemy has used the skill Paralysis!]
Austin's eyes widened as his body slowly came to pause under the glowing red eyes of the beast.
The beast moved, its form vanishing in an instant.
Austin closed his eyes; knowing that he rushed at the wrong time.
However, before the demon could have slashed at him,
**FUOOOOOO**
A melodious sound resonated, making the demon slower with each stride, and just in time, Hazir brought his shield before Austin to protect him.
*CLANG*
The demon's claw was met by the shield, and once again, it failed to attack before Hazir pushed the beast back.
"Haaah....you saved me there..." The moment Austin and the demon broke eye contact, the paralysis effect dulled—allowing him to move freely.
He turned to look at the other Prince and found him holding his Shard—in the shape of a flute.
Hazir gave him a firm nod, before saying, "Eyes forward. It's still alive."
Austin growled, "Not for long," as he summoned his Axe in one hand and his Shard in another.
Time to go all out.

A/N:- This A-rank doesn't actually define A-rank. It's more like a B+.
Well, I hope you liked the battle scene.
