After talking with Siegfried, Shye felt a little bit better. Although he was walking towards the dormitory with a slight guilt in his heart, he started repeatedly telling himself that he didn't do anything wrong and simply killed them to protect himself.
Upon arriving in front of his dormitory, his eyebrows rose after seeing such an unexpected scene.
Maia was there, happily chatting with Instructor Fienna who seemed to be waiting for him to return.
A few moments later, Instructor Fienna noticed him.
"Oh, Crowley, there you are. Sorry for intruding but Dean Snowcrest told me that the City Lord of Colzen City summoned you. If you still have some time today maybe you can drop by the city hall?
Instructor Fienna said
"Hmm? The City Lord? Why?"
Shye was confused, he couldn't think of any reason why the city lord would summon him.
"You silly, after getting rid of a major threat inside the beginner adventurer zone, why else would he summon you?"
Instructor Fienna explained with a smile on her face.
After hearing what Instructor Fienna said, Shye was pleasantly surprised. It seems that he would get another reward.
"I see! Thanks for telling me, instructor. I'll drop by today!"
Shye said to Instructor Fienna before turning his head to look at Maia.
"Maia, I'll go to the City Hall for a bit, I'll buy snacks for you before I return!"
After hearing what her big brother said, a wide smile appeared on Maia's face and her eyes sparkled in excitement.
"Okay! Be careful Big Brother! I want some fried octopus balls okay?"
"Sure!"
Instructor Fienna smiled after hearing the conversation between the siblings.
"How nostalgic...I wonder where are you right now...Big Brother?"
Finally, after a few minutes of walking, the two of them arrived in front of the City Lord's office.
*KNOCK* *KNOCK*
"City Lord, Shye Crowley has arrived."
"You may come in"
After the City Lord gave his permission, the guard opened the door for Shye but he didn't enter with him.
On the other hand, Shye looked at the City Lord and bowed as a sign of respect.
The City Lord was a middle-aged man who seemed to be similar in age to Dean Snowcrest.
He had a thin body which obviously wasn't trained for close combat, however, he had a dignified aura and a constant stern look on his face.
Due to his observations, Shye concluded that the City Lord was probably either a mage or a priest.
"Hello, Shye Crowley, welcome to Colzen City Hall. I'm Elijah Winston, you may call me City Lord Elijah."
"I've summoned you here after hearing about your heroic deeds. On behalf of Colzen City, I would like to thank you for removing a dangerous threat inside the beginner adventurer zone."
City Lord Elijah slightly bowed towards Shye who also bowed in return.
"Thank you, City Lord, however, I simply did my duty to protect my classmates and was lucky enough to narrowly defeat the ember tiger."
Elijah's eyebrows rose after hearing Shye's words. He didn't expect that such a young man would be devoid of arrogance.
He then smiled towards Shye and said
"Still, you prevented the death of many rookie adventurers and for that, I would like to give you a reward."
Shye's ears practically clapped in glee after hearing that he would receive another reward but he forcefully suppressed his happiness and remained serious.
City Lord Elijah took out a huge bag of silver coins and placed it on the table. He then looked at Shye and said
"Inside this bag are one thousand silver coins. Please take it as a reward for your effort and heroic spirit."
